Deepika Padukone opened up on Shah Rukh Khan's respect for women at WAVES 2025 summit.
Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan joined a panel at the WAVES 2025 summit called The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler. The talk was led by filmmaker Karan Johar, who asked them about starting out in Bollywood and working together. Deepika spoke about her experience with Shah Rukh and praised him for always treating his female co-stars with respect.
Talking about how SRK respects women, Deepika said, 'It's not just respect for women when the camera is rolling; it's in every pore of his body. He is always aware of the presence of a woman, and he ensures that she is comfortable and well taken care of. It's not something he switches on. It's just inherently who he is, and I don't know him any other way, and I have known him since I was 16."
Shah Rukh Khan said he naturally respects women and truly means it. He shared that he sees women as kind, caring, and connected to nature and God. He added that his respect for them comes from the heart. 'I hope that it does not come off as a cliché answer, but I have too much respect for women. It comes inherently and innately from within. I just feel genuine love for every woman that I come across in my life. I just find them kinder, and I think they are the ones who provide nature. They are connected to God and nature in some way, and I feel love for women in the kindest, rightest and most sensitive way of the word," Shah Rukh Khan said.
Shah Rukh Khan was also full of praise for Deepika Padukone, his longtime co-star and close friend. The two were part of a conversation moderated by Karan Johar, where Shah Rukh took a moment to share something personal about Deepika. He said he hoped he wasn't crossing any lines because he was saying something personal, but genuinely felt that the most beautiful role Deepika would ever play was that of a mother.

The insider added that the actor's team opted for precautionary care abroad, ensuring he receives the best treatment available. Doctors have reportedly advised SRK to take a complete break for at least a month. As a result, the film's shooting schedule has been paused. Locations such as Film City, Golden Tobacco, and YRF Studios were initially booked through July and August, but the bookings have now been cancelled until further notice. The next schedule is expected to resume sometime in September or October. King cast: King stars Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role as a formidable assassin deeply embedded in the criminal underworld. Last Updated: Shah Rukh Khan reveals his favourite food item, his diet and unusual sleep routine. Shah Rukh Khan is set to hit 60 this November, but you would never guess it from his energy or his lean, camera-ready frame. While most stars swear by early mornings and superfoods, SRK's fitness playbook is anything but ordinary – and it works. The superstar has often given fans a peek into the habits that keep him in shape, and earlier this year, he told The Guardian about one of his most unusual routines. 'I go to bed at five in the morning but wake up by nine or ten," he revealed. Shah Rukh Khan's Protein, Portion Control and Love for Tandoori Chicken Back in 2016, speaking to Shah Rukh laid out the basics of his diet. 'I eat grilled chicken, lean meats, pulses, and egg whites," he said, adding with a laugh that when asked what he eats to stay in shape, he once replied, 'Nothing!" Portion control is SRK's biggest diet secret. 'I make sure I eat fewer portions, and I give up white bread, white rice, sweets, and alcohol if I need to get in shape for a certain role," he explained. Home-cooked food is a must for him. He avoids set meals and prefers lunch from home – usually fish or tandoori chicken with bean sprouts or vegetables. Dinner is often 'tandoori chicken with tandoori roti, generally, and a mutton dish once in a while." Comfort Food and Unusual Choices of SRK If there's one dish he's truly loyal to, it's tandoori chicken. 'I am addicted to it and I can eat it 365 days a year," SRK admitted. He even remembered trying caviar once on an Air India flight, adding, 'It's been a while since I have eaten it anywhere again." While he rarely touches junk food or sweets, SRK does indulge on occasion. 'Sometimes I eat an ice-cream, or chocolate," he said when asked about Indian desserts. He doesn't eat fruits at all. Instead, his wife Gauri makes him what he calls a 'nice ice cream with digestive biscuits." Shah Rukh Khan upcoming movies Shah Rukh Khan, who was recently honoured with the National Award for his role in Atlee's Jawan, will be seen in Siddharth Anand's next, King.
