Watch Marcus Freeman, Leonard Moore discuss season two of \
There will be a second season of "Here Come The Irish", a documentary that provides an inside look at Notre Dame Fighting Irish football.
Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and defensive back Leonard Moore went on "The Today Show" to discuss the second season of the show. We reviewed season one recently.
Freeman joked that "it took some convincing. I said 'there are some things they may have to edit'," while Moore said he took advantage of the chance to discuss his epilepsy.
"It's something I remind myself of every time I go out on the field," Moore said.
Season two of "Here Come the Irish" doesn't yet have a release date -- it's in production now.

Ben Shelton cruises through opening round at Washington 500
Back on American soil following a quarter-final finish at Wimbledon, former Florida Gator and world No. 8 Ben Shelton cruised his opening match at the Mubadala Citi DC Open against fellow American Mackenzie McDonald (No. 95), 6-3, 6-4, on Tuesday night. It took just 1 hour and 15 minutes for Shelton to get the job done in the stadium, hitting 23 winners and nine aces. Shelton punished McDonald whenever the latter missed his first serve. Shelton won 17 of 24 second serve return points and won two of three critical break points. Shelton dominated the opening set. The two were about even whenever rallying, but Shelton's overpowering serve proved to be an early difference-maker. That's par for the course for Shelton, especially in these early rounds at 500-level events. He has only truly struggled against the world's No. 1 and No. 2 players this season in Grand Slam play, so these games are about fine-tuning his game and improving his weaknesses. He moved well on the hard court and played a strong return game. The second game was more of the same. McDonald spent most of Shelton's service points trying to figure out how to return a first serve coming in at 130 mph on average. Shelton's fastest of the day came in at 145 mph, and he only had to play a second serve twice. Shelton will face Gabriel Diallo in the Round of 16 on Thursday. While the two have never met at an ATP Tour event, Diallo got the best of Shelton, 5-7, 7-6(5), 6-3, at an October 2022 Challenger Tour event. Diallo reached the final in that tournament. Should Shelton advance, he'd have a chance to play doubles partner and fellow American Francis Tiafoe in the quarter-finals. Another option is Flavio Cobolli, which sets up a rematch of last year's semi-final at this event. Purdue coach Barry Odom took shot at Indiana football schedule. Curt Cignetti responds
LAS VEGAS — Indiana coach Curt Cignetti expected criticism of his program's scheduling approach from the entitled fanbase in the SEC. Last week the fire came from closer to home. Purdue coach Barry Odom took a passing shot at the Hoosiers' preference for low-level nonconference opponents. Cignetti said he saw Odom's comments, made last week on an Indianapolis radio show. Odom said teams owe it to fans to play schedules full of compelling games. Purdue plays Notre Dame annually in addition to its nine Big Ten games. In the wake of news that IU had canceled future series with Virginia, Odom also took a swipe at his team's biggest rival. "I could take the approach of one of the other schools in the state, cancel games and do some of those things, but the schedule is what it is," Odom said. Tuesday at Big Ten media days, Cignetti was asked if he was surprised by Odom's comment. Fire away: Purdue football coach Barry Odom takes shot at Indiana's schedule "I like Barry Odom," Cignetti said, later winking. "Taking a shot at our schedule — did I think about it much? Not really, but that would be an overstatement. "... Not that I didn't think much of it (as in) he shouldn't have done that. I saw it. It was a flicker in my brain, and then it was over." Beyond this season. Purdue plays both Wake Forest and Notre Dame in both 2026 and 2028, North Carolina and the Fighting Irish in 2027, Vanderbilt in 2029 and TCU in 2030. Indiana currently has no power conference non-Big Ten games scheduled until a 2030 game against Notre Dame. Despite an uninspiring nonconference schedule, the Hoosiers were prepared enough to beat Purdue 66-0 in last season's Old Oaken Bucket game. After that game, Purdue fired Ryan Walters and hired Odom. Until that gap closes, Purdue coaches will have more concern about playing IU than who the Hoosiers play in the other 11 games. ACC Kickoff reveals potential UNC plans to leave for another conference
UNC leaving the ACC would create enormous ripple effects. It's extremely difficult to imagine an ACC without UNC, one of the conference's original, seven founding members back in May 1953. With continued conference realignment talks, which include the ideas of "super-conferences" and dissolution of smaller ones, North Carolina leaving the ACC continues to gain traction. Steve Newmark is set to take over as the Tar Heels' athletic director in 2026, replacing longtime AD Bubba Cunningham. According to Inside Carolina, UNC to the SEC could be expedited under Newmark's future leadership. But make no mistake, now, the SEC is where the Tar Heels are aiming under the leadership of Roberts and Newmark, should UNC move to leave the ACC for another league, perhaps in the near future," InsideCarolina's Adam Smith wrote. "Sources said the 2030-31 school year, when the ACC's decreasing exit fees dip from $93 million to the flat $75 million threshold, would figure to become an important final line of demarcation, if the Tar Heels haven't made their departure sooner. Seven decades ago, UNC was one of the original member schools in the 1953 founding of the ACC." The ACC, once arguably the premier conference across collegiate athletics, is giving way to the money-loaded SEC in recent seasons. Look at the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament alone: North Carolina, Duke, Clemson and Louisville were the only four ACC teams to make it, whereas the SEC had 14 bids. Transitioning to football, the SEC is a powerhouse compared to the ACC, which is essentially Clemson and everybody else. Florida State is typically a strong program, but the Seminoles suffered through a 2-10 season in 2024, with one of their losses coming against the Tar Heels. It's no secret the ACC needs to have a monster football season, with UNC particular a team of focus. Not everyone will finish over .500, but ACC football needs to re-establish itself this fall.
