Daily Mirror7 days ago
The new and highly-anticipated superhero series is dropping on Disney Plus very soon.
Streaming giant Disney Plus has revealed that the spin-off series for Marvel's blockbuster film is landing on the platform sooner than anticipated. Eyes of Wakanda, which continues the story from the smash-hit Marvel movie Black Panther and its follow-up Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is an original action-adventure series.

Disney Plus has unveiled an explosive trailer for the fresh animated programme, created alongside Proximity Media's Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Kalia King. The series "follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history", according to Disney's official synopsis.

It adds: "In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry-out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda. They are the Hatut Zaraze and this is their story."

This follows the series being revealed last month at Annecy International Animation Festival, reports the Express.
Supporters have been stunned to discover that Eyes of Wakanda is premiering far earlier than anticipated, with all four episodes scheduled to arrive on Disney Plus on August 1, 2025.

Posting on X, the social media site previously called Twitter, Marvel enthusiasts shared their delight about the fresh trailer.
"Excited for this! ! WAKANDA defo needed more exploration," one posted, whilst another concurred: "The fans are excited for this."
"Finally, more Wakandan lore to obsess over," a third viewer gushed, whilst another remarked: "Very much looking forward to this."

"The trailer gave me chills, holy..." one viewer gushed, while another eager fan declared: "Take my money!!!"
"M A R V E L! ! ! you now have my attention," another chimed in, with yet another simply stating: "OMGGG."
However, not all fans were thrilled that the show won't be live action, with one disgruntled viewer grumbling: "This should've been live action. We got Secret Invasion in live action but not this?"

The series, developed by Ryan Coogler and directed by Todd Harris, boasts a star-studded voice acting cast, including Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint and Anika Noni Rose.

Ryan Coogler's original Black Panther film, which holds a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, tells the tale of King T'Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman.
The synopsis reads: 'After the death of his father, T'Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king.
'When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T'Challa's mettle as king -- and as Black Panther -- gets tested when he's drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk.
'Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.'
Eyes of Wakanda is coming to Disney Plus on August 1, 2025.

Some even wore their own Spidey masks and costumes and even had the chance to meet Tom Holland between scenes. Glasgow has also been used as New York for other films - for example Indiana Jones and the Dial Of Destiny - and the city has also featured as the DC Comics version of NYC, Gotham City, in The Flash and The if grown ups driving in the city start to feel their spidey-sense tingling, it's probably just the traffic - as filming means more than fifty Glasgow roads will be closed for at least two weeks.

Marvel extends Glasgow shoot for new Spider-Man movie

The Marvel movie, set for release next year, is being filmed in several parts of the city, including Bothwell Street, Glassford Street and St Vincent Street. The streets of Glasgow city centre have been redesigned in the image of New York as filming for the new Spider-Man movie takes place. US flags and banners have been draped on the sides of buildings, and Big Apple-style street furniture and food stalls lines the streets alongside New York Police Department cars, buses, and now-iconic yellow taxis. On Sunday, Tom Holland, who is reprising his role as Spider-Man, was spotted filming scenes while clad in the web-slinger's famous suit. Road restrictions indicate that production will move to Hutchison Street from August 16 to August 18, before taking over Cochrane Street, John Street, South Frederick Street and Montrose Street from August 21 to August 26. Glasgow City Council has now revised its list of traffic restrictions in place in the city centre to accommodate the shoot being extended: Prohibition of vehicle movements 09:00hrs on the 22 August 2025 to 23:59hrs on the 26 August 2025 Cochrane Street for its full length John Street between Ingram Street and Cochrane Street South Frederick Street, southbound only, for its full length Prohibition of vehicle movements 05:00hrs on the 22 August 2025 to 22:00hrs on the 24 August 2025 John Street between George Street and Cochrane Street Prohibition of vehicle movements 07:00hrs on the 25 August 2025 to 23:59hrs on the 26 August 2025 Montrose Street between George Street and Ingram Street Prohibition of waiting, loading and unloading 15:00hrs on 21 August 2025 to 23:59hrs on 26 August 2025 Cochrane Street for its full length Montrose Street between George Street and Ingram Street Plot details remain for the movie remain under wraps, but long-time Spider-Man franchise producer Amy Pascal, teased what we can expect from the story during an appearance on a podcast in December last year. She said: 'We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker [in No Way Home], and that he was going to focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard.' The forthcoming movie marks the fourth instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man franchise, and creators have said it will see a change in tone when compared with the previous three movies, which were released in 2017, 2019, and 2021. Approached by The Herald about the shoot, a spokesman for Glasgow City Council said: 'While we cannot comment on individual productions, the council's Glasgow Film Office is in constant dialogue with film, broadcast and advertising productions of all sizes who are interested in filming in the city to establish how we can support them. "These productions bring a significant economic benefit to Glasgow, and have helped to steadily grow the capacity of our film and broadcast sector in recent years, as seen in new facilities such as the Kelvin Hall studio.'
