Drake And His Fans Have A 'F**k Kendrick' Moment At Wireless Festival

Yahooa day ago
Drake took the stage on Saturday (July 12), for night two of the 2025 Wireless Festival in London, where fans at Finsbury Park made their allegiance loud and clear.
Mid-performance, the crowd broke out into a chant of 'f**k Kendrick,' and instead of ignoring it, Drake embraced the moment. Turning to his longtime friend and security lead Chubbs, he responded, 'Grab me a shot. I'll drink to that.'
The moment came shortly after Drake challenged the audience to 'name another artist' who could match his performance level — doubling down on his position in the ongoing rap battle between himself and K. Dot.
Kendrick wasn't the only one to catch shade during Drake's set.
The Toronto native also appeared to send a subtle message to NBA legend LeBron James by switching up the lyrics to his 2018 hit 'Nonstop.' Instead of the original line: 'How I go from 6 to 23 like I'm LeBron?' he rapped, 'How I go from 6 to 23, but not LeBron,' hinting at tension in their once-close friendship.
The lyrical switch-up follows speculation sparked by Drake recently covering up his LeBron tattoo and replacing it with new ink honoring NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
After delivering an R&B-focused set on Friday (July 11), Drizzy shifted gears on Saturday with a London-themed performance that celebrated the U.K.'s rap scene. He brought out British rap heavyweights Skepta, Central Cee, and Dave, and made a bold declaration about London's place in Hip-Hop.
'Nobody can out-rap London — nobody,' he declared to the crowd. 'No disrespect to America. No disrespect to my country. But nobody can out-rap London rappers. This is the best. This is the highest level. This is what I aspire to be.'
Drake headlined all three nights of this year's Wireless Festival July 11-13, which celebrated its 20th anniversary.

NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 28: Singer Rihanna (L) and rapper Drake pose onstage during the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards at Madison Square Garden on August 28, 2016 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/WireImage) In America, hip-hop is not just the most consumed genre of music, it's also the most streamed. The biggest names in rap typically perform best on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, iHeartRadio, and others, but several major figures in the genre have proven they can sell massive quantities of albums and singles while also dominating the streaming rankings. Drake is one such star, and he demonstrates his commercial prowess once more with his brand new song "What Did I Miss?" Drake's "What Would I Do?" Debuts at No. 1 "What Did I Miss?" debuts at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, where the track enters in the highest rung with just under 6,000 pure purchases. It claims the top spot by only a few dozen sales, pushing "Ordinary" by Alex Warren down from the summit the Drake tune arrives. Fifteenth Digital Chart-Topper for Drake With a new winner to his credit, Drake earns his milestone fifteenth champion on Billboard's ranking of the bestselling tracks in the United States. "What Did I Miss?" pushes him ahead of Rihanna, with whom he was previously tied, as both had scored 14 leaders. The two superstars have collaborated numerous times throughout their careers, but now Drake surpasses her — at least for the moment. Taylor Swift Still Leads Taylor Swift continues to dominate with 29 No. 1s on the Digital Song Sales chart. That's as many ruling smashes as both Drake and Rihanna combined. Nicki Minaj holds onto second place with 17 wins. A Mix of One-Week Hits and Long-Running Smashes Most of Drake's No. 1s on the Digital Song Sales chart led for just one frame, though a few have managed to control the tally for long stretches – even months. "God's Plan" ranks as the rapper's longest-running leader, with eight frames at No. 1. "In My Feelings," which was released the same year, dominated for half a dozen weeks. Throughout his time in the spotlight, Drake has sent 159 tracks to the Digital Song Sales chart. Of those, 62 have broken into the top 10. "What Did I Miss?" Rules Eight Billboard Charts "What Did I Miss?" opens at No. 1 on eight different Billboard charts this week. Three of those lists are focused exclusively on sales, while another three measure only streaming activity. The track also conquers both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs rankings simultaneously, though it stalls in the runner-up spot on the Hot 100.

A former NBA star has a grandmaster plan to make chess cooler

LAS VEGAS — When Derrick Rose took a moment this week to reflect on his NBA career, he didn't reminisce on his MVP season with the Chicago Bulls, his fierce playoff battles with LeBron James or even the gutting injuries that transformed him from a superstar into a sixth man. Instead, Rose, who retired last September at age 35, harbored one unexpected regret: He waited too long to open up to his teammates about his passion for chess.

Shaquille O'Neal Pushes Angel Reese to Repeat Caitlin Clark Moment

Shaquille O'Neal Pushes Angel Reese to Repeat Caitlin Clark Moment originally appeared on Athlon Sports. NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal is never one to hold back, and during a recent appearance on the "Off The Record" podcast hosted by Bailey Jackson and Lachelle Smith, he made it clear that he wants Angel Reese to double down on her fiery rivalry with Caitlin Clark. The topic arose as the hosts discussed the intense, headline-grabbing dynamic between Reese and Clark, which began during their college days and has continued into their rookie WNBA seasons. Shaq, who has long been a supporter of Reese, praised her infamous 'ring finger' celebration after LSU's 2023 national championship win over Clark's Iowa squad. 'When Angel did (gestures at ring finger), that was excellent marketing,' Shaq said. 'Then you had people, 'Oh why'd she do that?' Why not? Do it again. That's marketing.' For O'Neal, the moment wasn't about disrespect. It was about building a storyline, engaging fans, and highlighting elite competition--something he believes the league needs more of. 'I've seen those two cross paths. They're not going to fight each other. That's competition, that's why they're great players,' he added. 'You've got this person you're pumping up, you've got this person, 'Oh, they're bad.' And then the bad finally beats the good?' he said, before mock clapping and adding, 'That's the (expletive) that I like!' Shaq also took a moment to show respect to Clark, calling her a competitor with the right mindset. He applauded both players for what they've done to elevate the women's game, pointing out how their rivalry has fueled record-breaking attendance and viewership numbers across both college basketball and the WNBA. His advice to Reese? Don't shy away from the spotlight. With Clark and Reese now suiting up for the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky, respectively, their on-court clashes have only intensified and Shaq is all for it. If Reese brings the fire again, he won't just approve, he'll be cheering from the front row. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 15, 2025, where it first appeared.
