Lassi shopkeepers in Mathura got into a wild street fight near a temple, over customer competition; kulhads, sticks, and bricks were thrown.
A fight broke out between lassi shopkeepers near the Radha Rani Temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Two groups of lassi sellers got into a heated argument over attracting customers, which turned into a full-blown fight.
The clash, now being called the 'Kulhad war," happened in broad daylight near the road leading to the Barsana Ladli Ji Temple. The incident quickly went viral and reminded people of the 2021 Baghpat chaat stall brawl.
The dramatic video shows the brawl happening just outside one of Braj's most sacred temples. Shopkeepers are seen throwing kulhads and hitting each other in front of shocked onlookers. The incident caused panic among visitors and locals nearby.
Bricks, Sticks, and Kulhads
In the viral video, shopkeepers can be seen attacking each other using sticks, bricks, and even kulhads (earthen cups). The scene quickly became chaotic as a large crowd gathered. Reports say several people, including a woman, were injured. No police were seen at the spot during the fight.
As per India Today, SP Rural Suresh Chand Rawat said in a statement, 'The fight was between two groups of lassi sellers over customer competition. A woman has also been injured. We have received a complaint, and strict action will be taken against those responsible."

Social Media Reactions
People online were quick to compare this to the Baghpat chaat stall fight from four years ago. That fight had also involved street vendors battling over customers using sticks and rods, which led to a meme storm at the time.
A user commented on the recent video, 'Picture India's biz scene as a wild jungle, survival instincts on blast, thriving as the 4th biggest economy. Roar!"
Another added, 'Girl have the survival instinct of a child..going in middle for no reason."
An individual joked, 'After the 'Battle of Baghpat' we got 'The kulhad yudh of Barsana'."
Flashback: Battle of Baghpat
In 2021, the town of Baghpat saw a similar fight between two chaat vendors. The video went viral because of how intense and dramatic the brawl was. One man, with henna-streaked hair, stood out and became famous online. Social media users dubbed him 'chacha' and turned the moment into a meme fest.

After 3.5-Year Ban, Brendan Taylor Makes 'Record-Breaking' Comeback To International Cricket

Last Updated: The ICC banned 39-year-old Brendan Taylor in January 2022 after he admitted to accepting $15,000 from Indian businessmen who approached him to fix international matches in 2019 Brendan Taylor made a historic return to international cricket on Thursday, following a three-and-a-half-year ban, as Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bat first in the second and final Test against New Zealand. Taylor's comeback saw him breaking numerous long-standing records. Initially debuting in a Test match against Sri Lanka in Harare in 2004, Taylor has now set the record for the longest Test career among active cricketers since the 21st century. In his 35th Test match, Taylor surpassed England's renowned fast bowler James Anderson in terms of career longevity among all cricketers who began their careers in this century. Only India's legendary Sachin Tendulkar, with a Test career spanning 24 years and 1 day over 200 matches since 1989, boasts a longer career. The International Cricket Council (ICC) banned the 39-year-old Taylor in January 2022 after he accepted four charges related to an incident in 2019 under the Anti-Corruption Code. Taylor had confessed to accepting $15,000 from Indian businessmen who had asked him to fix international matches. Although Taylor claimed he never fixed any games, he was found guilty of a doping violation due to a positive test for the stimulant benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine. New Zealand leads the series 1-0 after defeating Zimbabwe by nine wickets in the first Test at the same venue last week. Zimbabwe made two changes, replacing opener Ben Curran with fast bowler Trevor Gwandu, and fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri also joining the team. New Zealand faced challenges with fast bowlers Nathan Smith and Will O'Rourke ruled out due to injuries sustained in the first Test, and Michael Bracewell leaving to play in The Hundred in England. Consequently, New Zealand handed Test debuts to fast bowlers Jacob Duffy, Matthew Fisher, and Zachary Faulks. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Russian Drones Target Civilians As Putin Tightens Grip On Ukraine's Kherson

Last Updated: Over the past week, Russian forces have damaged a key bridge connecting Kherson's main city with the island district of Korabel, sparking a large-scale evacuation effort Russia has intensified its drone campaign in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, targeting civilian areas with near-daily strikes as it attempts to tighten control over the region. The renewed assault has forced the evacuation of hundreds of residents and drawn sharp criticism from local officials and international observers. Over the past week, Russian forces have damaged a key bridge connecting Kherson's main city with the island district of Korabel, sparking a large-scale evacuation effort. Around 1,800 civilians remain on the island, and Ukrainian rescuers reported removing more than 900 by midweek. Although the evacuation convoys were temporarily spared from drone attacks, the rest of the city continues to endure unrelenting strikes. Ukrainian officials accuse Russia of deliberately targeting civilians using drones. Yaroslav Shanko, head of Kherson's city military administration, speaking to CNN, said, 'They absolutely do not care what the targets are." 'Talking about any humanity from the Russians is absolutely pointless. Strikes on the community and the city are constant," Shanko added. Another resident, Nina, 85, fled Korabel in 35°C heat with the help of volunteers. Separated from her belongings, she stood with a crutch at an aid point. 'There is no plan, I will live where they put me," she said. 'I am on one leg. I am so tired of this shooting that my nerves can't take it anymore." Drone strikes have become a defining feature of Russia's war tactics in Kherson. Local hospitals are overwhelmed, treating dozens of injuries from recent shelling and drone attacks. According to Human Rights Watch (HRW), these attacks are not isolated. A report published in January accused Russia of routinely using commercially available quadcopter drones—many made domestically or in China—to hunt and harm civilians. The NGO stated that dozens have been killed and hundreds injured in clear violations of international law. 'Russian drone operators are able to track their targets, with high-resolution video feeds, leaving little doubt that the intent is to kill, maim, and terrify civilians," Belkis Wille, director on arms and conflict at HRW, had said. Court Allows 26/11 Mumbai Attack Accused Tahawwur Rana To Speak To Family Members

Last Updated: Rana, a Pakistani-Canadian national, is a close associate of 26/11 conspirator David Coleman Headley alias Dawood Gilani Delhi's Patiala House Court on Thursday allowed 26/11 Mumbai attack accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana to speak to family members. Authorities of Tihar jail in New Delhi, where Rana is lodged, had earlier opposed his plea over security concerns. Rana told the court that he needs to consult his family before deciding whether to change his legal aid counsel, and requested a one-time phone call for that purpose. This was not the first time Rana had sought permission to speak with his family. An earlier similar plea had been accepted, allowing him to make a one-time phone call. Who Is Tahawwur Rana? Rana, a Pakistani-Canadian national and a close associate of 26/11 conspirator David Coleman Headley alias Dawood Gilani, was extradited to India earlier this year after the US Supreme Court rejected his review petition on April 4. Rana's involvement in the 2008 Mumbai attacks places him among the most high-profile accused. On November 26, 2008, a group of 10 Pakistani terrorists went on a rampage, carrying out attacks on a railway station, two luxury hotels, and a Jewish centre, sneaking into India's financial capital through the sea route. A total of 166 people were killed in the assault that lasted for nearly 60 hours. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
