Kota Kinabalu: This year's traditional sports competition jointly organised by Sabah Sports Board, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, Youth and Sports Ministry and KDCA in conjunction with the Harvest Festival celebration will be held at SMK Bahang, Penampang on May 24-25. The nine disciplines drawn up by the organising committee for the contestants are 'gusti lengan', 'tarik tali', 'melastik', 'menyumpit', 'membujak', 'menjerat kerbau', 'menghidupkan api', 'terompak gergasi' and 'rampanau'.

It is open to the public and participation is free. The winners will take home prizes in the form of cash, medals and certificates. There will also will be lucky draws for those attending the event and the main prize on the second day is a motorcycle in addition to hampers, sports items and electrical goods. More than 10 teams including some from the Peninsula and Brunei have so far confirmed their participation in the annual event aimed to promote traditional sports for future generations as well as enliven the festive spirits.

Three Malaysian teens to train at Tottenham Hotspur via Dashing Talent Scholarship
THREE young Malaysian footballers will get the chance to train at Tottenham Hotspur's elite academy in London. The opportunity comes through the Dashing Talent Scholarship, an initiative by a men's grooming brand, targeting players aged 15 to 18. PSG coach Luis Enrique wants ‘different profile' to Donnarumma
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN coach Luis Enrique on Tuesday defended his decision to freeze out Gianluigi Donnarumma ahead of the new season, insisting he needed a goalkeeper with a 'different' profile. Donnarumma appears set to move after PSG signed Lucas Chevalier from Lille, before Luis Enrique left the Italian out of his squad for Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham. 'These are always difficult decisions to make. I can only speak highly of Donnarumma,' the Spaniard told a press conference in Udine. ''Gigio' is undoubtedly one of the best players in his position. He's an even better person, but we were looking for a different type of goalkeeper. 'My goal is to improve the team. It's my decision, and the club supports me.' Donnarumma played a starring role in the latter stages of last season's Champions League as PSG secured the trophy for the first time with a 5-0 final thrashing of Inter Milan. Donnarumma -- reportedly a target of Manchester United and Chelsea -- said he was 'disappointed' by his omission. 'From the first day I arrived, I gave everything -- on and off the pitch -- to earn my place and defend the goal of Paris Saint-Germain,' the 26-year-old said in an Instagram post. 'Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group or contribute to the team's success. I am disappointed and disheartened.' Donnarumma has made 161 appearances for Paris since signing from AC Milan in 2021. He has won seven major trophies with the European champions, while he also played a big role in Italy's Euro 2020 triumph. PAM Sabah retain IPB Games Darts Championship crown

Kota Kinabalu: PAM Sabah Chapter lifted the Gold Championship Trophy in the 15th IPB Games 2025 - Darts, for the fourth consecutive time. The competition was held at the OMG Darts Café, Penampang from August 9-10, and seven professional bodies participated in the bi-annually fellowship event. The professional bodies were Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia, Sabah Chapter (PAM), Sabah Law Society (SLS), Malaysian Medical Association, Sabah Branch (MMA), Institution of Engineers Malaysia, Sabah Branch (IEM), Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia, Sabah Branch (RISM), Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Sabah (MIA) and Sabah Pharmaceutical Society (SPS). Organising Captain Vivian Ho said: 'Darts is more than precision and focus – it's about connecting, sharing of laughter and celebrating the spirit of the IPB Games family.' She congratulated SLS for making such a big improvement and winning a trophy for the first time in the last 20 years. Eddy Alfren Jalius of MIA won the RM 50 cash prize for the Bull's Eye Check out. However, there was no winner on the 180 score and the 170 check out prizes.
