Yung Miami was discussing Lizzo's weight loss on a podcast. Then things got awkward
Yung Miami found that out the hard way while appearing on the 'Club Shay Shay' podcast with Shannon Sharpe last week.
The City Girls rapper and former NFL player were discussing how women often bend to societal pressures and try to look perfect. Yung Miami used the 'Birthday Girl' singer — who recently lost about 50 pounds reportedly through diet and exercise — as an example.
'Everybody was like, 'Oh my God, she's so fat.' She look so good now. Now it's like, 'Oh my God, eww,'' the Opa-Locka native born Caresha Brownlee said. 'Like, pick a side. What do you want?'
Boom. The next thing you know Lizzo phoned in to the livestream. The mildly tense encounter was captured by The Shade Room and posted to Instagram.
'What is the eww?' asked Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson). 'I have to know!'
The 305 singer immediately clarified, saying that she was actually defending Lizzo and bashing her critics, not disparaging her new body.
'Before, like, your weight loss, people used to be like, Oh my God, she needs to lose weight, she's too thick,' Yung Miami began to explain, slightly stammering. 'That's what i was pertaining to.'
'Oh got you,' Lizzo responded. 'Actually, I thought you were saying I got too little.'
Sean Combs' ex continued her defense.
'It's damned if you do, damned if you don't,' YM said. 'Everybody say you look good, but then you'll have the little 5 percent that's like, 'She looked better when she was fat'....You can't make nobody happy. They always got something to say when it comes to women's bodies. Why? I don't know.'
And with that, the conversation ended.
Most commenters on the TSR post agreed that Yung Miami meant no disrespect and that Lizzo was being a little oversensitive.
'There truly was nothing to clarify. She was not hating at all.'
'She wasn't coming for you. Was literally on your side, but OK!'
'Read the room, Lizzo. She wasn't being mean or malicious at all. She was being nice and complimentary.'

Why is Brent Musburger on NFL Hall of Fame game broadcast? Explaining legend's NBC cameo for Lions vs. Chargers
A familiar voice will return to the airwaves during NBC's Hall of Fame Game broadcast between the Chargers and Lions. Brent Musburger's gravelly tone accompanied a great many of sport's finest moments in the 20th century. From Doug Flutie's Hail Mary vs. Miami to Catholics vs. Convicts, Musburger tended to say the right thing at the right time more than most broadcasters. This offseason, he was rewarded for his efforts, landing the Pro Football Hall of Fame's greatest recognition for a media member. He'll also get a chance to turn back the clock during Thursday night's broadcast; Musburger will be a central part of NBC's coverage, both as an interviewee and an analyst — at least for a fleeting moment. With that, here's what you need to know about Musburger's return to the booth. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Why is Brent Musburger on NFL Hall of Fame game broadcast? Musburger was granted one of the most prestigious honors an NFL media member can receive during the offseason, being named the Pete Rozelle Award recipient. It was a long time coming for the 86-year-old, whose dulcet tones soundtracked big league broadcasts, college football matches, NBA jousts and more for more than five decades. Musburger will receive a hero's welcome during the first half of Thursday's game, taking part in a pregame interview with Maria Taylor. The second half will see Musburger return to the booth, trading barbs with Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth in his first play-by-play appearance since 2022. What is the Pete Rozelle Award? The Pete Rozelle Radio Television Award is an annual prize awarded to a media member who exhibits excellence in and around the booth — both on radio and television. Musburger's name has swirled around the award for some time — Dan Patrick made an impassioned plea for Musburger to receive the honor last year. The Rozelle Award operates in a similar space to MLB's Ford C. Frick Award in baseball and NBA's Curt Gowdy Media Award, both of which are doled out by each league's respective Hall of Fame. Eagles play-by-play man Merrill Reese landed the honor in 2024. Brent Musburger broadcast career timeline Musburger spent more than 50 years charming viewers and listeners with his friendly drawl, biting catchphrases (March Madness, for example!) and his willingness to embrace the more unsavory parts of the sports world, including gambling. He was lauded for his contributions to coverage of the NBA Finals, World Series, U.S. Open, World Cup and more during his half-century at the top. In 2017, Musburger stepped away from his usual post at CBS, citing a desire to move to Las Vegas and help his family start a sports handicapping business. "A love of sports allows me to live a life of endless pleasure," Musburger said in a statement. "And make no mistake, I will miss the arenas and stadiums dearly. Most of all, I will miss the folks I have met along the trail." Musburger's retirement was temporary, however. Within a year, he found a new stead; he was calling Raiders games in Sin City with the nascent broadcast company he founded, Vegas Sports Information Network. Musburger lasted four years with the broadcaster. Following the conclusion of the 2021 season, he returned to the shadows. He still contributes regularly on VSiN. But his vocals have rarely swept across national broadcasts. On Thursday, that will change. For those who have followed Musburger's journey through the limelight, that's only a good thing.

Alix Earle addresses speculation about NFL boyfriend Braxton Berrios: 'We're not broken up'
Alix Earle, a 24-year-old social media influencer, is speaking out amid chatter that her romance with NFL player Braxton Berrios ended. Earle addressed the topic during a recent edition of her "Hot Mess" podcast. The episode delved into what it takes to "survive a long-distance relationship." Earle suggested the rumors about their alleged breakup primarily revolve around her or Berrios being seen in public without each other. Berrios spent the past two football seasons with the Miami Dolphins. But this offseason, he signed with the Houston Texans. Earle appears to spend the majority of her time in South Florida. "When we go out without each other, everyone's like, 'You and Braxton are broken up because Alix is out at a party without him,'" she recalled. Earle then made it clear that she simply trusts Berrios. "I am allowed to go out without my boyfriend and I think we just trust each other," she continued. "It's not a crazy concept to us. Like imagine if Braxton was like, 'You can't go out tonight.' I would be like, 'Well, this isn't gonna work out for me,'" she noted, hypothetically. Earle added that no major issues about outings have ever surfaced between her and Berrios, saying the pair "never really have that problem." She also said she refrains from "nagging" Berrios and "asking him a million questions when he is having one of his "boy's nights." "We just kind of trust each other," the content creator concluded. Training camps recently opened across the NFL and the preseason opened Thursday night with the annual Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. The Texans open the regular season on Sept. 7 against the Los Angeles Rams.
