Conclave on National Education Policy begins at NIT-C

Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of the National Board of Accreditation and former Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education, inaugurated the two-day national conclave on 'Implementation of NEP 2020: Moving Towards Academic Excellence' at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, West Campus, NIT-Calicut (NIT-C), on Friday.
NIT-C Director Prasad Krishna presided over the event.
Noted academicians, including Ved Prakash, former Chairman of the University Grants Commission; A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad; B. Ravi, Director, NITK Surathkal; and Prem Lal Patel, Director, VNIT Nagpur, took part in the conclave that aims to foster robust collaboration and facilitate knowledge sharing among Centrally funded institutions and State/UT governments to ensure the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 across the nation.
The NIT-C has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education to mentor six universities in Kerala (University of Calicut, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Innovation and Technology, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Science University (Wayanad), Kerala University of Health and Allied Sciences, and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University).
The universities were represented by 48 delegates alongside participants from other prestigious institutes, including IITs and NITs. More than 225 faculty members from various departments within the NIT-C are also participating in the event.

National conference ‘Bhasyotsava' to begin on August 3 at National Sanskrit University

National Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.S.R. Krishnamurthy on Saturday announced that the three-day national conference 'Bhasyotsava' will be held at the campus in Tirupati from Sunday (August 3, 2025). The conference will discuss the inauguration of Akshara Purushottama Mandir in the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha tradition (modeled after the temple constructed in Abu Dhabi). Addressing the media here on Saturday (August 2, 2025), Prof. Krishnamurthy mentioned a MoU with international Swaminarayan institutions for research collaborations and establishing a replica temple in the campus heritage wing. 'Bhasyotsava' will jointly be organised by the Indian Philosophical Research Council, Swaminarayan Research Institution, Akshardham, and Utkal Peetham of the university. Notable guests include UGC Vice-Chairman Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, and representatives of prominent philosophical and academic bodies. The opening ceremony will feature an online address by the Acharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and the President of the Swaminarayan Research Institution. The valedictory ceremony will be attended by Odisha Governor K. Hari Babuand and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The university also announced implementation of new research initiatives as per National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 from the 2025-26 academic year, and that spot admissions for various Sanskrit programmes will be open until August 14.

1 2 Kolkata: The Institute of Health Science (IHS) at Presidency University is set to begin a cutting-edge four-year bachelor programme (honours with research) in biotechnology at the New Town campus from this academic session. The university has invited online applications from students until Aug 4. The course will have 40 seats. The multidisciplinary programme has been designed in alignment with NEP 2020 and offers an in-depth exploration of the molecular and cellular processes that govern life, spanning organisms from viruses and bacteria to plants and animals. Registrar Debajyoti Konar said, "Students will gain understanding of the molecular basis of health and disease, gain insights into pathogenesis, and learn to apply the latest biotechnological tools and techniques to solve real-world challenges in research, diagnostics, and industry. This course will be integrated into the existing MSc programme in the allied fields at IHS." It will also provide a strong foundation in multiple disciplines allied with biotechnology." The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Sample Question Papers (SQPs) and Marking Schemes (MS) for Classes 10 and 12 for the academic session 2025-26. These resources are now available for download on the official academic website of the board — CBSE Class 10th Compartment Result 2025: CBSE supplementary exam result dates in the past According to the official notification, the purpose of releasing the sample papers is to offer a broad template for both teachers and students. These papers aim to ensure curriculum coverage with uniformity across schools and serve as a guide to the design of the question papers to be used in the Board examinations. As per the CBSE circular, the assessment scheme for Classes 10 and 12 remains unchanged for the academic year 2025-26. The same scheme that was in place during 2024-25 will be followed this year as well. The Class 10 sample question papers have been made available for a wide range of subjects. These include core subjects like Science, Mathematics (Basic and Standard), Social Science, English Language and Literature, Hindi Course A and B. Additionally, question papers are also available for various other languages such as Sanskrit, Urdu, Punjabi, and more. For Class 12, sample papers have been released across multiple streams – Science, Commerce, and Humanities. Subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science, and Informatics Practices in the Science stream. In the Commerce stream, Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics papers are available. The Humanities stream includes subjects like History, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, and Psychology. Sample papers are also available for languages and elective subjects, including scheduled languages. Notably, many major subjects such as Physics, Sociology, and History are also offered with Hindi translations of the question papers for accessibility. CBSE has also made available updated support material and books for different school levels for the ongoing academic year. These resources are designed to support students in skill-based and vocational subjects introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) framework. NEP 2020, Five Years On: Curricular flexibility improves, but multiple entry-exit remains rigid For middle school students (classes 6 to 8), particularly those in Classes 6 and 8, CBSE has introduced a new skill module in Artificial Intelligence. The module, coded as 901, is intended to offer early exposure to AI concepts and promote future-ready skills among young learners. At the secondary level (classes 9 and 10), CBSE continues to provide vocational subjects such as Information Technology. Available under subject code 402, the support material for both Class IX and X can be downloaded. These materials include curriculum guides and practice content aligned with CBSE's emphasis on experiential learning. For senior secondary students (for classes 11 and 12), CBSE has published extensive learning material for skill subjects like Web Application (subject code 803) and Artificial Intelligence (subject code 843). For Artificial Intelligence, detailed handbooks are available separately for Class XI and XII, including Student Handbooks, Teacher Handbooks, and Project Cookbooks to aid in hands-on learning and project-based evaluation.
