Vanessa Feltz takes subtle on air swipe at ex Ben Ofoedu after his wedding

Daily Mirror17-07-2025
TV presenter Vanessa Feltz appeared to take a subtle swipe at her ex fiance Ben Ofoedu after he exchanged vows with her new partner Vanessa Brown earlier this week
Vanessa Feltz appeared to take a subtle swipe at her ex Ben Ofoedu following his marriage to another woman this week. The TV presenter, 63, and the Phats and Small singer, 53, were engaged and ready for marriage before calling time on their relationship.

Instead, the musician has now tied the knot with Vanessa Brown, leaving Vanessa to seemingly throw slight shade in his direction. The duo were together for 16 years before Ben pulled the plug on their pairing in 2023. Now, just weeks after proposing again, Ben is a married man.

And while appearing on her live Channel 5 chat show Vanessa couldn't resist a sharp comment. It comes after Ben seemingly made a dig of his own. Following his ceremony at a stunning Cumbria castle, he explained how his nuptials were 'a new beginning' and said: "I wasted 17 years of my life."

Following Ben's own dig, Vanessa struck back as she spoke with Carrie and David Grant, former Strictly star James Jordan and her daughter, Saskia Joss.
While the group discussed spouses, James said it "always worked" when he linked up with professional dancer wife Ola. Carrie and Saskia also gushed about their working dynamics, but it left Vanessa to joke: "And I'm sitting here single, single and all alone."

Despite quickly moving on during the live show, Vanessa hinted it may not have been the end of it between the guests. She teased there had been "censored" discussion between the group during an ad break.
While she didn't reveal what had been said, the guests were seen chuckling as the show came to a close.
Speaking MailOnline following his big day, Ben said: "I have always wanted to be married since I was seven years old. I always wanted to be with someone who would take my surname.

"I almost gave up on marriage, thinking there wasn't a lady that would walk down the aisle for me. I can't believe the day has come, it is a dream come true. It feels like I've been waiting for this moment all my life. This is the finale of the chapter that was 17 years of my life."
Vanessa previously tied the knot with surgeon Michael Kurer back in 1983. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2000 after they had welcomed daughters Allegra and Saskia. They also now have four grandchildren.

Vanessa and Ben had initially planned to walk down the aisle together in 2007. However, they remained engaged before they called it quits over 15 years later. Shortly after their separation, Vanessa opened up on This Morning about coping with the split.
She said at the time: "People have been amazing. Absolutely amazing, and of course it helps a lot. I can't sleep at all, so reading thousands and thousands of messages from lovely people on Instagram is something to do in the night."
She added: "When you have to end a relationship it's very hard. I've had what feels like millions of messages from so, so many people going through it.
"I wouldn't want to minimise in any way what it's like when you're heartbroken. It's horrible."

Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood makes key change as he fears being 'cancelled'

