Notre Dame hosts commit Rodney Dunham and several key prospects

It's a big day for potential future Fighting Irish

Notre Dame's campus is bustling today, at least when it comes to visiting football recruits.
Five-star Fighting Irish commit Rodney Dunham, an edge rusher, led the way off the bus in South Bend. He was followed by wide receiver Bubba Frazier, edge rusher Ebenezer Ewetade, linebacker Kobe Clapper, offensive tackle Charlie Thom and defensive lineman Elijah Golden.
Notre Dame has been garnering praise for its recruiting classes, and while there's no guarantee any of these players commit to the Irish -- or if any of them will pan out in terms of production, should they sign -- it's clear that head coach Marcus Freeman knows that he and his staff will have to work hard to get back to, and beyond, the level reached in 2024.
Recruiting is never-ending, and it's a good sign that the Irish are hosting so many touted prospects.

Notre Dame listed as a blue-blood football program

Fighting Irish join Alabama and rivals Michigan and USC Notre Dame is a blueblood football program. At least according to On3 Sports. The outlet used this criteria: A team must be in the top 15 in program win percentage over a minimum of 750 games, and it must have at least one national title in two of three eras -- AP or coaches poll in the poll era, winner of the final game in the Bowl Championship Series or College Football Playoff era. The other schools on the list are Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and USC. Just missing the cut were Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Nebraska and Penn State. FOX College Football analyst ranks Michigan State as one of the worst teams in the Big Ten

Did @RJ_Young really rank all 136 FBS teams ahead of the season? Yes, yes he did 🙌🔥Where did your team land on his rankings? 🤔📊 It's officially disrespect season for the Michigan State football program. After a disappointing 5-7 season in Jonathan Smith's first year in East Lansing, some analysts are starting to pour the disrespect onto the Spartans' football team. FOX College Football analyst RJ Young put out his 136-team college football rankings on Monday morning, and Michigan State came in at No. 97, good for second-to-last in the Big Ten, just ahead of Purdue at No. 99. This ranking feels a little ridiculous, honestly. Michigan State has added a lot of talent this offseason. Aidan Chiles has been getting a lot of hype as a breakout candidate this year. Jonathan Smith had a full year to install his program and adjust the personnel to his liking after spending last offseason just trying to field a competitive team. The Spartans should be on the upswing this year, so it was a little strange to see them so far behind teams like Northwestern and Maryland, who they out-performed last year, even.
