Elliott Wright supports James Argent in speech after domestic violence charge

Daily Mirror23-05-2025
James Argent took to the stage to perform weeks after being arrested for domestic violence against his girlfriend, Nicoline Arturrson, at Elliott Wright's restaurant in Marbella
Mark Wright's cousin Elliott referred to the 'trials and tribulations' he went through with James 'Arg' Argent as the former TOWIE star took to the stage weeks after his domestic violence arrest.
'Never gonna make you cry… Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you,' crooned Argent as he shamelessly returned to the stage with a medley of gushing love songs after being arrested for domestic violence against his model girlfriend.

The disgraced TOWIE star sang a slew of romantic hits, danced with hen parties and spoke about his Towie past as he took to the stage at Olivia's La Cala restaurant in Marbella, owned by Elliott, just days after girlfriend Nicoline Artursson's catalogue of injuries were revealed in full.

Argent had been arrested by Spanish police on May 5 after former an incident at the home they were sharing when a row turned violent. After accepting a plea bargain Argent avoided a jail sentence, and on Thursday night returned to the same Spanish resort the incident took place in to entertain diners.
Performing at the restaurant owned by Mark Wright's cousin Elliott, a newly-single Arg belted out a slew of gushing love songs from Madness' It Must be Love to the Temptations classic My Girl.
'This is party season, it's party time,' began the TV regular as he started his set. He later asked the crowd: 'I don't suppose any of you lot have seen a little show called The Only Way is Essex before?'
When approached by the Mirror if he had any words for girlfriend Nicoline, Argent replied that he could not talk about the incident.

However, his former ITV cast-mate Elliott did appear to allude to the recent controversy as he introduced Arg to the stage.
"He's been there for me like a rock. And that's what friendship is. That's how I've been brought up. We stand strong together no matter what happens," said Elliott.

'We've been through so much, trials and tribulations. When this place got burned down he was there for me through and through' said Elliott, referring to the 2021 blaze that completely gutted his beachside haunt, that has become known for entertainment nights where reality stars mingle with regular punters on the dancefloor.
Sharing his support, Elliott continued: 'And I just want to say that I love you. You're one of my best friends. Now get up here and let's have a proper party tonight,' he urged Argent, who was waiting in the wings, microphone in hand, before the pair shared an embrace.
Earlier in the night, Elliott had been one of the first to welcome Argent as he nervously arrived at the restaurant looking sombre and dressed in head to toe black.

After smiling and posing for photos on the terrace overlooking the sea front, Argent's mood appeared to lighten as he headed inside and positioned himself at the top table amongst Elliott's Wright friends and family including his wife Sadie.
Kicking off his 30 minute set, he asked the crowd: 'Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Olivia's La Cala. Are you up for a party tonight or what?'
Bringing the performance to a close as the evening drew on, Argent appeared emotional as he thanked the crowd: 'It means the world to me thank you for your support.'

Katie Price reveals only ex her family still talk to as Alex Reid vows to wage war

Mum-of-five, Katie Price, has a volatile relationship with most of her exes, but there is one who her family still talk to - 13 years after they broke up Katie Price has revealed the one ex-boyfriend her family still speak to - 13 years after they broke up. The mum-of-five, 47, who has a volatile relationship with most of her exes, spoke was reminded of her former flame on the latest episode of her podcast. ‌ When she was 34, Katie embarked on a passionate relationship with Argentinian hunk, Leandro Penna, now 39, after meeting at one of Elton John's parties. ‌ They ended up getting engaged before calling it quits soon after, with Leandro claiming Katie 'drove him insane.' However, the glamour icon's sister, Sophie, revealed the star's family still speak to the polo player. It comes as Katie's other ex, Alex Reid, promised to 'reveal the truth' about the model after leaking a video of the star appearing to count wads of cash after declaring herself bankrup t. ‌ Opening up about her fondness for Leo, Sophie, said: "Do you know what, I like Leo. I do like Leo and (my husband) Harry still talks to Leo now and then on Facebook. And he sort of says, 'How are you?'" Katie's whirlwind relationship with the Argentine came two years after her split from Peter Andre. They, of course, had to put up with a language barrier, with Katie not speaking any of Leo's native Spanish, however, they made it work via the 'language of love'. "If life isn't for livin' and lovin', then what is it for? And anyway - three is a lucky number," she told The Sun after getting engaged. Katie and Leo eventually split at the end of 2012, after a flurry of fiery rows, with Leo later claiming he dumped the OnlyFans star because she was driving him "insane". ‌ Speaking to Caras magazine in Argentina, he said at the time of their break-up: "I left her simply because she is crazy. Katie's brain is not wired right, or the wires don't connect properly. "I don't know what's wrong with her. I was thinking it over recently and one day I packed my bags and left. "There was nothing else I could do. She was driving me insane." ‌ Leo added: "That's it, there's no going back." In contrast, Katie said she wished her ex well, but her generosity didn't last long. After their split, the glamour icon claimed she had been forced to hand back her engagement ring. ‌ The allegation was made during a X/ Twitter exchange with her friend when presenter, Phil Turner, tweeted in 2013: "I'm sorry to hear your heart ring has been repossessed." To which Katie replied: "Just did (hand it back)! That man took advantage of my generosity if only peeps could see the emails all over Christmas him wanting me back. (sic)" Katie's spokesperson told the Evening Standard at the time: "Katie found out that the ring had not been paid for by Leo and so has returned it rather than have the jeweller out of pocket and Leo pursued for the debt." However, Leandro slammed Katie's version of events, saying the ring didn't arrive until after they had broken-up, and claimed it was The Pricey who ordered the sparkler for herself. He told the outlet: "The ring in question has never been in my possession. It was a ring Katie Price designed, ordered and had delivered directly to herself from her personal jeweller."

