Harry Styles Joins Several Musical Legends Thanks To His Vinyl Success

Forbes15-04-2025
The Official Charts Company is celebrating a major milestone, and the chart compiler has been pulling back the curtain to reveal which artists have ruled one of the U.K.'s most competitive tallies for the past decade. In honor of the vinyl chart's 10-year anniversary, the organization has shared a list of the bestselling new vinyl albums (meaning non-catalog titles) in the country since 2015.
As expected, Taylor Swift dominates the list, but she's not the only major name with more than one winner. Harry Styles also manages to appear multiple times inside the ranking's top 10, as his fans don't just snap up the music he releases – they make sure to do so in huge numbers on vinyl.
Styles snags a pair of placements inside the top 10 on the Official Charts Company's ranking of the most-purchased new vinyl albums of the past 10 years in the U.K. Unsurprisingly, only two other artists can claim the same.
His most recent full-length, Harry's House, leads the charge at No. 3. Not far behind is Fine Line, which lands at No. 6 on the list. That collection marked a turning point in Styles' solo career, featuring smashes like 'Watermelon Sugar' and 'Adore You,' both of which helped establish him not just as a rocker, but also a pop star in his own right.
Styles' two bestsellers put him in the company of Taylor Swift and David Bowie. Both musical giants also claim more than one title inside the top 10.
Looking beyond just the loftiest tier, Styles accrues one more bestseller. All three of his solo studio albums appear inside the top 20. His debut self-titled set, Harry Styles, isn't quite a top 10 performer, but it does come in at No. 17.
Thanks at least in part to vinyl sales, Styles' albums have also found success on the main Official Albums chart in the U.K., which tracks total consumption. Harry's House made a grand entrance at No. 1 and remained a favorite for months. Fine Line came close to doing the same, peaking at No. 2 – his only miss – while Harry Styles also reached the summit back in 2017.

Tomorrow X Together Joins BTS With A New Bestseller

There are several names in the K-pop space that regularly beat and then tie one another by releasing new albums and EPs, all of which become hugely successful in the United States. These groups are known for their prolific output, and some acts manage more than one set per year, breaking into the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart over and over again. It seems like every few weeks, someone's record is matched with a new project — which Tomorrow X Together manages this time around with its new bestseller, The Star Chapter: Together. The Star Chapter: Together Debuts on the Billboard 200 Tomorrow X Together launches The Star Chapter: Together at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 this frame. The project earns the K-pop favorites a seventh appearance inside the top 10 on the all-encompassing ranking of the most consumed albums in America. As it arrives, the boy band matches several other names for a highly coveted spot in Billboard chart history. TXT Joins BTS, Ateez, Seventeen and Twice With seven top 10s in its discography, Tomorrow X Together is now on the same level as Ateez, BTS, Seventeen, and Twice. All five acts have sent the same number of projects into the highest tier, and several have managed a seventh just in the past few weeks. Both BTS and Twice recently collected new top 10 wins in America, and all five are expected to deliver additional material, if not before the end of 2025, then in early 2026. TXT Beats Stray Kids Before The Star Chapter: Together, Tomorrow X Together was tied with Stray Kids at six top 10s apiece on the Billboard 200. That meant the two groups were matched for fifth place on this all-time list. Now, Tomorrow X Together jumps into a tie for first while Stray Kids decline to sixth. Stray Kids are also known for their frequent releases, so a seventh top 10 could be coming soon. First-Week Sales Propel TXT to No. 1 Luminate reports that in its first full tracking week, The Star Chapter: Together shifted 65,000 equivalent units in the U.S. Of that sum, 62,000 were pure sales – enough to send the K-pop act to No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart. Most No. 1s on the Top Album Sales Chart Tomorrow X Together also moves up on several historic lists connected to the Top Album Sales ranking. The group breaks its tie with Seventeen and now claims the most No. 1s ever among K-pop stars, while also advancing to 10 top 10s. In doing so, the boy band becomes just the second South Korean act to rack up double-digit appearances in the top 10 on the purchase-only tally, joining BTS, as that group has done so 11 times.

