Oasis tour mania as Noel and Liam Gallagher pose together ahead of first gig

Daily Mirror4 hours ago

Noel and Liam Gallagher have posed up together for the first time since the Oasis global tour was announced. The brothers, were pictured as part of an Adidas promotional campaign which launched in an advert on Channel 4.
Liam and Noel Gallagher have only been photographed together once in the last two decades in August last year, when they confirmed the reunion tour with a black and white shot which made headlines around the world.
In April they started filming a new promo campaign for Adidas. Rather than make music the Gallaghers were all smiles as they were spotted arriving separately at a working men's club in Newington Green, London.
It was understood at the time they were shooting promo material for Adidas as part of a new planned collaboration between the Gallaghers and the sports brand. Adidas will make their own Originals range based around the Oasis Live 25 tour.
In the past both Liam and Noel have also released their own Adidas trainers and Noel has spoken in the past about being obsessed with trainers.
Earlier in the day Adidas had teased the announcement on their social media channels sending fans into a frenzy.
Oasis split following a backstage bust-up between the Gallaghers at Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009. But thankfully the brothers have now made up and it is believed Liam made the first move to patch things up.
On X Liam said last year: "I called him but don't tell anyone as I do t wont folk thinking I'm a soft lad and stuffs keep it between me n you cheers x." The reply laced with humour was typical of Liam's responses on social media.
Last week Noel Gallagher told pals he was surprised how good the band are sounding in rehearsals.
On Oasis, U2 frontman Bono said: "I love them. I just love them. And what I really love is this, the sort of preciousness that had gotten a part of what was called indie music. They just blew it out.
"And there was just a swagger. The sound of getting out of the ghetto, not glamorising it. And they're both funny, funny, funny.
"I'm still very close with Noel. And he got a message to me, and he says that he's kind of shocked by how great the band is. So I think we're going to have a good summer.'
Noel and Liam will walk on stage for the first time together in public, since the band split nearly two decades ago, on July 4 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. There will also be dates in Manchester, London and Dublin as part of the tour.
Liam and Noel posed in a photo together when the full details of their first shows in 16 years were announced on August 27 - sparking pandemonium amongst fans.
In a joint statement on behalf of Oasis, the brothers said: 'The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.'
In a video to promote the comeback, Liam is also heard saying: "When we both come together, you have greatness."
Noel says: "I know my brother better than anybody else. This is it, this is happening."

Liam and Noel Gallagher pictured together for first time since tour announced

The Britpop band, who split in 2009 prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival, confirmed their long-awaited reunion in August 2024. They have since been photographed together to launch a new partnership with Adidas ahead of their Oasis Live '25 world tour. A post shared by adidas UK (@adidasuk) The Manchester-born musicians rose to fame after the release of their debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994, with their hits songs including Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall and Supersonic. While in the group, they became known for their recognisable sportswear style which consisted of tracksuits, sleeve jerseys, bucket hats and coach jackets. The pair are now the faces behind the Original Forever film campaign, which is soundtracked by their hit song Live Forever, and includes an accompanying Adidas Originals x Oasis Live '25 apparel collection. Chris Walsh, Adidas brand vice president, said: 'Adidas and Oasis share a story defined by originality and cultural impact, with roots that run deep and have long been entwined in the fabric of music and style. 'This official partnership represents more than just two icons coming together – it reignites a timeless piece of cultural music history. A post shared by adidas UK (@adidasuk) 'Original Forever continues to build on Adidas' lasting legacy in music and celebrates the powerful role music and style play in shaping culture across generations.' The brothers had been known to get into arguments over the years, but things reached breaking point at a French festival when Liam began swinging around a guitar. Noel quit the rock group on August 28 2009, saying he 'simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer'. The highly anticipated reunion tour announcement was followed with some ticketing backlash after fans in the UK and Ireland saw some prices more than double, from £148 to £355, which was blamed on 'unprecedented demand'. The outrage and controversy prompted the Government and the UK's competition watchdog to pledge they would look at the use of dynamic pricing. Oasis are due to kickstart their world tour in July with performances in Cardiff followed by Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin. The group will continue on with concerts scheduled around the world including Canada, the US, Mexico, Australia and Japan.

Liam and Noel Gallagher pictured together for first time since Oasis reunion new

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Noel and Liam Gallagher have posed for their second public snap together in 15 years, since Oasis' sudden 2009 split and almighty fall out. In August the bickering brothers announced a huge reunion tour, posing for a black and white picture together to celebrate the momentous occasion. The brothers have now publicly joined forces for the second time to promote their Adidas partnership, marking the first time Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, have been photographed together since the Oasis comeback news. The new image, posted on Adidas' social media on Thursday, showed the pair dressed in the fresh designs branded with 'Oasis', and was captioned: 'The band with three stripes.' Fittingly, the advert for the collaboration features historic clips from Knebworth to Heaton Park, and Wembley to Rio, emotionally soundtracked by Oasis' 1994 hit Live Forever. The clip comes to a crescendo of Liam and Noel posing moodily side-by-side – not hugging just yet – as they stare into the camera wearing their Adidas gear, seemingly gearing up for the stage. Oasis and Adidas are also teaming up for an Oasis Live '25 apparel collection, which sees their classic 90s looks modernised. Just a month short of 16 years since Noel announced he could no longer work with his brother Liam, the Britpop legends will be taking to the stage once more on July 5. They are performing in Cardiff, before heading to their native Manchester for a five-night run, and London's Wembley Stadium at the end of the month. Edinburgh and Dublin dates are set for August, before Noel and Liam head over to kick off the North America leg of their tour. Fear not though: the brothers will (hopefully) be back, getting on like a champagne supernova in the sky (fingers crossed), to perform two more Wembley shows in September. The Adidas campaign comes after Edinburgh City Council expressed concern about Oasis' gigs in Murrayfield Stadium. The dates come in the middle of the famed Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which takes over the city for the month of August. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video In the official papers, the council called Oasis fans mainly 'middle-aged men' who 'take up more room', as reported by The Sun. They also expressed concerns about the amount they might drink, explaining they expect 'medium to high intoxication' and a 'substantial amount of older fans' amongst the 210,000 punters on August 8, 9 and 12. Not one to ever hold back, Liam shared his thoughts… More Trending 'To the Edinburgh council I've heard what you said about OASIS fans and quite frankly your attitude f***ing stinks I'd leave town that day if I was any of you lot,' he said, adding: 'I'd love to see a picture of all the people on the Edinburgh council bet there's some real STUNING individuals.' In an update about the Oasis Live shows, a source who was at one of the band's rehearsals told The Sun: 'Oasis have never sounded better. They were playing Cigarettes & Alcohol and Liam's vocals sounded really good. '[Liam's impressive vocals] were probably down to the two packets of Lockets cough sweets that he was sucking throughout the rehearsal.' The source added: 'You could hear Noel's lead guitar really well and he sounded so good too. To hear them playing live, and playing so loudly, was an incredible moment.' Got a story?
