Deepika Padukone opened up on Shah Rukh Khan's respect for women at WAVES 2025 summit.
Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan joined a panel at the WAVES 2025 summit called The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler. The talk was led by filmmaker Karan Johar, who asked them about starting out in Bollywood and working together. Deepika spoke about her experience with Shah Rukh and praised him for always treating his female co-stars with respect.
Talking about how SRK respects women, Deepika said, 'It's not just respect for women when the camera is rolling; it's in every pore of his body. He is always aware of the presence of a woman, and he ensures that she is comfortable and well taken care of. It's not something he switches on. It's just inherently who he is, and I don't know him any other way, and I have known him since I was 16."
Shah Rukh Khan said he naturally respects women and truly means it. He shared that he sees women as kind, caring, and connected to nature and God. He added that his respect for them comes from the heart. 'I hope that it does not come off as a cliché answer, but I have too much respect for women. It comes inherently and innately from within. I just feel genuine love for every woman that I come across in my life. I just find them kinder, and I think they are the ones who provide nature. They are connected to God and nature in some way, and I feel love for women in the kindest, rightest and most sensitive way of the word," Shah Rukh Khan said.
Shah Rukh Khan was also full of praise for Deepika Padukone, his longtime co-star and close friend. The two were part of a conversation moderated by Karan Johar, where Shah Rukh took a moment to share something personal about Deepika. He said he hoped he wasn't crossing any lines because he was saying something personal, but genuinely felt that the most beautiful role Deepika would ever play was that of a mother.

Deepshikha Nagpal recalls simplicity of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan on sets: ‘Everybody wants vanity vans today'

Actress Deepshikha Nagpal recently opened up about the stark contrast between Bollywood stars of the 90s and the current generation of actors. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, she reflected on the simplicity and humility she witnessed on sets back in the day — particularly recalling her time shooting Koyla (1997) with Shah Rukh Khan . Deepshikha pointed out how acting wasn't considered a 'respected' profession earlier, and the focus was purely on the craft. 'Acting was not a profession before; it was not a respected job. Now, everybody wants to become an actor; they want vanity vans and staff. I have seen Shah Rukh Khan working in Koyla. There were no vanity vans back then. He would just sleep there in the midst of coal mine machinery and flashing lights. The focus was on work. That we need to finish this scene by this date,' she said. 04:11 SRK-Salman's 'Kat' fight! She said that both Shah Rukh and Salman were grounded and approachable on set. 'I've even seen how Salman once shot for films. Big stars would get a big makeup room. Aryan Khan's The Ba***ds Of Bollywood First Review Out, Netflix CEO Calls It 'Very Funny'

Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan, is all set to step into the entertainment industry, but behind the camera. He is helming a Netflix series titled The Ba***ds of Bollywood. The first review of Aryan's show is in, and it comes from none other than Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos. In his feedback for the first two episodes that he has watched, Sarandos praised Khan and called the series 'very funny". The Ba***ds of Bollywood is a high-stakes, humorous, and immersive story that follows an ambitious outsider and his friends as they navigate the unpredictable, larger-than-life world of Bollywood. In an interview on Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath's WTF podcast, Ted Sarandos spoke about the Aryan Khan-helmed show. He said, 'It (The Ba***ds of Bollywood) is very fun. I've watched the first two episodes so far. It's very funny. I think people in India and people outside of India know nothing about the inner workings of Bollywood. So it's a really fun world. He's (Aryan Khan) a very good director." Earlier this year, Shah Rukh Khan introduced his son's series in his unique style – through a witty, theatrical, and effortlessly charming video that highlighted his dynamic chemistry with Aryan Khan. He shared the teaser on his social media, captioning it, 'Picture toh saalon se baaki hai, par show toh ab shuru hoga. Witness Aryan Khan's take on Bollywood… The BA***DS OF BOLLYWOOD, coming soon." The show's creators shared their enthusiasm for this daring new venture, highlighting how it explores the intense drama that lies beneath the surface of glamour. The show's team stated, 'Behind the glamour of Bollywood lies a world just as dramatic as the films themselves—and that is where our Netflix series begins. Through Aryan Khan's distinct lens, this show dives into the glitz, the chaos, the comedy, and the high stakes of an industry built on dreams. From the house of Red Chillies Entertainment, this collaboration with Netflix brings to life a story that is as bold and entertaining as the movies we have come to love. We can't wait for audiences to experience this with us." Produced under Red Chillies Entertainment, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood is backed by Gauri Khan, with Bonnie Jain and Akshat Verma serving as executive producers. Aryan Khan leads the project as creator and director, working alongside co-creators Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, who have also contributed to the writing. The series is slated for release in 2025.
