
OIC, ICYF Host Side Event on Innovative Financing for Gender-Sensitive Social Protection at CSW69
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) successfully hosted a side event on 'Pathways to Innovative Financing for Gender-Sensitive Social Protection for Displaced Youth and Girls' on the sidelines of the 69th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York.
Dr. Amany Asfour, Member of the National Council for Women of Egypt (NCW), chaired the event, representing the Arab Republic of Egypt, Chair of the 8th Session of the OIC Ministerial Conference on Women. Amb. Hameed Ajibaiye Opeloyeru, Permanent Observer of the OIC to the UN, delivered the welcoming speech on behalf of the OIC General Secretariat.
The panel featured distinguished speakers, including Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs of Nigeria; Rasul Omarov, Director General of ICYF; and Ms. Kristine Leonardo of Religions for Peace International.
Discussions focused on leveraging innovative financing mechanisms to strengthen gender-responsive social protection for displaced youth and girls, particularly in conflict-affected settings. The event concluded with key recommendations on scaling best practices, fostering partnerships, and mobilizing resources to enhance social protection systems across OIC Member States.

Egypt's Grand Mufti Announces Recommendations of 10th International Fatwa Conference
Mohamed Mandour Egypt's Grand Mufti announced the closing recommendations of the 10th International Fatwa Conference, held Aug. 12–13 in Cairo under the theme 'The Making of the Competent Mufti in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.' The event, convened by the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, was held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and drew delegations from more than 80 countries.
