Lizzo Speaks Out About Her Weight Loss Transformation: 'Same Belly, Same Thighs, Just a Smaller Version'

'Body positivity has nothing to do with staying the same,' she told the outletLizzo is opening up about the physical and psychological changes she has experienced on her weight loss journey.
The singer, 37, is featured on the cover of Women's Health U.K.'s September issue, in which she discusses her feelings towards the changes in her body throughout her fitness journey and her views on body positivity.
'I like how I look now,' Lizzo told the outlet. 'I still think I'm big. I'm still wearing plus-size clothing. I have the same rolls. I got the same belly, the same thighs – I think I'm just a smaller version.'
'Body positivity has nothing to do with staying the same,' she continued. 'Body positivity is the radical act of daring to exist loudly and proudly in a society that told you you shouldn't exist.'

Lizzo has been documenting her "weight release journey' on social media since 2023. In her latest interview, she reflected on previously struggling with binge eating as a result of feeling stressed or anxious.
'There were times when I would eat so much that my stomach hurt,' Lizzo told Women's Health U.K. 'When I was done, I would be so uncomfortable, I couldn't breathe and wouldn't let anyone know. I would hide it. I had so much food noise and connected so much emotion to food. If I was sad, anxious, stressed or working a lot, I would snack and just eat constantly."
The "Good as Hell" singer said that she has now found 'a beautiful balance' in her relationship with food amid her fitness journey.
'It's a beautiful balance where it's like, if you allow yourself to have something, you can enjoy it without overindulging and hurting yourself,' she said. 'I'm so proud of myself for overcoming that.'
In January, Lizzo announced on Instagram that she had achieved her "weight release goal" as she shared a picture of herself after lowering her body mass index (BMI) by 10.5.
Since going on her weight loss journey, Lizzo said she has battled criticism for the changes to her body.
She told Women's Health U.K., "Me saying I love myself in 2016 was offensive to people … How dare you love yourself! You are fat and Black and you're a woman, so you shouldn't love yourself … I had to fight for that [to love myself]. And now I'm fighting again.'
Lizzo added that she is determined not to let the criticism get to her. 'It's okay to release weight. It's okay to gain weight after you've released weight, because what you're not going to do is shame me if my body changes again and I get bigger,' she said.

Music therapy charity raises £14,000 at Kendal Calling Festival
A charity based in Penrith has raised £14,000 to support its music therapy work. Annie Mawson's Sunbeams Music Trust secured the donations during its first appearance at the Kendal Calling Music Festival, held at Lowther Deer Park. The trust delivers community music therapy to more than 2,000 disabled and disadvantaged children and adults each month. These take place at the Sunbeams Music Centre, in more than 50 care homes and day centres, and online. The charity said that the message at the heart of it's 33-year history, "bringing the power of music to Cumbria" was reaffirmed at the festival. The trust thanked the volunteers connected with the charity, saying these 'tremendous' funds could not have been raised without their "passion, enthusiasm, and incredible commitment.

Lou Adler & Tim Curry to Appear at 50th Anniversary Screening of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show'
The Rocky Horror Picture Show didn't receive a single Oscar nomination when it was released in 1975, but the film has since become a cult classic, so much so that even the Motion Picture Academy has taken notice. On Sept. 26, the Academy Museum in Los Angeles will host a '50th Anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show' program. Music industry legend Lou Adler, who was one of the producers of the film; Tim Curry, who starred in the film as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite alien scientist; and Sins O' The Flesh are scheduled to appear. 'Join us for a sing-along and shadow cast experience for this one-night-only 50th anniversary program,' the event's notes advise. Charlie Wernham Breaks Silence After Robbie's Heartbreaking 'Hollyoaks' Exit originally appeared on Parade. Hollyoaks fans are in mourning after todays episode of the hit soap opera aired in the U.K. as it was confirmed that after 12 years, on and off the show, Robbie Roscoe (played by the fan favorite Charlie Wernham) was killed off. Now the actor has spoken about returning to the show, when he found out his exit storyline, and what he has coming soon. After weeks of speculation, viewers worst fears were confirmed, and it was revealed that the Robbie Roscoe they had been seeing in Jez (Jeremy Sheffield) was a figment of his imagination and that Robbie was yet another of Jez's victims. Wernham spoke with Digital Spy about his recent experience on the show. When Wernham returned to the soap last year it was only meant to be a short stint. 'At first I was only meant to do three months – that was why Robbie went off screen the first time, back at the start of last year. I had a job that was going to go ahead but then it didn't, so my diary became available.' The actor shared how the show approached him about returning again explaining, 'Hannah Cheers, who's the producer of Hollyoaks, said that she'd love to have me back for another 12 months. It was quite a big thing to relocate again, as I've got a life down here in Essex, so I said that it would probably only be for the year." When asked about his feelings about the current exit storyline, Wernham shared, 'The thing is, I never thought I'd be returning to the show in the first place. I just thought that too much time had gone by – and I was really busy doing other things anyway. I've now had a brilliant 15 months and I've done it exactly how I wanted to do it.' With that said, while the door appears to be closed with Robbie' s death, Wernham jokingly adds that this may not be the last time we see his character sharing, "I think that'll probably be it for Robbie, but then again Clare was dead and she's now back. Loads of people have died and come back. So is Robbie dead? Who knows? It's Hollyoaks! Wernham explained how he found out about what his exit storyline was going to be, sharing, "Si Wall, who's a producer on the show alongside Hannah, told me about it very cagily. He didn't know what my reaction was going to be, because it's all a bit bonkers when you say it out loud! It was a lot to take in!" The actor continued, "I sat with it and thought about it. Afterwards, I said that we really had to make the audience believe that Robbie was alive in that shed. Once the flashback and big reveal happens, you're only as strong as the set-up.
