Swift resolution of PGRS petitions is a must: SP Jagadeesh
Anantapur: District Superintendent of Police (SP) P Jagadeesh, IPS emphasized the importance of resolving PGRS (Public Grievance Redressal System) petitions without delay and urged police officials to handle public issues responsibly and transparently. He conducted the PGRS programme at the District Police Conference Hall on Monday, where he received a total of 97 petitions from complainants across various parts of the district.
He personally interacted with the petitioners, listened to their grievances, and ensured their concerns were addressed. The complaints included family disputes, domestic violence by spouses/in-laws, land and property conflicts, road access issues, and other civil matters.
He held Zoom video conferences with respective police officials to discuss and assess each petition. He instructed them to thoroughly investigate each issue, verify the facts, and take immediate legal action if necessary.
He further directed the concerned officers to submit a detailed report on the actions taken to the District Police Office. The event also saw the participation of DSP of the Women's Wing, Mahaboob Basha, and other police officials.

Major breakthrough in Kurakulpalli teacher kidnap case
Anantapur: The District Police achieved a significant breakthrough by solving the kidnapping case of a female teacher from Kurakulpalli, Kambadur Mandal. As per the orders of District Superintendent of Police P Jagadeesh IPS, the Kalyan-durg Sub-Division Police arrested a 10-member gang responsible for the abduc-tion. The accused, shockingly, were family members of the victim, who allegedly kid-napped her to seize her property. The victim, Maruthamma, a teacher working at MPP School in Kurakulpalli, was kidnapped on June 12 while returning from school with her husband, Eggidi Erriswamy. As per police reports (Cr. No. 49/2025), her father Anand, along with nine others, intercepted the couple using a Bolero and two-wheelers and abducted them. Maruthamma, working since 2016, had become the main breadwinner for her fa-ther and sister's families. She purchased gold (about 15 tolas) and a residential plot in Anantapur. Despite her stable job, her family opposed her recent love mar-riage with Erriswamy (already married with two children) and saw the marriage as a threat to their financial support. In retaliation, the accused kidnapped her with the intention of forcing her to transfer her assets and marry her brother-in-law Ellappa. She was taken to Benga-luru, confined in a relative's house, tortured, and threatened with death unless she complied. SP P Jagadeesh directed immediate action, forming special teams led by Kalyan-durg DSP Ravi Babu, including three CIs and SIs. Based on solid leads, the police rescued the victim and arrested the accused on June 15. The SP commended the swift investigation and arrest made within 72 hours by CI Neelakanteshwara (Kalyandurg Rural), CI Yuvaraju (Kalyandurg Town), CI Venkata-ramana (Rayadurg Rural), SI Praveen (Kambadur), SI Nabi Rasool (Bommanahal), SI Nagamadhulu (Kanekal), and support staff including Rajesh, Khaja, Manjunath, Nagarjuna, Mohan Krishna, Rajyalakshmi, and SB personnel Anjaneyulu and Mo-han. A Bolero, two-wheelers, and a knife were recovered from the accused. The case underscores the importance of swift action and coordinated policing in dealing with sensitive domestic and property-related crimes.

Officials must act sincerely in resolving public grievances: Collector
Anantapur: Anantapur District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar emphasized the need for sincerity and prompt action in addressing public grievances through the Public Grievances Redressal System (PGRS). The Collector, along with Tadipatri MLA JC Asmith Reddy, received 461 petitions from the public during a PGRS programme held at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam in Yadiki Mandal on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he directed all transferred officials to immediately report to their new postings. He highlighted the newly issued guidelines which stipulate that government staff, including VROs, junior assistants, and secretariat employees, must not be posted in their native villages, mandals, or constituencies to maintain administrative integrity. First-level and second-level gazetted officers must also avoid postings in their own constituencies or revenue divisions. He stated that the government has already issued orders to ensure that no district officer serves in their home district and assured that any issues arising from these guidelines would be resolved accordingly. He also stressed the importance of prompt grievance resolution without delay, as directed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He announced that random inspections and sample verifications would be conducted to assess the quality and effectiveness of grievance redressal. He said field-level officers must understand the correct process for resolving petitions and warned that officials would be contacted directly to verify the status of grievances submitted through the PGRS portal. Various department heads and district officials, including the Joint Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma, DRO A Malola, and special deputy collectors, were present at the event. Senior officials from departments like agriculture, revenue, housing, health, BC welfare, industries, and others also participated.

Justice will be ensured for complainants, says SP Ratna
Puttaparthi: District Superintendent of Police (SP) V Ratna on Monday assured that justice will be delivered to complainants by conducting thorough investigations within the legal framework. Participating in the Public Grievances Redressal System programme held at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office, she received a total of 80 complaints from the public. Speaking on the occasion, she stated that all complaints would be investigated thoroughly in accordance with the law and resolved appropriately. She instructed concerned officials via phone to resolve legally valid issues immediately and to ensure that complaints are not repeated. She emphasized swift and just action, directing officials to act promptly and deliver justice without delay. The grievances received during the programme included family disputes, land issues, cyber frauds, and property distribution conflicts. Along with the SP, Puttaparthi DSP Vijay Kumar, Women's PS DSP Adinarayana, and Legal Advisor Sainath Reddy, along with police staff, also participated in the event.
