Strictly star slams 'double standards' at BBC after Naga Munchetty 'sex jibe'
A Strictly Come Dancing star has slammed the BBC over its 'double standards' following presenter Naga Munchetty's alleged 'sex jibe'.
Welsh opera singer, Wynne Evans, 53, was sensationally dumped from the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour earlier this year over inappropriate comments he made.
The 'unacceptable' joke – which was first believed to be towards host Janette Manrara but Wynne has since insisted it was a jibe at Jamie Borthwick – apparently referenced having a threesome.
Soon after, he apologised, saying he was 'deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate action caused' and would take a break from the public eye for 'self-reflection' and to 'prioritise my well-being'.
Now, however, following the news that BBC Breakfast star Naga is facing bullying allegations and inappropriate 'sex jibe' claims, Wynne has called out the director general, Tim Davie.

Posting the front page of The Sun in a now-deleted post, Wynne said: 'I really wish Naga well and I hope she doesn't get hounded.
'But come on @bbc @bbccymruwales what double standards.
'Tim Davie [Director-general of the BBC] promised to protect people on Strictly from being hounded by the press, but he won't even meet with me.'
Presenter Naga, 50, hosts the BBC flagship morning programme alongside Charlie Stayt.
It was reported earlier this year that an internal investigation was being carried out into allegations of bullying at the program.
Since, it has emerged that the editor of BBC Breakfast, Richard Frediani, is taking an extended period of leave after allegations of bullying behaviour, including a claim he shook a female colleague.
Deadline reported that Naga had raised concerns with senior BBC figures regarding his conduct, amid other misconduct complaints colleagues made against him.
The Sun then reported claims that Naga faced her own bullying allegations. No formal action has been taken, but she is said to have been spoken to about an incident.
Wynne previously spoke to The Sun about the fallout, saying he is 'not a bad guy'.
He also stated that he is 'not a misogynist', explaining that 'spit-roast boy' was a nickname given to EastEnders actor Jamie, insisting that the quip was a prank that 'backfired'.
'It's been heartbreaking,' he said of the aftermath. ''Spit-roast boy' was a nickname we all gave Jamie Borthwick because he could contort his legs over his head like a spit-roast chicken.
'I would be the first to apologise if I had used it in the double meaning of that word.
'But it absolutely wasn't meant sexually – and the fact I used 'boy,' alright, it's nuanced, but it shows I was talking to Jamie, NOT Janette.'
Earlier this month, Wynne shared a full apology video from Strictly Come Dancing, which he claims the BBC ordered him to cut short.
The singer and his professional dance partner sparked controversy when she appeared to move his hand from her waist, which he said was 'just a body language experiment that was picked up on'.
The pair shared a brief apology video at the time, but he has now shared a different version, which is 50 seconds long instead of the 10-second clip that got published.
His video begins with Katya saying: 'Hello everyone. We felt the need to clarify something. We find it quite fascinating how people take time to look into in such detail every gesture, every look.'
Wynne added: 'So we thought we'll mess around. And we said, 'Oh I'll put my hand on your waist, you pretend to move it away, and let's see who notices it.'
'And now everybody thinks I'm a weirdo. But really, I promise you I'm not. And we're doing this high ten thing as well, where she blanks me from a high ten.'
The pair insisted it was 'all sort of planned just to see if anybody notices', while Katya said they wanted to 'clarify that it's all just messing around'. More Trending
'He's not a creep,' she added. 'But he's a brilliant dancer.'
When he was removed from the bill, having already done several performances, a spokesperson from the BBC said: 'We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.
'We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints.'

Love Island fans convinced producers ‘deleted' scenes as feud explodes ‘out of nowhere'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island fans are convinced show bosses "deleted" scenes leading up to Toni Laites and Emily Moran's shock spat - giving the American a "villain edit." It came as US Islander Toni, 24, and Welsh beauty Emily, also 24, clashed in fiery scenes on Friday, with the former accusing her costar of being nosey on the ITV2 dating series. 6 Love Island fans are convinced show bosses have cut scenes of Toni and Emily's fiery spat Credit: Eroteme 6 Viewers reckon the US bombshell, 24, has been given a 'villain edit' Credit: Eroteme 6 Emily accused Toni of talking behind her back Credit: Eroteme Toni - who arrived as the first bombshell of the series - became annoyed after hearing a conversation between Emily and Conor Phillips, 25. The row then started after Emily accused Las Vegas pool cabana server Toni of talking behind her back. She was then warned by Meg that Toni had said she was being "nosey" and described her as "Little Miss Sunshine." Toni was also seen talking about Emily to Shakira, who agreed with Toni's views. Following their row, an exasperated Emily said she thought Toni was "just trying to cause a problem," and claimed: "She's f****g nuts." Yet after Toni had cemented herself as Love Island 2025 show favourite, fans were quick to smell a rat at her typically uncharacteristic conduct. One took to X to muse: "Toni is so calm and collected so she's peeped something crazy that Emily's done for her to act like that. PRODUCERS NEED TO SHOW US!" A second put: "I'm so confused where this random drama between Toni and Emily has come from?? I swear it's not been referenced at all before now." A third mused: "The cast is unhinged where the HELL did that come from with Toni and Shakira I was gobsmacked." One then added: "Toni's definitely saw something we haven't they're giving us the villain edit." Watch the moment Love Island feud explodes as Toni slams horrified rival in sweary rant Another noted: "Toni's crash out is valid because the producers have edited something we haven't seen, so I still support her!" One then concluded: "Feel like Toni's beef with Emily is so unprovoked???" BULLY BEHAVIOUR? Even though Toni's fans were out in full force, other viewers watching at home accused the Islanders of bullying due to previous instances of her gossiping about Emily without her knowledge. "Toni wanted to be the IT girl so bad and is now just trying anything to stay relevant causing problems when Emily hasn't done anything wrong, when actually she just looks like a bully," wrote one Love Island fan on X, formerly Twitter. Another added: "You all love Toni but last year you all hated Jess saying she was a bully?!?!?!" A third wrote: "Toni is like a school ground bully, poor Emily her and Shakira are 2 b*****s." ROUGH PATCH It comes amid a tricky time for Toni, who caused hysterics with a wardrobe malfunction earlier in the week. Toni hasn't had the easiest ride in the villa overall, and on Wednesday night she was almost dumped from the villa New islander Harrison was faced with choosing between Toni and Malisha, after they both found themselves single in the latest recoupling. They both then went on a date with Harrison, before he chose Toni, meaning Malisha went home. 6 The pair's behaviour was seen as 'unprovoked' Credit: Eroteme 6 Their cat fight stunned the villa Credit: Eroteme

