The Hindu review of the movie said, 'As always, the film is high on the glamour quotient, creating some thinly veiled sexual humour. However, the jokes don't land. It is hard to expect anything fresh from Nargis Fakhri and Jacqueline Fernandez. Soundarya Sharma joins their league here.
'One gets a feeling they are cast in multi-starrers because their dates don't clash with male stars. Chitrangada Singh and Sonam Bajwa are better actors, but this is a stage meant for giggling, shrieking, and shaking a leg in revealing outfits.'

Excited for Diljit Dosanjh's Detective Sherdil? Before the movie, watch his inspiration Sherlock on OTTplay Premium You absolutely cannot miss watching Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock, now available on OTTplay, for he serves as one of the biggest inspirations for Detective Sherdil. Inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories, the four season TV series builds intrigue with every case. Sherlock Holmes and a former army doctor, Dr. Watson, join hands to solve all kinds of mysteries thrown their way. They just have a knack for bringing justice the right way. In case you sought out comedy along with mystery, look no further than Vennela Kishore's Srikakulam Sherlock Holmes. This 2-hour movie, streaming on ETV Win, is thoroughly enjoyable even as the detective leaves on a journey to find the man behind beach murders around a coastal town. There are seven suspects, but who is the real murderer? Find out. If Sherlock Holmes is Detective Sherdil's videshi inspiration, he found the desi inspiration, too. Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, again inspired by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay's stories, is about 'Satyanweshi' (how Bakshi refers to himself), which literally translates to the truth seeker. He, too, has a companion in Ajit. The latter sticks around just for learning. In the chapter of Byomkesh Hotyamancha, Bakshi becomes a witness to a murder while attending a play at a theatre. Thus begins his journey to uncovering the spine-chilling secret about the murderer. Parambrata Chatterjee and Rudranil Ghosh team up as Bakshi and Ajit to investigate how Heena Mallick (played by Ayoshi Talukdar) dies. They take up the case after political leader Santosh Samaddar (Sumanta Mukherjee) pleads with them to look into the matter. As you can already expect, things are quite complicated even if they might not appear so. Hop on this journey for less than two hours to know the real story! Has Detective Sherdil got you intrigued to find out if you could be a detective, too? Then watch Detective 2015 and know if you have the skills it requires to be a true detective. Hosted by Chitanjeet Chakraborty, the reality show tests your detective skills. If you think you are ready, think again!

Exclusive - Father's Day 2025: Rahul Vaidya reflects on fatherhood and childhood memories; says 'Becoming a dad changed everything'

Singer Rahul Vaidya, known for his soulful voice and grounded personality, shared his heartfelt thoughts on Father's Day this year — but with a twist. Now that he has stepped into the role of a father himself, the meaning of the day has changed for him entirely. In an exclusive chat, he reflects on his own childhood memories, the values he's imbibed from his father, and how fatherhood has reshaped his perspective. Rahul believes that Father's Day was always meaningful, but the arrival of his little one has added new emotional depth. 'Father's Day was always special for me, but now that I am a father, it's become even more special to me, and I have kind of realised the importance of this day, even more than what it used to be for me,' he shares. Recalling his early years, Rahul opens up about one particularly fond memory. 'A father somehow in our society is not celebrated as much as Mother's Day, but every time my father used to take me out for badminton when I was very small — and then he would get me a soft drink after the session — that memory is very, very special for me,' he smiles. Rahul sees his father not just as a parent but as an example of how to live with humility. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo 'Most people around me say my dad is a very good human being. He's humble, straightforward, minds his own business, and remains happy in his own world. These are qualities I've really tried to learn and follow,' he shares. Like many in Indian households, Rahul experienced the quiet, reserved kind of love fathers often express. 'Till date, my father has never told me 'Well done beta, I'm proud of you.' In our culture, sometimes there's a respectful distance between fathers and children. But I know in my heart that he is very proud. In fact, I always say — the day I started earning at 17, he retired in his mind.' Becoming a dad has brought a shift in how Rahul views life. 'Even though I am a father, because my toddler is still so young, I haven't gotten that big 'Happy Father's Day' moment yet. But I feel very cute about it. It's a beautiful thought. I feel more responsible, and I look forward to every year – not just Father's Day, but fatherhood itself. It's very, very exciting.' Rahul Vaidya's take on fatherhood is deeply personal and honest — a tribute to his own father and a gentle glimpse into the father he's becoming. 'Is your filmmaker mother disappointed?': Zohran Mamdani shares Mira Nair's take on his videos

Indian-origin Democrat Zohran Mamdani has been turning heads in the 2025 New York mayoral race, taking on incumbent Andrew Cuomo with the hope of becoming the city's first Muslim and Indian-American mayor. The 33-year-old democratic socialist is the son of renowned Indian-American filmmaker Mira Nair and Ugandan academic Mahmood Mamdani. As his campaign gains momentum, Mamdani has cleverly woven Bollywood references and Hindi into his outreach to New York's diverse voter base. Appearing on the Throwing Fits podcast, Mamdani was asked: "Is your filmmaker mother disappointed that you are filming all your social media content on an iPhone and in 16x9?" Mamdani laughed before revealing that, far from being disappointed, Nair is always interested in his campaign's video production. "She asks me 'Why aren't you sending me cuts?'," Mamdani said. He added that his mother even jokes about the quality of his viral videos: "She was telling somebody, 'His stuff is so good, people are asking if I am making it.'" A post shared by Throwing Fits (@throwingfits) Nair has openly celebrated her son's political rise. After Mamdani won his election to the New York State Assembly, she posted on X: 'And Zohran is in! Change is gonna come.' Mamdani's unique campaign style includes one particularly viral video shot entirely in Hindi, amassing millions of views on social media. The video riffs off scenes and dialogues from Amitabh Bachchan's 1975 classic Deewar, with Mamdani cheekily reworking the iconic line "mere pass maa hai" to tell voters that they are what he has. Beyond his creative campaigning, Mamdani has laid out an ambitious progressive platform: guaranteeing housing for all New Yorkers, eliminating cash bail, banning solitary confinement, fixing the MTA, ending workplace discrimination, and championing social, racial, economic, and environmental justice. Born in Kampala, Uganda, Mamdani moved to New York City with his family at the age of seven and has called the city home ever since. (Also read: Who is Rama Duwaji?