Kate Ferdinand on her chaotic and ‘special' life with Rio and their five kids

With five children aged between two and 19, Kate Ferdinand admits family life is 'special and crazy and loving and loud'. The former The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) cast member, who has two young children with her husband, the former footballer Rio Ferdinand, and is stepmum to his three teenage children, happily agrees family life, and particularly mealtimes, is chaotic – and very special too. Advertisement 'The chaos!' she says with a laugh. 'There's five kids and it's so loud I can't even tell you, you can't even hear yourself think. There's a lot of over-stimulation. But also, it's so special and crazy and loving and loud and everything that you could wish it to be. 'The bond between the kids is amazing.' Ferdinand married former England and Manchester United captain Rio in 2019, becoming stepmum to his three children Lorenz, now 19, Tate, 17, and Tia, 14, from his first marriage to Rebecca Ellison, who died of breast cancer in 2015 at the age of just 34. Kate also has two children – Cree, aged four, and Shae, two, with Rio, and founded a podcast, Blended , to 'celebrate' blended families. Advertisement View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kate Ferdinand (@xkateferdinand) The two eldest boys are both footballers for Brighton & Hove Albion and live away from home, but Ferdinand says they both come home regularly and she tries to make sure the whole family sits down for meals together whenever possible. 'Sitting at the table and having dinner is a massive thing in our house – I feel like it's massive for talking,' she explains. 'It's where everything comes out, where you reconnect after the day, but it doesn't happen every single night, because obviously the big boys don't live at home any more because they play football. 'We're a very sporty household and our kids have a lot of clubs, so it's near impossible to get everyone there every night.' The Ferdinand's aren't alone in finding it tough to all get together for dinner – new research from HelloFresh has found almost one in three (31.8%) of parents questioned say their children's hobbies and club schedules make it difficult to share dinner together midweek, and the the situation gets worse once school term begins again, with 62% of parents saying mealtimes feel 'more squeezed'. Advertisement But, like Ferdinand, more than half of parents (55%) agree that shared mealtimes are beneficial for children's development and a great chance for the family to reconnect. So Ferdinand has teamed up with HelloFresh to encourage families to set aside at least one night a week to sit down together for a family meal. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kate Ferdinand (@xkateferdinand) 'We eat together when we're all at home – we sit at the table, that's part of our family routine,' Ferdinand says. 'Don't get me wrong. The little ones are wanting to run off, but I try and be quite firm with it. They have to ask to leave the table, and they've got to take their plate up. It's quite funny, Shae's only two, and she actually takes her plate up and puts it on the side. 'We all love it because we're all talking at the dinner table – everyone's so busy, but we reconnect. And it's mental, and there's food getting thrown about everywhere, drinks are being spilled. But it's the one time we're all together, normally.' Advertisement Fortunately, the Ferdinands have an extendable dining table, because as well as the seven family members, she says the boys sometimes bring their girlfriends for dinner, and meals can be for 12-16 people. Kate does the cooking, but she does get help from all the family, including Rio – if she asks for it. 'The kids are great,' she says. 'I have to ask for help, but when I do ask, they help me. We all have our own little jobs – I'll do the cooking, the kids lay the table, they help with the washing up and the tidying up. There's a bit of teamwork, really. 'Rio's very good at seasoning the meat – it's a bit of a collaboration. To be honest, Rio carves for me and then pretends he made the meal. Advertisement 'But if Rio's home, he'll cook as well. Everyone gets involved.' Cooking for the family: Kate Ferdinand (HelloFresh/PA) Even the older boys will lend a hand with cooking, and their proud stepmum says: 'Tate's just turned 17, and he loves cooking. He actually thinks he's better than me. And that's a little debate in our house – I've said cook a few more times for me, and I'll let you know.' She says that while Tate cooks for himself, he's yet to cook a meal for the whole family. 'Everything changes when you're cooking for seven people,' she says. 'When the quantities go up, it becomes a little bit more difficult!' But she hopes he'll give catering for the whole clan a try one day, and says: 'As a parent, you always want to do everything for your kids, and it's only in recent years that I've realised you've really got to let them make mistakes and try stuff themselves and take a step back so they can thrive. 'That's something I used to struggle with, but now I've been doing a bit more of that, and it's paid off so much, because you can just see them thriving in so many aspects of their life.' But with such a busy life as a wife, mum and podcaster, how does Ferdinand herself thrive? Speaking when all the kids are out and the house is peaceful for once, she says: 'Don't get me wrong, it's the summer holidays now, and I'm glad they've gone out so I can make calls for a few hours.' Hugs from mum: Kate Ferdinand and her son Cree (Kate Ferdinand/PA) She agrees it's nice to get a bit of peace sometimes, and says: 'Absolutely – I think any parent that doesn't say that might be fibbing.' She occasionally manages to wangle a bit of 'me-time' – although it might take getting up at the crack of dawn to do it. 'It's not a real representation when it's the summer holidays,' she explains. 'But normally when the kids are at school and I'm not working, I'll prioritise doing things like trying to get some me-time – this morning I got up extra-early and took the dog out for a walk at 6.45am just to have a minute. 'Because sometimes I feel like you need to give yourself 10 minutes, even if it's just walking around the block, just to think before the day starts. It's not a half a day in the spa like it was years and years ago, pre-kids, but it's just about finding those moments.' Kate Ferdinand is a Back to School ambassador for the recipe box delivery service HelloFresh and is showing how prioritising just one meal together a week has improved her family's wellbeing.

