The 46-year-old former England rugby star took to Instagram on Monday to reshare a snap from the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022- specifically, the National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral.
Zara, 44, stood out in a vibrant pink Laura Green London dress with a Juliette Millinery hat, while Eugenie, 35, turned heads in a bold orange Emilia Wickstead number.
Tindall, never one to miss a moment of fun, created a collage of the royal cousins and cheekily added images of pink and orange Starburst lollies, drawing a playful comparison to their outfits.
He captioned the original post: "When you combine your favourite Starbursts!! 2 world-class ladies!! #starburst #platinumjubilee."
At the time, fans were quick to embrace the joke.
"The cutest Starbursts ever!!!" one follower wrote, while another chimed in, "Haha, they really do look like Starbursts."
Others praised the women's style and humour, with one fan commenting: "Zara was the BEST DRESSED ROYAL."
While Eugenie didn't interact publicly with the post, Tindall recently brought it back to light via his Instagram stories, admitting he had "completely forgot about this photo!!!"
Despite the jab, the Tindalls share a close bond with Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank.
The families are often seen together at royal events, including this year's Royal Ascot and May's Buckingham Palace Garden Party.
Neither Zara nor Eugenie are full-time working royals.
Zara continues to thrive as a professional equestrian, famously winning silver at the 2012 Olympics, while Eugenie has spent more than a decade as an associate director at prestigious art gallery Hauser & Wirth.
Both women juggle their careers with motherhood: Zara shares three children, Mia, 11, Lena, seven, and Lucas, four, with with Mike, while Eugenie and Jack have two sons, August, four, and Ernest, two.
Though they typically steer clear of commenting on royal tensions, Zara recently made a rare statement about her cousin Prince Harry's strained relationship with the family.
"It is very hard to see from the outside, but 100 per cent, it is a family that is still going through the same struggles other people do," she said in May, as reported by The Sun.
"Whether they are relationships, obviously, it is very easy to see every day. We're still very supportive of each other."
Zara and Mike have remained loyal to the monarchy, and reports suggest they've distanced themselves from Harry and his American wife, Meghan Markle, following their public fallout with King Charles III.
Elsewhere, Tindall praised her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II as an "inspiration to all".
"We had a very incredible person to look up to who is sadly not here anymore," she said.
"She was amazing and an inspiration to all of us."

'The day was incredibly emotional,' a source told The Sun. 'Pictures of Ozzy were dotted throughout the house and a photograph of him was given to everyone who attended to take home with them.' The insider added: 'Ozzy wanted his final place of rest to be at home and he is buried at a beautiful point on the lake.' The day before the ceremony, an emotional funeral procession took place through the streets of Ozzy's hometown in Birmingham, England. Ozzy's widow, Sharon, 72, their kids, Kelly, 40, Jack, 39, and Aimee, 41, and his son Louis, 50, joined thousands of fans in the streets to say goodbye to the heavy metal icon. The family members were all dressed in black and wore different items in Ozzy's honour. Photos from the procession showed Sharon hugging Kelly and holding Jack's hands as she broke down in front of a memorial for Ozzy, where the family laid purple flowers. Sharon and the kids then followed close behind as a hearse carrying the Prince of Darkness' body drove down Birmingham's popular Broad Street and paused at the Black Sabbath Bench and Bridge. Ozzy confirmed his Parkinson's diagnosis in 2020. Ozzy had also undergone multiple surgeries in recent years, including going under the knife for a debilitating spinal injury in 2019. Three years before his passing, Ozzy revealed just how he wanted to be remembered. The legendary rocker said 'survival is my legacy' during a 2022 interview with People. 'I mean, I'm 73. People go, 'Well, you're 70… why don't I throw the towel in?' Why should I? People still want to buy my records,' Ozzy told the outlet at the time. 'People still want to see me, so why should I? It motivates me to get off my backside and do something. I mean, if my career had gone down the toilet and I knew it was the end, I'd be pretty miserable.' Ozzy also noted what he wished to instill in others. 'Never give up,' he shared. 'If you've got a passion for something, you've got to find a way around it to carry on the passion.' The Telegram chat, named 'Art of Luiza', references her work pseudonym Luiza Rozova. Ms Krivonogikh didn't explicitly name Putin in either post, but has also never shot down the popular theories surrounding her true parentage. The budding artist was born in 2003 after a suspected affair between Putin and her mother, Svetlana, the President's then-housekeeper. The bombshell was first revealed after a 2020 investigation by Russian media outlet Proekt, citing Ms Krivonogikh's 'phenomenal resemblance' to Putin. He isn't listed on her birth certificate, but 'Vladimirovna' was included, translating to 'daughter of Vladimir'. In 2021, slain journalist and Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny exposed Ms Krivonogikh's Instagram, which showcased her life of luxury and her family's staggering wealth that many have attributed to their connection with the country's pesident. While Ms Krivonogikh originally celebrated life in the spotlight, she retreated after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2021 and her Instagram was suddenly shut down. She's since returned to the platform, but was more reserved in her posting at first, hiding her face in many photos. She's now seemingly changed her tune – and swapped sides on the devastating war after previously mourning her inability to 'make an extra lap around my beloved St Petersburg'. Ms Krivonogikh has since denounced her previous lifestyle of obscene wealth, speaking openly against her alleged father's actions in Ukraine. She also works in a Parisian art gallery that specialises in anti-war works. Ms Krivonogikh also adopted an extra pseudonym, Elizaveta Rudnova, inspired by Putin's late ally Oleg Rudnov – a cheeky stab at her elusive parentage. Still, critics of Putin haven't quite bought her reshaped image and insist that she shouldn't be working in a space where she could be interacting with Ukrainians, regardless of her stance.
