In a Vitality Blast match at Trent Bridge, Nottinghamshire defeated Lancashire despite early struggles. The game stood out for exceptional performances from 17-year-old
Farhan Ahmed
, who took a hat-trick and five wickets, and Tom Moores, who scored a match-winning 75 runs.
Lancashire were bowled out for 126, but Notts initially struggled before securing victory with 28 balls remaining.
The young sensation Farhan Ahmed has continued his remarkable rise in cricket. Last season, he became Britain's youngest player to take ten wickets in a first-class match. His five-wicket haul, including a hat-trick in the final three balls, proved crucial in restricting Lancashire.

Lancashire's innings started promisingly with 38 runs from 19 balls. However, their momentum quickly faded as Notts' spinners, including Farhan and Patterson-White, struck early. The batting side tumbled to 53 for 5 in eight overs. A 62-run partnership between Matty Hurst (36) and Chris Green (29) provided some resistance but wasn't enough.
Notts' chase got off to a shaky start. They were reeling at 14 for 4 after Tom Hartley's double strike in the second over.

Then came Tom Moores' game-changing innings. He smashed 75 off 42 balls, forming a crucial 81-run partnership with Lyndon James (20). Despite Moores' run-out near the end, Notts reached their target of 127 with plenty of balls to spare.
The victory was bittersweet for Nottinghamshire. Their poor net run rate meant they missed the quarter-finals for the third time in four seasons. Meanwhile, Lancashire had already secured their quarter-final spot, maintaining their unique record of reaching the T20 knockout stages for eight consecutive seasons.

Luka Doncic wants LeBron James to finish his career with Los Angeles Lakers despite growing tensions

Luka Doncic opened up about LeBron James (Image via Instagram / @lukadoncic) NBA icon Luka Doncic recently expressed his opinions clearly regarding playing with another giant, LeBron James . In recent weeks, the relationship between two players has been in the news. This happened particularly after a number of stories indicated that the four-time NBA champion wasn't overly happy about the team focusing on the new player from a business and game perspective. Meanwhile, according to a recent Dallas Hoops Journal report, Luka Doncic doesn't want the NBA's all-time top scorer to push but to finish his career in purple and gold. Luka Doncic opens up about LeBron James while staying in the Los Angeles Lakers amid trade rumors LeBron James and Luka Doncic have a history. In a stunning trade that sent 2020 NBA champion Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for the Slovenian guard, the Los Angeles Lakers' front staff matched them together prior to the 2025 trade deadline. The Slovenian superstar has made his position clear behind closed doors. This happened despite mounting tensions about LeBron James' schedule and the team's decision to center itself around Luka Doncic. Additionally, rumors started circulating after Rich Paul's cryptic remarks went viral as the NBA giant decided to opt into the last year of his contract. Moreover, an ESPN report claiming that the NBA giant felt "disrespected" by the L.A. Lakers ' choice to switch to Luka Doncic further ignited a fire. However, neither the team's front office nor LeBron James' camp have formally pursued a trade or buyout. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic is making every effort to silence the commotion. According to him, the NBA icon will spend the rest of his NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers. He wanted him to retire while wearing the yellow and purple jersey. The NBA icon will get $52.6 million in the final year of his contract next season. It would be exactly what Luka Doncic wants if he decides to retire following the 2025–2026 season. On the other hand, this weekend, the 26-year-old Luka Doncic is anticipated to sign a contract extension with the L.A. Lakers. 'Shubman Gill made batting look easy, but …': Ryan ten Doeschate rues captain's run-out, defends Jasprit Bumrah omission

Ryan ten Doeschate (Pic credit: Sahil Malhotra/ in London: India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate described the first day of the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval as 'fair' for the visitors but conceded that the run-out of captain Shubman Gill and the absence of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah had a major bearing on proceedings. Scorecard: India vs England 5th Test India ended Day 1 at 204/6 after being asked to bat under overcast skies. Recalled pacers Gus Atkinson (2/31) and Josh Tongue (2/47) did the bulk of the damage, while Atkinson also effected a direct-hit run-out to dismiss Gill for 21 — just as the India skipper was starting to look ominous. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Speaking to the media after stumps, ten Doeschate lamented the timing and manner of Gill's dismissal. 'He is in the touch of his life, he made batting look easy today,' he said. 'We spoke about accumulating during the break, and then… a misjudgment of the run. That was unfortunate.' India vs England 5th Test Preview: Can Shubman Gill's India level the series at The Oval? Gill's run-out came when he attempted a sharp single after tapping the ball to short cover. Atkinson swooped in and nailed the stumps, catching the skipper well short. Poll Will India successfully reach 300 runs in their innings? Yes, definitely Maybe, depends on the lower order No, unlikely On Bumrah's absence in the series decider, ten Doeschate explained, 'Quite a complex situation with Jasprit Bumrah. He has bowled a lot of overs. Like he said before the tour, he was going to play three games…' India had already planned to manage Bumrah's workload, especially after his long injury layoff earlier in the year. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Unsold 2021 Cars Now Almost Free - Prices May Surprise You Unsold Cars | Search Ads Learn More Undo His exclusion was part of four changes India made, also leaving out injured Rishabh Pant, Anshul Kamboj and Shardul Thakur. The assistant coach remained hopeful, praising Karun Nair (52*) and Washington Sundar (19*) for their defiant partnership. 'It's a fair day — if we can push to 300, it will be a great score. Guys by and large did very well today. Sai [Sudharsan] played very nicely… two very good balls by Tongue,' he noted. England, meanwhile, suffered a blow when Chris Woakes left the field late in the day after a shoulder injury. With India trailing 1-2 in the series, the onus now lies on their lower order to extend the fight on Day 2. IND vs ENG 5th Test: 'Doesn't look too great' – Gus Atkinson fears Chris Woakes could miss rest of final Test

Chris Woakes of England (Photo by) in London: Gus Atkinson made an immediate impact on his return to the England XI but admitted the team was concerned about Chris Woakes ' injury after a stop-start first day at The Oval. 'I don't know too much, but it doesn't look too great,' Atkinson said at the press conference. 'It's the last game of the series, so it's a big shame.' Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Woakes left the field late in the day with a shoulder injury sustained while fielding. England were already a bowler short after a wayward performance from Jamie Overton and Josh Tongue. Atkinson, though, had a good outing with two wickets and a direct-hit run-out of Shubman Gill . 'If we can keep them to 230-240, we're still in a good position,' he said. India ended the day on 204 for 6, with Karun Nair producing a gutsy unbeaten 52 in testing conditions. It was Nair's first Test fifty in 3,148 days, the last being his triple century in 2016. He walked in with India wobbling and put together a crucial 51-run stand with Washington Sundar (19*). Nair's knock, which included seven boundaries, was a rare moment of calm on a day when the ball constantly beat the bat. He brought up his half-century with a couple off Jacob Bethell. With just 64 overs possible due to rain, India will be the happier side after fighting back from 153 for 6. England, meanwhile, will hope Woakes can recover in time to bowl again.
