Nabi reveals what Kaizer Chiefs bosses promised him
Whether Nasreddine Nabi remains Kaizer Chiefs coach beyond this season is everyone's guess.
The 59-year-old led Amakhosi to their first trophy in 10 years however, his poor league form may see the club's management opting to release him.
Chiefs are ninth in the Betway Premiership and with two matches to go, they need to win all of them to finish in the top 8. Failure to do so might force the Chiefs management to look for a new coach as they look to strengthen their squad for next season.
Speaking on Extra Time , Nabi explained one condition that would make him stay at Kaizer Chiefs.
'I wouldn't be honest if say that I'm gonna stay if the club doesn't allow me to get all the tools to succeed next season because they have promised, and myself, I have promised the fans that I want to build a successful team that will compete in every competition to win trophies,' he said on Extra Time.
'That's the condition for me to stay [at Chiefs] because I don't feel that I want to go through what I went through this season,' Nabi concluded.
On Monday morning, Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr denied rumours of Nabi's exit. He told Xoli Zondo on 5FM that the 59-year-old tactician was set to continue for another season.
'Coach has got another season after this with us now,' said Motaung Jr.
'At the same time, like we do after every season, we sit down and review. We know that the results in the league have been inconsistent.'
Nabi is set to meet up with Kaizer Chiefs management to review the season later this month.

High praise for Tanzania's Feisal Salum amid Kaizer Chiefs transfer speculation
Kaizer Chiefs are eyeing Tanzanian midfield star Feisal Salum for a potential transfer. Photo: BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix Tanzania's national team coach, Hemed Suleiman, has heaped praise on Azam FC midfielder Feisal Salum, as momentum builds around a potential move to Kaizer Chiefs. Salum featured for Tanzania in Friday's international friendly against South Africa at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. At the post-match press conference, Suleiman was inundated with questions about the 27-year-old star midfielder. While on a scouting mission on the continent last week, Salum reportedly met Chiefs head coach Nabi Nasreddine and the club's head of scouting, Thembela 'Tera' Maliwa, in Tanzania. Nabi, who previously coached Salum at Tanzanian giants Young Africans FC, is credited with transforming him from a defensive into an attacking midfielder. Since moving to Azam FC, Salum has blossomed into a consistent performer, contributing four goals and 12 assists this season. The appeal of Salum extends beyond Chiefs. Reigning Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns have also expressed interest, underlining the midfielder's growing reputation in southern Africa. In Friday's clash against Bafana Bafana, Salum showcased his quality with a composed 90-minute performance. He achieved a passing accuracy of 86 per cent, made 38 touches, and delivered four long balls—three of which found their target. Coach Suleiman was emphatic in his praise: 'Feisal has qualities like South African players. Coach of Tanzania Suleiman Hemed. Photo: BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix "For me, when he comes here, he can play for any team. I think he is the best midfielder in Tanzania at the moment. We need to support him. Given the fact that he is a good player, that gives him an advantage to be able to play anywhere.' Former Wydad Athletic Club coach Rulani Mokwena echoed the admiration, calling Salum 'one of the best on the continent' and praising his off-field character. 'He's a very good player, one of the best on the continent. For me, Feisal is very special, and I like his personality — not only as a footballer but also as a human being.' Salum remains under contract with Azam FC until June 2026. The club's head of media and information, Thabit Zacharia, confirmed no formal offers have yet been received. 'If a team makes an offer that meets our expectations, we will not stand in his way,' he said, while stressing that the club currently has no intention of selling.

'Kaizer Chiefs need Sipho Mbule' says Moagi
It's been the week's biggest question among Kaizer Chiefs supporters across Mzansi. Should the club sign Sipho Mbule or not? Moshikaro Moagi, the famous Amakhosi supporter who promised to walk home from the FNB Stadium to Tzaneen, if Kaizer Chiefs lost to Mamelodi Sundowns last season, has said the 27-year-old Mbule should wear gold and black next season. The Bethlehem-born midfielder is a free agent after the 2024/25 Betway Premiership champions released for ill-discipline towards alcohol. Former Kaizer Chiefs striker names best player in SA Sipho Mbule trains with Mamelodi Sundowns at Chloorkop. Image: Sundowns media 'Sipho Mbule is a good player, even though he has had some off-field issues. Sometimes, a change of environment can lead to a change in behavior,' Moagi told KickOff. Orlando Pirates make decision on 34-year-old star 'If given the chance, he could prove himself. He's a talented footballer, so I believe he should be given an opportunity. If you look at his performances, when Kaizer Chiefs face Sipho Mbule, he always puts up a strong fight. That alone might indicate where his passion lies. 'He was the standout player at Sekhukhune United this season. Even his parent club, Mamelodi Sundowns, seems hesitant to confront him, which is why they included a clause preventing him from playing against them. 'There is definitely a position for Mbule at Kaizer Chiefs, as we currently lack experienced players. Most of the other players don't match his level at Chiefs; he is more advanced. 'The player I do not recommend signing is Rivaldo Coetzee. I'm not convinced that we need him at Chiefs, even though he is currently a free agent,' Moagi concluded.
