Saiyaara explained as must-see movie hailed 'best of all time' by fans

Daily Mirror22-07-2025
Saiyaara has been a huge box office success and has been described as the 'best movie of all time' by fans - but what is the film about and how can you watch it in the UK?
Saiyaara has been making a splash at the box office since its premiere on 18 July, setting a new record for the highest-grossing opening weekend for a love story in Hindi cinema, as reported by the Times of India.

The film's triumph is largely attributed to its resonance with younger viewers, catapulting stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda into the limelight. Both critics and audiences have lauded their compelling performances and natural rapport, with the film now available for viewing in the UK.

The title, which translates to "a star or planet that moves across the sky", was selected to encapsulate themes of "longing, eternal love and emotional distance".The trailer explains how "Saiyaara means a lonely star among the stars. Who by herself illuminates the whole world."

What is Saiyaara about?
Vaani, a young writer diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease, is at the heart of this poignant tale exploring love, loss, and memory through the evolving relationship between the two main characters.
Their lives intersect when Krish, a struggling musician, discovers Vaani's poetry and feels inspired to transform her words into music.

As they embark on a creative partnership, a profound emotional bond forms between them, and what began as a professional association soon blossoms into love.
However, their romance takes a tragic turn when Vaani is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's, leaving Krish with the difficult decision of pursuing his dream or standing by Vaani as she deteriorates.

How to watch Saiyaara
"Mohit is pure genius with the casting of Ahaan and Aneet. Both brought the characters to life. The plot twist will tug at your heartstrings as you will never see it coming. This is a must-see movie!"
Sawaira Sarwari simply stated: "It's was the best movie of all time."
Sumit A added: "A modern love story with heart takes the viewer on a roller coaster ride of emotions. The two main characters are flawless in their delivery keeping you hooked from beginning to end."
Saiyaara is currently showing in most UK cinemas, including Odeon, Vue and Showcase. It has a run time of two hours and 30 minutes.

Sky TV expert reveals three little-known buttons to instantly skip ads, unlock secret ‘night mode' and lost remote trick

A SKY insider has shared some of his little-known tricks to get the best out of your TV. Sky Glass and Sky Stream hide a number of handy hacks, including ways to instantly skip ads faster than ever and a secret "night mode" that may come in very useful. 2 Faster ad skipping So let's start with the ads first of all. If you pay for ad skip, you can bypass any breaks but some viewers go through the long process of manually fast forwarding. "Don't fancy watching the ads?" Matt Rye, Sky 's Director of Product Management told The Sun. "Upgrade to the ad skip feature for the option to skip through them all using the 'skip ads' button that pops up on screen as soon as the break begins." This button will take you straight to the show content with needing to work out when to hit stop after fast fowarding. Night Mode Night Mode is a special feature that prevents you from waking up the entire household. This can come in especially useful for loud booms during a movie. "If you're a late-night TV watcher like I am, especially when watching movies until the early hours of the morning, you might not want to disturb everyone's sleep with loud volume," Matt says. "For this, we have night mode. "An optional setting, which reduces the volume level of dramatic sounds. "Press the three dots button on your remote to bring up the menu and select." Discover new features on Sky TV that make it even easier to find favourite shows Lost your remote? Losing your remote can be a right pain, leading to endless searches around the house or down the side of the sofa. Fortunately, there's an easy way people forget to use to instantly retrieve their controller. "If you've lost your remote down the back of the sofa, or the kids have hidden it somewhere, you can ask Glass to find it for you," Matt explains. "Say 'Hello Sky, Find my remote' and the remote will start beeping until you find it and pick it up." DON'T FORGET YOUR SKY FREEBIES Sky regularly dishes out a number of freebies as an extra perk for customers. At the moment, the company is doing weekly giveaways of food from Sainsbury's. We've already seen pizzas and ice creams to redeem so keep a look out for more on Sky VIP.
