‘Straight No Chaser' to bring holiday tunes to Mohegan Sun this winter
Their 'Holiday Road Tour' is set to stop in Connecticut on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m.

According to Mohegan Sun, the tour will coincide with the group's release of a full-length collection of holiday songs called 'Holiday Road.'
'For Straight No Chaser, it absolutely is the most wonderful time of the year,' group member Walter Chase said. 'This year, we poured our hearts into our latest album, Holiday Road. I am so excited to see which songs will be our audience's favorites! If you come to our show, you can expect to laugh, sing and be fully prepared to ring in the holidays. We can't wait to see you on the Holiday Road Tour!'
Tickets go on sale on Ticketmaster.com on Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m.

Make-A-Wish Connecticut's Sunflowers for Wishes fundraiser starts in Griswold
GRISWOLD, Conn. (WTNH) — Make-A-Wish Connecticut celebrated its 39th birthday Friday, the day before the 22nd annual Sunflowers for Wishes fundraiser begins at Buttonwood Farm in Griswold. New Haven kicks off new park clean-up initiative Sunflowers for Wishes, which has raised over $2 million for children with critical illnesses over 22 years, runs from 10 a.m. to dusk July 19-27. Make-A-Wish said in a statement that is the equivalent of 200 wishes granted. Buttonwood Farm, located at 473 Shetucket Turnpike, expects more than 300,000 sunflowers to bloom over the 14 acres of farmland this year, and will be available for purchase while supplies last. It costs $3 per person to enter the cutting field, and another $3 for each flower cut. All proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Connecticut. Sunflowers for Wishes is the only time of the year sunflowers are available for purchase at Buttonwood Farm. The farm also features over 50 flavors of homemade ice cream, which will include a sunflower flavor during the festival. In a celebration Friday, Make-A-Wish kids Selena and Chloe each wished to visit Disney, which Chloe called the 'biggest playground. Charlie wished to travel to London and meet actress Emma Watson. Blumenthal, officials warn Connecticut travelers to check passports for validity
MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — With the summer travel season in full swing, the Connecticut Passport Agency and U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) are warning travelers about a lesser-known passport rule that can cause confusion and delays. It can also cost travelers thousands of dollars. Officials say several destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia require a person's passport to be valid for three to six months after their departure or entry date. 'We've seen people lose money, but more heartbreak.'