Strictly star Ellie Taylor reveals the horrors of holidaying with kids - and the moment she dreads at waterparks
The thought of travelling from the UK to Australia with a toddler in tow sounds like most people's idea of hell. So spare a thought for Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Taylor, 41, who has done the '36-hour, door-to-door' journey, there and back twice, with her 18-month-old son, Rhino – and is planning a third trip to Sydney later this year. 'My husband's Australian, so we visit quite a lot,' she explains in an exclusive interview with MailOnline Travel. 'It's always gorgeous and sunny, and there are lots of beaches and fabulous food, fabulous weather and family, which is great. 'I love Sydney, because I've got a lot of fond memories there, and it's an amazing city. It's the best city in the world. 'Whenever I go there, I think, why on earth does anyone ever leave? I always say to my husband, 'Why did you leave? You fool!' But, while Ted Lasso actress Ellie loves Sydney, getting there is another story. She says: 'My six-year-old, Valentina, is absolutely fine. Once she hit about three, she was as good as gold, but the baby years are awful. 'We went when my son was four months old, and when he was a year old. 'Door to door, the journey is about 36 hours, and I think my life expectancy dropped by that many years! 'It's just so full on, and it's not their fault; they're just babies, and they don't want to sit there for that long. 'And you have to share a seat with them - and it's just all awful. 'But it could have been worse. I think I'd ramped it up in my head, like it was going to be so unbelievably horrific - and nothing could ever be that bad.' She adds: 'I think we might go again at some point this year, but he's mobile now, and he walks, so may God have kindness on the entirety of that plane, because they're going to know my child pretty well!' But the flights to Australia haven't been the worst part of holidaying since starting a family. For Ellie, her worst holiday was when she was heavily pregnant with Rhino in Sardinia. 'It was freakishly hot,' she recalls. 'It was one of those heat waves in Europe, and around 45 degrees. 'And this beautiful resort was quite barren and open, with no shade. 'I was just so uncomfortable and massive and then we found out the hotel pools were salt water, so my daughter refused to put her head under the water or swim in the pool. 'Just getting to the beach in the heat with a whinging four year old felt like some sort SAS, military ordeal 'It was an endurance test for a week, and I was very glad to come home!' These days, Ellie and her family enjoy staying in child-friendly hotels in Majorca, which she says is 'the absolute top notch place to go'. 'The food is amazing, the weather's beautiful and it's only a couple of hours from London on the plane,' she adds. Another family favourite for Ellie's clan is Centreparcs ('for our sins') - but she dreads getting recognised while her kids are on the waterslides. She says: 'As a woman who's occasionally on telly, I dread someone coming up to me while I'm standing in a queue to go down a flume, in my swimming costume, a bit soggy, having been up all night with a baby. 'That'll be like my community service.' But Ellie's not fussy when it comes to hotels generally. 'I love any hotel because it means I'm not at home, so I sleep through the night,' she says. 'Even a Premier Inn in Luton would be a mini break for me! 'As long as I have a nice, big, fat bed, loads of cushions and a blackout blind – plus free biscuits with the kettle – I'm happy.' Ellie has partnered with Intrepid Travel to 'pitch' a proposed new travel show, Travel Ann, following the adventure travel group finding almost half of Brits (48%) are 'exhausted' by the current format of most TV travel shows being fronted by men. She says: 'Intrepid is trying to get more women on travel shows, because it's just so disproportionate at the moment, and we want a change in how we view travel on telly. Only 23 per cent of travel shows in the last year have been female-fronted, and 80 per cent of holiday-making decisions, in the UK, are made by women, so there's such a big appetite for it.'
