Here are the 10 worst deadbeat dads in Suffolk County — and what the sheriff wants for Mother's Day
The men plastered to the 'Wall of Shame' collectively owe their baby mothers nearly $1.5 million, with one alleged deadbeat — Gustave Schotker of Farmingdale — dodging $420,000 in child support by himself, officials said.
'We are talking about thousands of dollars that could have gone to food, clothing, doctor's appointments, or school supplies for the children — not just children, but their children,' Sheriff Errol Toulon Jr. told reporters outside of Yaphank Correctional Facility.

Officials said the timing of the unveiling days before Mother's Day on Sunday was meant to send a message to the men dodging their responsibilities — and to the women forced to carry the load of raising their children alone.
'A lot of times, a two-income household dissolves, and then the mother is left there holding the bag — financially and emotionally — and then there are men that take advantage of this system and choose not to pay or be responsible,' Suffolk County Legislator Trish Bergin told The Post.

The 'Wall of Shame,' displayed at the sheriff's office in Yaphank, includes the names, photos, and last known cities of each of the 10 men, along with the amount they owe.
The sheriff claimed some of the alleged offenders haven't made a single payment in years, despite court orders and arrest warrants hanging over their heads.
The Suffolk County men on the 'wall of shame owe their baby mothers nearly $1.5 million.
Toulon warned of a near-future filled with garnished wages, seized property and jail time for no-show dads who think they can abandon their parental obligations.

'It's really the children that suffer even though these men may think they're punishing their former girlfriend, wife, or significant other,' the sheriff said.
Toulon is now asking for help from the public to assist in locating and holding these absentee fathers accountable.
'This Mother's Day, let's honor the parents who show up every day, and let's bring justice to those who refuse to,' Toulon said.

A 69-year-old man has been missing from his home since early Tuesday morning, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office. Sen. Chuck Grassley demands probe of ‘bureaucrats' who sidelined CBP whistleblowers — and were promoted
WASHINGTON — Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is demanding an investigation of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials who allegedly retaliated against whistleblowers who flagged failures to fingerprint potentially dangerous criminal migrants, The Post can exclusively reveal. The Senate Judiciary Committee chairman fired off a letter Monday to CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott naming and shaming those 'bureaucrats' who were promoted even after they sidelined whistleblowers Fred Wynn, Mike Taylor and Mark Jones. 'To ensure that retaliation does not happen again at [Department of Homeland Security], CBP, or any of the Department's other component agencies, the bureaucrats that retaliated against Mr. Wynn, Mr. Taylor, and Mr. Jones must be held accountable,' Grassley told Scott. Armed gang terrorizes Queens while swiping mopeds: ‘Just came up and showed me a big knife'
A gang of knife-wielding robbers has been terrorizing Queens while swiping mopeds this summer, cops said Tuesday — as they released the suspects' photos. The three criminals threatened their victims before fleeing with their mopeds in six incidents, cops said. Farid Ahamed, 31, told The Post he was on his moped and stopped at a red light at 106th Street and Liberty Avenue when two scary-looking men approached him. 3 Cops want to talk to this man and two others about a series of moped robberies in Queens this summer. DCPI 'They just came up and showed me a big knife and said for me to give them everything,' Ahamed said. 'I got off my scooter, and they took my scooter and my Samsung mobile and also my AirPods.' Ahamed said he hasn't bought a new scooter since the robbery July 3. 3 The robbers have been flashing knives, then swiping mopeds, police said. DCPI 'I feel afraid,' he said. 'I think it will happen again, so I don't get a new scooter.' In another attack three days before, a 29-year-old man was on his moped was heading east on 107th Avenue in Queens Village when the robbers hit him in the head with a chain and then held him at knifepoint and took his vehicle, cops said. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries, police said. On July 20, two of the suspects, one flashing a knife, stole a 22-year-old man's moped as he parked at 101st Avenue and Drew Street, cops said. 3 Detectives are still on the hunt for all three suspects. DCPI A few hours later, a 28-year-old man was sitting on his moped at 122nd Street and Liberty Avenue when the three thugs approached him, ordered him off his vehicle and grabbed it and fled, police said. On Aug. 7, a 55-year-old man was stopped on his moped at Rockaway Boulevard and 103rd Street when suspects removed his keys and then forced him off of his vehicle. The robbers fled the scene with the moped. Later that same day, two suspects threatened another man with a knife before driving off with his moped on Linden Boulevard. Photos released by investigators show three suspects in casual clothes — one riding a moped.
