32-year-old right-hander Noah Syndergaard signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, according to Chuck Garfien of CHSN. He'll begin his comeback attempt at the Sox' spring training complex in Glendale, Arizona.
Syndergaard, an eight-year MLB vet, has a career 3.71 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. He last pitched for the Cleveland Guardians in 2023.
Philadelphia had traded for Syndergaard at the 2022 deadline, and he became an important arm for them down the stretch, pitching ten games for them and another four during their run to the World Series.

'Thor', as he was called for his resemblance of Chris Hemsworth's Marvel character, was drafted 38th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2010. They later traded him to the New York Mets.

He made his major league debut in 2015 and helped the Mets reach the World Series. Thor started Game Three and pitched six solid innings, earning the win in New York's only victory of the Series.
After five mostly good years in Queens, Syndergaard missed 2020 and almost all of 2021 recovering from Tommy John surgery. He signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Angels in 2022, who then flipped him to Philly at the deadline for former No. 1 Pick Mickey Moniak... which Thor had some fun with on Twitter:
Syndergaard struggled with both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Guardians in 2023, and after being released for the second time that year, it seemed like his career had come to an unceremonious end. But the White Sox, who sit dead last in the American League and have arms dropping at an alarming rate,

49ers trade for Chiefs receiver Skyy Moore, AP source says

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers agreed to a deal to acquire receiver Skyy Moore from the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday. A person familiar with the trade said the teams will swap sixth- and seventh-round picks in 2027 in the deal that sends Moore to San Francisco. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the trade can't be finalized until Moore passes a physical. Moore was drafted by Kansas City in the second round in 2022 but hasn't produced much in his first three seasons. He had 43 catches for 494 yards and one TD in 36 games. He didn't catch a single pass last season because of a a core muscle injury. Moore did catch a TD pass in the fourth quarter of Kansas City's 38-35 win in the Super Bowl against Philadelphia following the 2022 season. Moore had an 88-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of a preseason game last Friday at Seattle. The 49ers have gone 227 consecutive regular-season games without a punt return touchdown for the second longest active drought in the NFL. The Niners were in dire need of healthy receivers. Brandon Aiyuk is working his way back from major knee surgery and isn't expected to be able to play until at least Week 6, while fellow starter Jauan Jennings has been out for most of training camp with a calf injury. Coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday on his radio show that Demarcus Robinson is facing a three-game suspension, pending appeal, after pleading no contest last month to a misdemeanor DUI charge. Rookie Jordan Watkins is out with a high ankle sprain and second-year pro Jacob Cowing is nursing a hamstring injury. Cowing hurt his hamstring the first day of training camp and returned to practice last week. Cowing tweaked the injury on Tuesday and missed practice Wednesday. ___ AP NFL:

Micah Parsons is still a spectator at Cowboys practice as he awaits a contract extension

FRISCO, Texas — Micah Parsons made his usual sideline appearance for the final practice of training camp for the Dallas Cowboys, who are back in Texas after nearly a month in California. While there were no signs Wednesday that the star pass rusher's hold-in was leading to progress in stalled contract negotiations, first-year coach Brian Schottenheimer didn't hesitate when asked if Parsons would be on the field for the opener at Philadelphia on Sept. 4.
