PS6 Early Leak: Brutal Price below PS5 Pro! (+ AMD RDNA 5 IPC)
According to this leak, the base model of PS6, codenamed 'Orion', is going to stick with AMD for its processor. This console is going to feature 40 to 48 RDNA 5 compute units, which can boost to 3 gigahertz and beyond. The leak also suggested that Sony is going to prioritize power efficiency, even lower than PS5 and will put heavy emphasis on cost constraints.
The AMD CPU in the console is going to have 8 Zen 6 (or even later) cores along with a GPU memory architecture of 160-bit or 192-bit with Graphics Double Data Rate 7 SDRAM.
Not only that, the Rasterisation Performance of the PS6 (the ability of a GPU to convert 3D geometric data into pixels on the screen) is expected to be 3 times superior to the PS5.
Now coming to the rumored handheld console, according to the YouTuber, this device is codenamed as 'Canis.' and is going to be a handheld variant of the PS6. The most exciting feature of this handheld device is its backwards compatibility to PS5 and PS4 generations. AMD stock slips after Q2 profit miss, but AI-driven $8.7 billion Q3 forecast sparks investor hope
AMD dropped its second-quarter report, and while the numbers didn't scream 'perfect,' there was still enough to keep investors interested. The chipmaker, known for taking the fight to rivals like Intel and Nvidia, missed Wall Street's earnings estimate by a whisker. But revenue came in strong, showing that demand across key segments hasn't cooled off. The highlight? AMD's forecast for the upcoming quarter. With demand for AI chips growing rapidly, the company expects a sharp boost in sales. It's also rolling out new AI hardware that could shake up the competition. But at the same time, trade restrictions and export delays still hover over its roadmap, especially in China. AMD revenue beats estimates despite earnings slip For Q2 2025, AMD posted adjusted earnings of 48 cents per share, just under the expected 49 cents. Revenue, though, stood tall at $7.7 billion, beating the $7.4 billion forecast. Year-over-year, that's a 32% rise, driven by solid growth in personal computing and gaming. 🚨 $AMD Q2 Earnings 🚨• Sales $7.7B vs Est. $7.4B• EPS $0.48 vs. Est. $0.48• Data Center Sales $3.2B -- up 14% YoY• Gross Margin 43% vs. Est. 54%Q3 Outlook• Sales $8.7B vs Est. $8.3BAMD says U.S. export controls led to $800M in inventory charges -- gross margin… The company's net income reached $872 million, up from $265 million in the same quarter last year. However, profit was impacted by the lingering effect of U.S. export restrictions, especially around its MI308 AI chips. AMD AI forecast shines a light on Q3 AMD expects to bring in around $8.7 billion in revenue for Q3, give or take $300 million. That's more than what analysts predicted, and it suggests confidence in its next-gen AI chips. CEO Lisa Su pointed to the rollout of the Instinct MI350 series, which AMD claims can rival Nvidia's Blackwell chips in both training and inference. 'Seven of the top ten AI companies are now using Instinct,' Su told analysts during the earnings call. That's a big step up for AMD, especially as firms like Meta and OpenAI look for alternatives to Nvidia's more expensive chips. China export ban: A costly delay for AMD One of the biggest challenges AMD faced this year was the temporary U.S. ban on exporting its MI308 AI chips to China. That move cost the company roughly $800 million in lost revenue and led to an operating loss of $155 million last quarter. Although the Trump administration has now relaxed those restrictions, AMD is still waiting for final clearance to resume shipments. AMD has now delivered two consecutive quarters of declining Data Center stock is down 4.7% after hours.$AMD For now, AMD's Q3 forecast does not include revenue from China-bound AI chips. But once sales restart, it could help AMD recover a big chunk of what it lost earlier this year. Gaming and client segments push ahead While AI grabs headlines, AMD's traditional businesses are also pulling their weight. The gaming segment brought in $1.1 billion in revenue, a 73% increase year-over-year, driven by demand for custom console chips and GPUs. The client's business, which includes desktop and laptop CPUs, pulled in $2.5 billion, up 57% from last year. The data centre segment delivered $3.2 billion, a 14% rise, though just shy of analyst forecasts. AMD's Ryzen Zen 5 processors helped boost momentum in the PC space, where the company continues to eat into Intel's market share. AMD is rivalling Nvidia in the AI segment Despite the upbeat forecast, AMD still trails Nvidia by a large margin in the AI chip race. Nvidia remains the go-to for training large models, thanks to its dominant GPUs and widespread developer support. But AMD is slowly building its case, especially in inference, where price and efficiency matter more. $AMD -- THE INFERENCE ENGINE OF AI -- REPORTS 32% YoY GROWTH 🤯 The MI350 series is AMD's answer to Nvidia's GB200 platform. Su says the new chips offer four times the performance and 35 times better inferencing compared to their previous models. If real-world adoption follows, AMD could start closing the gap sooner than expected.

AMD's China Concerns Overshadow Upbeat Sales Forecast for AI
Advanced Micro Devices Inc., the second-largest maker of artificial intelligence processors, warned that its return to the crucial China market remains a work in progress, overshadowing a generally upbeat forecast for its AI business. As part of its quarterly earnings report on Tuesday, AMD declined to predict Chinese sales of its Instinct MI308, an AI processor that it designed for the Asian country. The Trump administration had barred shipments of such chips to China in April, though it reversed course last month, raising hopes that AMD and rival Nvidia Corp. could soon resume sales. China is the largest market for semiconductors, and the restrictions have threatened to erase billions of dollars in total revenue from both companies. 'We appreciate the focus the Trump administration is placing on ensuring that US technology remains central to global AI infrastructure and we expect to resume MI308 shipments as licenses are approved, subject to end customer demand and supply chain readiness,' Chief Executive Officer Lisa Su said on a conference call with analysts. 'As our licenses are still under review, we are not including any MI308 revenue in our third-quarter guidance.' Su was optimistic about the overall market for AI computing. 'Looking ahead, we see a clear path to scaling our AI business to tens of billions of dollars in annual revenue,' she said during the call. The company also is ramping up its new MI350 lineup, she said. AMD shares initially fell more than 5% in extended trading on the China concern, before paring the losses during the conference call. They had gained 44% in 2025 through the close, making AMD the best-performing stock in the semiconductor industry. Third-quarter sales will be about $8.7 billion, the company said, topping the average analyst estimate of $8.37 billion. AMD's second-quarter sales rose 32% to $7.7 billion, compared with a $7.43 billion average estimate. Profit was 48 cents a share, minus certain items. Analysts projected 49 cents. Data center sales gained 14% to $3.2 billion in the period. On average, analysts had predicted $3.25 billion. Personal computer-related sales climbed 67% to $2.5 billion. The average prediction was $2.56 billion. Three months ago, AMD said it was taking $800 million in writedowns related to the export restrictions and warned that the curbs would cost it $1.5 billion in revenue this year. Wall Street has been waiting for a revised outlook in light of the shifting policy. In the decade since Su took the top job at AMD, the company has become a key provider of technology across the computing industry. The ability to deliver competitive products — at a time when longtime nemesis Intel Corp. has stumbled — has brought a reversal of fortunes. AMD's market capitalization is now roughly $200 billion higher than Intel's. Still, neither company has matched the runaway success of Nvidia, whose dominance of AI accelerators has made it the world's most valuable business. AMD is the second-biggest provider of graphics chips, which form the basis for the AI accelerators that run in data centers. Its microprocessors, meanwhile, go head to head with Intel products in the markets for PCs and servers. This article was generated from an automated news agency feed without modifications to text.
