BTS V's Honest Take on Airport Fan Chaos - Bring Back the Purple Line!

Time of India5 days ago
V's Straight Talk in Weverse Live: Airport Woes Exposed
Picture this: You're a global superstar heading to the airport, but instead of a smooth send-off, it's a whirlwind of crowds and chaos. That's the reality BTS' V described in his recent Weverse live broadcast.
Keeping it real, V shared, "The airport isn't just for us, right? It's a shared space, so we've got to maintain order." It's that classic moment when things get too hectic, and someone has to speak up - like navigating a packed terminal during peak hours, where one misstep can turn everything upside down.
V looked back fondly on times when he could casually wave and say, "See you soon!" to fans. Nowadays, it's all about rushing through without a glance.
Adding a light touch, he mentioned that if the 'Purple Line' made a comeback, he'd even spend an extra 10 minutes deciding what to wear. "No matter how stylish I get, if no photos come out of it, what's the point?" he joked, turning a frustrating issue into something we can all chuckle at while nodding in agreement.
The Magic of the Purple Line: Fans' Smart Safety Hack
If you're new to this, the 'Purple Line' is no mystery - it's a clever fan-driven setup using purple ribbons, BTS's signature color, to create safe zones at airports and public events.
This has been key in keeping overly enthusiastic fans at a respectful distance, preserving order and letting the members move freely. Drawing from K-pop community insights on sites like AllKpop, this approach has significantly cut down on chaotic moments by establishing clear boundaries that everyone respects.
Think of it as a simple yet effective barrier that turns potential mayhem into organized excitement.
Industry reports from Soompi highlight how such fan-led efforts have smoothed out international travels for K-pop groups, minimizing complaints from other travelers and keeping the focus on the music rather than the mess.
Why Airport Disorder is a Big Deal Right Now
Airport scenes for idols have been making waves lately, and not in a good way. From clashes with security teams to heated discussions about 'overprotective' measures, it's creating headaches for celebrities, fans, and everyday passengers alike.
V highlighted how this lack of order strips away small pleasures, like dressing up for the occasion. "If fans keep things in check, I might even show up in a suit," he said with a grin, blending sincerity with his trademark charm.
On a broader note, with K-pop's massive global following - think millions tuning in for comebacks and tours, as tracked by platforms like Gaon Chart - these issues pop up more frequently. Sacnilk notes that fan gatherings at major events can sometimes lead to minor hiccups, underscoring the importance of better coordination.
Event data from sources like BookMyShow often shows attendance in the tens of thousands, proving how quickly enthusiasm can tip into disorder without proper guidelines.
V's Message: Time for Fans to Step Up and Shine
In the end, V's words serve as a friendly reminder that true fandom thrives on respect and safety. Reviving the Purple Line could restore those feel-good moments without the frenzy. It's all about channeling that passion positively - who wouldn't want to see more relaxed, stylish airport appearances from the BTS crew? Let's make it happen for a smoother ride all around.

Kingdom box office collection day 7: Vijay Deverakonda film fails to keep up, earns ₹1 crore

Kingdom box office collection day 7: Gowtam Tinnanuri's Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda, Satyadev, Venkitesh, and Bhagyashri Borse, hit theatres last Thursday, after facing several delays. After a decent start, the film has been struggling to pick up numbers over its first week. As per the latest update on Sacnilk, the film is yet to cross the ₹50 crore mark. Kingdom latest box office update As per the report, Kingdom minted ₹ 1.05 crore in its seventh day of release, its lowest so far. Kingdom made an opening day haul of ₹18 crore on 31 July, but since then the film has not been able to surpass that figure in the next few days. Even the weekend collections were not in double digits. The overall collections now stand at ₹ 45.7 crore. Kingdom had an overall 12.80% Telugu Occupancy on Wednesday. About Kingdom Kingdom tells the story of a police constable named Suri (Vijay) who agrees to go on an undercover mission in Sri Lanka in hopes of finding his long-lost brother Siva (Satyadev). Anirudh Ravichander composed the music and background score of the film. The film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. An excerpt from the Hindustan Times review of the film read, 'Vijay finally gets his redemption arc with Kingdom, both as an actor and character. After a long time, you see the theatre actor and the star in him come out. There might be moments where he fumbles, but he quickly finds his footing and plays the varied shades well. Particularly when it comes to the equation with a pitch-perfect Satyadev as Siva. Suri and Siva's relationship forms the heart of this tale, and Gowtam brings in tiny nuances to make it believable.'

But the romantic drama backed by Karan Johar is no Saiyaara, as the film has barely shown any growth at the box office in its first week. The Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii Dimri starrer had a slow start and has now finally crossed the ₹15 crore mark. Its highest stands at ₹ 4.15 crore, which was made on Sunday. The film saw a dip from the weekday onwards, and has barely shown any upward trends in figures despite receiving positive reviews from critics and fans alike. The overall collections now stand at ₹15.3 crore. About Dhadak 2 Dhadak 2 revolves around the love story that develops between two young law students who realise they will have to fight for themselves because of caste and class differences. The film received praise for its sensitive direction and fine performances. Talking about the film's sensitive message, Triptii told PTI, 'It should reach the maximum audience because it's entertaining and also leaves a little note, so that is something which we are constantly looking for. We found that equilibrium... There is something real and sensitive about it ('Dhadak 2'). All of these guys have more responsibility, and they are very well aware of that. That's why they have been very quiet about everything, like while we were shooting for the film, even the censor board issues, we never spoke about anything.'

Son of Sardaar 2 box office collection day 6: Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur's Son of Sardaar 2 continues to struggle at the box office. Although it has managed to outperform Dhadak 2 at the box office, Son of Sardaar 2 is still not enough to keep up. As per the latest update on Sacnilk, the film has now crossed the ₹ 30 crore mark in India. Son of Sardaar 2 box office collection Day 6: Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur's film struggles to bring audiences to the theatre. Son of Sardaar 2 box office On its sixth day, the film earned only ₹1.65 crore (India net), bringing its total domestic collection to ₹31.5 crore, according to early estimates. The film had a decent performance in its first five days, collecting ₹29.85 crore, and Day 6 showed no signs of momentum. Occupancy across theatres remained low on Wednesday. Morning shows saw just 5.43% occupancy, while the afternoon and evening shows fared slightly better at 9.32% and 9.59% respectively. Notably, there were no recorded night show occupancies, suggesting either limited screenings or very poor turnout. Region-wise, a few cities performed better than others. Jaipur topped the chart with an overall occupancy of 13.67%, peaking at 15% during the evening shows. Lucknow followed closely with 12.33% occupancy, reaching up to 18% during the night shows. Chennai also showed decent numbers with 12.5% overall occupancy, particularly in the evening. Meanwhile, major territories like Mumbai and NCR saw modest engagement. Hyderabad, in particular, stood at just 4.67% throughout the day, while Ahmedabad, Bhopal, and Surat also struggled to draw audiences. About Son of Sardaar 2 Son of Sardaar 2 is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, marking his debut in a major Hindi release. The film stars Ajay Devgn reprising his role as Jassi Singh Randhawa, alongside Mrunal Thakur as his female lead. The storyline follows Jassi's chaotic journey to Scotland to reconcile with his estranged wife, only to get entangled in mafia rivalries, a boisterous Sikh wedding and hostage drama. With a reported budget of ₹150 crore, Son of Sardaar 2 is far from a commercial success so far. Unless there's a dramatic turnaround over the weekend, the film may face an early exit from theatres.