Black Sabbath Sends Several Career-Making Hits To Important New Peaks

In the United Kingdom, the Official Charts Company caps every musical act at three spots on the Official Singles chart — the all-consumption ranking of the most popular songs in the country — at one time. Following the death of Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath easily hits that limit with three of its most recognizable cuts. All of them climb this frame, and two earn new personal bests as millions mourn his passing. 'War Pigs' and 'Iron Man' Reach New Peaks Both 'War Pigs' and 'Iron Man' debuted on the Official Singles chart last week, and now they're moving north. 'War Pigs' rises from No. 79 to No. 47, while 'Iron Man' pushes from No. 93 to No. 48. Those positions now stand as the highest either track has reached on the main songs tally. Black Sabbath's Bestsellers Pure purchases are largely fueling the ascent of both 'War Pigs' and 'Iron Man,' as the pair also finds room on the Official Single Sales chart and Official Singles Downloads rosters across the pond. On those sales-focused lists, 'War Pigs' lives inside the top 40, dipping only a few spaces from where it started last frame, while 'Iron Man' sits around the middle of the 100-spot rosters. 'Paranoid' Is Black Sabbath's Top Performer Black Sabbath's top performer on the Official Singles chart at the moment is 'Paranoid,' which jumps 12 spaces to No. 22. Several versions of the cut have appeared on the list throughout the decades, according to the Official Charts Company. The one on the tally now can't match the original's success, as in the summer of 1970, 'Paranoid' debuted and climbed to No. 4. It remains the band's only top 10 and its longest-charting single, with 18 weeks spent on the tally. The updated 'Paranoid' is also gaining on streaming platforms. On the Official Streaming chart, the cut leaps from No. 67 — where it launched last frame — to No. 26. It also lives on the Official Single Sales and Official Singles Downloads rankings at the same time, as it's the group's biggest win right now. Fans Revisit Catalog After Osbourne's Death Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, just weeks after Black Sabbath's farewell concert in Birmingham, England. The band's updated presence on the charts in the U.K. reflect an outpouring of support from fans revisiting the catalog. Impressively, the group's fates on the weekly lists have continued to improve, instead of peaking the frame following the singer's passing.

Taylor Swift's ‘Reputation' Outperforms Her Other Albums — Twice Over

Taylor Swift's Reputation has always been one of her most polarizing albums, but for many fans, it remains a personal favorite. As speculation fades about the possibility of a Reputation (Taylor's Version), listeners in the United Kingdom continue to embrace the original — and this frame, the set enjoys one of its biggest weeks in some time on the charts. Reputation Appears on Multiple Rankings This week, Reputation is one of six Swift albums on the U.K. charts. It's the only one of that bunch to claim space on four separate tallies — double the number of appearances that any of her other titles manage. The collection rises on the Official Albums (No. 75), Official Albums Streaming (No. 71), and the Official Physical Albums charts (No. 81). Reputation Returns to the Sales Ranking In addition to its growth on three tallies, Reputation also returns to the Official Albums Sales chart. On that roster, which looks at the top-selling titles across the nation, Swift's set is back at No. 91. The bestseller has now appeared on the list for 166 weeks, and it has previously reached No. 1. That's true of nearly every tally where it currently appears in the U.K., and now just the sales ranking…though it did stall in third place on the streaming chart. Three Taylor Swift Albums Return to Multiple Charts Reputation is one of four Taylor Swift albums that appear on more than one ranking in the U.K. this frame. Alongside Lover, Folklore, and The Tortured Poets Department, the set is present on both the Official Albums chart and the Official Albums Streaming ranking — and all four rise on both lists. Other Taylor Swift Sets Also Rise Swift's other U.K. chart wins include Midnights and 1989. Those two return to the Official Albums Streaming chart, with Midnights back at No. 92 and 1989 reentering at No. 99. Those two titles only live on the ranking of the most-streamed projects in the country, though they both enjoyed lengthy stays on several other rosters as well. Why Reputation (Taylor's Version) Isn't Likely Swift began re-recording her first six albums after her former label sold the masters, so that she could own — and profit from — her music. Recently, she acquired the rights to the original Reputation, which means she now benefits financially from streams and sales of that original edition. Without the same business incentive that fueled earlier re-recordings, a Reputation (Taylor's Version) doesn't seem likely.