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has revealed his big fear of being cancelled after looking back at footage of himself talking to contestants on the hit BBC series Strictly Come Dancing legend Craig Revel Horwood is known for his blunt responses to contestants as they try to back the coveted Glitter Ball. But it appears his fear of being cancelled is making him change his ways. ‌ The once spiky judge, 60, has admitted he has had to "mellow" his straight talking ways as the years go by. He revealed his worry of being cancelled led to his decision. ‌ His latest comments come months after he took aim at the BBC contest's other judges, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse and claiming he was the reason for the show's success. But now, Craig has claimed he is trying to make sure he always adds a positive onto any comment he makes towards celebrity contestants. ‌ Speaking to Mail Online, Craig confessed: "Back 21 years ago I could be more direct but now what I do is be honest and upfront with the contestants about their routine like I am with anything, I am honest, and with Strictly I am honest but then I will try tag a positive onto the end of it." "I generally do one point now where it's a negative and a point that's positive just to help them build and grow and give them more confidence. ‌ "As long as I am honest and not being harsh for effect and telling the truth about the dance then no one can really go against that." He added that he feels he would only be at risk of being cancelled if he was being untoward. He said any comments he makes aren't for personal gain and never will be. And he admitted last year that he had decided to tone down his comments. It comes after he looked back and thought "ooh, that's cutting" when he revisited past comments. ‌ The comments come as former professional dancer on the show, Orla Jordan, jibed the judge for having "lost his sparkle". However, Craig claims that isn't the case. Footage has shown how he was t the centre of an awkward row after criticising a Dancing with the Stars contestant live on air in the Aussie version of Strictly. He was met with backlash after labelling Osher Gunsberg's Tango a "right royal mess" in a recent episode. After hearing the comments, the former Bachelorette Australia host fired back: "Would you like to try going down that perspex ramp in those heels, sir? You are more than welcome to show me how to do it." ‌ And in Craig fashion, he responded: "That is not my job." Craig then continued to criticise, as he labelled the dance 'completely erratic' and accused the TV star of 'making mistakes' everywhere. Osher, who was partnered with professional dancer Sriani Argaet, wasn't impressed and replied: "But I need you to be doing it in a tango step while the person next to you is on one foot, kicking, and you're holding their momentum against you. After you." Craig quickly dismissed the suggestion as something they could do 'some other time'. And following the confrontation, the video went viral on social media. Fans were quick to call out the on-air 'melt down' as they took to social media.

Jessica Alba and Danny Ramirez 'confirm' relationship with romantic kiss in the street

It was a very sunny, happy day for films tars Jessica Alba and Danny Ramirez on Saturday - as they affectionately kissed and gazed in each other's eyes on the streets of California Jessica Alba and Danny Ramirez have made their emerging romance very public - popping outside for a smooch on the street in the middle of the day. The pair looked very loved up and even appeared to copy each other's style as they sported dark tops and grey joggers. ‌ Rumours of a romance emerged earlier in the week after 44-year-old Jessica and 31-year-old Danny enjoyed a dinner out together. And prior to this, the pair reportedly enjoyed a trip to Cancún together. ‌ On Saturday, Jessica and Danny were spotted in the California sunshine locking lips and smiling into each other's eyes. Both wore baseball caps and they could barely keep their hands off each other. ‌ The romantic exchange came soon after Danny received a floral arrangement - giving the impression he may have impressed his older girlfriend with a gift. Jessica beamed at the younger man - with the relationship believed to be her first since the announcement of her plan to divorce earlier this year. And it appears that swapping smooches with the Top Gun: Maverick star is going some way to repair Jessica's broken heart. There are expectations that the couple could be building their way towards a serious romance. ‌ A source told the Daily Mail - who have published snaps of the pair kissing: "Jessica's romance with Danny has taken a surprising turn. What started out as a summer fling feels like it's getting more serious, although she still wants to take things slow. "But at the end of the day Jessica has never been one to play the field. She's excited to see where this romance is headed." The Mirror has contacted representatives of both Jessica and Danny for comment. Fans were shocked at the beginning of the year when Jessica confirmed she had split from husband Cash Warren, 46, after 21 years of marriage. The couple share three children: Honor, 17, Haven, 13, and Hayes, 7. ‌ They revealed they were heading for divorce the following month as papers were served - and the case is believed to be ongoing. Jessica told fans she and Cash had separated in an Instagram post shared in Janaury. She wrote at the time: "I've been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash. ‌ "I'm proud of how we've grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals." She added: "We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time." The following month, PEOPLE magazine reported that the Fantastic Four star had filed for divorce in Los Angeles County court citing irreconcilable differences as the cause of the collapse of the marriage - and 27 December 2024 as the day they separated. The sad news came less than a year after Jessica celebrated the fact she and Cash had survived 20 years of marriage. Marking their anniversary in May 2024, she wrote in an online post: "I'm proud of us for making it this far. There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family." She added at the time: "Through thick and thin we have continually found our way back to each other and have chosen one another. Cheers to us, I love you."