's Ella Rae Wise and Freddie Bentley united during filming on Wednesday, following an explosive row with their co-stars. The best pals joined their fellow co-stars Danni Imbert, Livvy, Becks and Junaid Ahmed at Aura Restaurant in Loughton for evening drinks. A number of TOWIE stars came to blows as they were dragged apart from each other in an explosive showdown during Sunday's episode of the ITV2 programme. The popular reality show returned to our screens this weekend for its 36th series, which involved the cast jetting off to Portugal. Meanwhile, Amber Turner, Courtney Green, Chloe Meadows, Elma Pazar and Harry Derbidge filmed scenes at Restaurant Sherekhan in Enfield. At the start of the series, a Whatsapp message was brought up which was about how Freddie, 27, wasn't impressed with how any of his co-stars showed his support towards his best pal Ella, 25, while she was in the Big Brother house. Ella admitted that she expected some support from Jordan Brook, 28, his girlfriend Sophie Kasaei, 35, and the rest of the cast - however they failed to post anything on social media. Tensions started to rise as Ella confronted Jordan about it, while Freddie, Junaid, 30, and Joe Blackman, 27, listened in on the sun lounges next to them. Dan Edgar, 35 - who is Ella Rae's ex boyfriend - is best mates with Jordan and told her: 'I would be wrong and I would be two-faced Fred, like you've called me in the past, if Dan is sitting with me going through a lot and I start posting about you.' Ella replied: 'Sophie wouldn't stand it if you went on a bender.' Sophie, who was sitting on a sun lounger, said: 'I actually wouldn't mind. I'd be with him, that's why.' Jordan told Ella: 'Yeah she wouldn't care.' 'Desperate,' Ella sneakily added. Meanwhile Amy Childs, 35, and Lauren Goodger, 38, were watching on from a distance and Amy confessed: 'Oh my God I can't even look!' At the start of the instalment, a Whatsapp message was brought up which was about how Freddie, 27, wasn't impressed with how any of his co-stars showed his support towards his best pal Ella, 25, (pictured) while she was in the Big Brother house Becks (L) and Livvy (R) are the latest newcomers on the ITV show, after joining the show last year The popular reality show returned to our screens this weekend for its 36th series, which involved the cast jetting off to Portugal (Junaid pictured) Meanwhile, Amber Turner (L), Courtney Green, Chloe Meadows, Elma Pazar (R) and Harry Derbidge filmed scenes at Restaurant Sherekhan in Enfield 'It's been a long day. I know, I feel awkward, Lauren told her. Ella got up and removed herself from the conversation, to which Jordan told her: 'Don't call my bird desperate.' Sophie, 35, fumed: 'Who is calling me desperate?!' Jordan pointed at Ella and said: 'Her.' As Ella walked off she said: 'You're all meant to be in your 30s, grow the f*** up!' Freddie then chimed in and said: 'It's getting ridiculous.' Sophie walked over to Freddie and Dani and asked: 'What the f*** have we done?' Dani pointed out the couple and said: 'They're not the problem!' 'He is!' Freddie replied. 'He's getting involved in my conversation.' Jordan walked over and told him: 'I am not getting involved.' Becoming irate he added: 'I'm getting involved. I am trying to make peace here. You've got the hump with me. I'm making peace. I'm sitting here trying to make a conversation, I'm being a gentleman, trying to have a conversation.' Freddie explained: 'I don't understand why you haven't supported, it's literally all pathetic.' 'You're pathetic!' Jordan fumed back. Sophie chimed in: 'The messages?' Freddie replied: 'And you deserved it! You all deserved it. Deserved to be told about yourselves because at the end of the day if you don't care go away then.' The camera went back to Lauren and Amy, and Lauren said: 'I've never known so much drama in Essex in all my life.' Amy giggled: 'We're in Portugal hun.' Freddie fumed at Sophie: 'Don't even stand there and speak to me.' It then got very heated between the pair, with a lot of swearing, followed by Jordan pushing Freddie. 'Who are you pushing mate?!' Freddie shouted. Dani and Junaid even had to step in to break things up. Junaid told Jordan: 'Don't start on him,' before the pair skulked off in opposite directions.
