Fans can't wait for this wild rom-com about BDSM and ‘toxic situationships'
Sony Pictures Classics has just dropped the first trailer for Oh, Hi!, and if the internet is any indication, fans are already obsessed.
The chaotic, funny, and unexpectedly tender romantic comedy stars Molly Gordon and Logan Lerman as Iris and Isaac.
The film, directed by Sophie Brooks (The Boy Downstairs), follows Iris and Isaac on what should be a dreamy first couples getaway.
There's a charming romantic dinner, dancing under fairy lights, and even an experimental foray into BDSM.
But things take a sharp left turn when Iris dares to use the word 'couple.' Isaac quickly backpedals, prompting Iris to do something… bold.
'Why would you bring me here? Why would you spend all day acting like my boyfriend!?' she demands, standing over a very handcuffed Isaac.
'You're being kinda crazy right now,' he replies.
Spoiler: that does not calm her down.
The film co-stars Geraldine Viswanathan, John Reynolds, David Cross, Jimmy Gary Jr., and Polly Draper, rounding out an all-star cast.
Since its premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, Oh, Hi! has been building buzz.
Kevin Fallon of The Daily Beast's Obsessed called it 'a hilarious comedy' that disrupts rom-com expectations while The Guardian notes '…the film does happen upon a real, and painful, truth of the problems that come from dating without a label.'
Many critics have also noted the strength of Molly Gordon's performance, with Variety calling it 'boundless and bouncily unhinged.'
It's also struck a chord online, with fans losing their minds over the Lerman-Gordon pairing and the movie's unhinged premise.
'I am so seated for sexy indie Gerald's Game,' tweeted @SeriousMolly.
'Molly Gordon has so much on screen power. She should be in more projects,' added @Haiderjkhan.
@_tweetsbyjess declared: 'Girl this seems like a hit to me!! We will be watching.'
And perhaps most appropriately, @stylesgala posted: 'Someone is going to have to restrain me when I see oh, hi!' More Trending
Gordon, who also co-wrote the story with Brooks, told Vanity Fair the film is about modern dating frustrations and the emotional confusion that comes with them.
'With apps, it's just such a hard time to date in our modern age, and we've had a communication breakdown between sexes,' she said.
'We just wanted to make something that is about how hard it is to just be honest about how you feel about someone.'
Catch Oh, Hi! in theaters starting July 25, Bring Your Own Handcuffs (BYOH).

Sophie Turner hits back at claims she ‘forgot' children at Oasis concert
Sophie Turner has blasted her critics after being called out for simply enjoying an Oasis gig. The 29-year-old former Game of Thrones star – who has daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two, with ex husband Joe Jonas – recently revealed she'd enjoyed a night out at the Britpop legends' ongoing reunion tour. Last week, Sophie shared some photos and videos from her night at one of the Wonderwall band's recent Wembley Stadium gigs. 'Bucket hats & beers…. That'll do me. Thank you @levis,' she captioned the innocuous post. However, that was enough for her to be mum-shamed by a troll in the comments, who claimed she had 'forgotten' her children by daring to have an evening out. 'Lmfao. I think she has forgotten that she has two kids,' they commented in something of an overreaction. Sophie replied: 'Ah I'm so sorry sometimes I forget some people can't think for themselves. 'So… Get this…There's this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.' That answers that then. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Sophie's ex Joe filed for divorce in September 2023, and despite a tense legal battle the couple later reached a custody agreement. They said at the time: 'After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK. 'We look forward to being great co-parents.' Despite the initial disagreements, the couple have moved on to do what's best for their children, and Joe has spoken openly about Sophie as a positive role model for their girls. In May, he told Jay Shetty: 'Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true. As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them. 'I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart, be able to walk into any room and feel confidence and know that they can do literally anything they want.' More Trending Just last month, the Jonas Brothers singer revealed he and his ex have a 'great co-parenting relationship'. He told the School of Greatness podcast: 'I have a great co-parenting relationship, which is really important to me.' He described being a father to his 'beautiful' children as 'the greatest joy and journey', while praising the influence Sophie has on their kids. He added: 'My little ones have some incredible women to look up to, including their mom.' Got a story? Coronation Street's Theo spirals as he lashes out in new video
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Theo Silverton's (James Cartwright) behaviour has become increasingly more alarming in the weeks and months since the revelation that he'd been the victim of sick conversion therapy in Coronation Street. Coming into his relationship with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) with more baggage than Heathrow, the two have attempted to stand united as bomb after bomb dropped. Todd learned Theo was married to a woman who had no idea that he was anything other than straight and was also the mother of his two children. Then followed Theo's daughter, Millie and her fake pregnancy designed to bring her father home. Though Theo knew that Millie had made up the entire thing, trying to frame Todd for forcing her into an unwanted abortion, he used the situation as means to manipulate Todd initially. Todd later sought comfort with James Bailey (Jason Callender), who misread the sign, leaning in for a kiss just as Theo re-entered. Theo again used the situation to exert power over Todd, darkly threatening James, too. Speaking about Theo's outbursts, star Gareth Pierce told us previously: 'I think at this point, we're starting to spot some anger management issues on Theo's part, at the very least. There's some flashes of anger that have left Todd shocked but equally, because he's had that insight into the conversion therapy and where Theo is coming into this new life from, he's perhaps willing to guide him through it. 'He's trying to be understanding of Theo. He's been suppressing his sexuality for so long, Todd is trying to encourage him towards being someone that can be comfortable in their new gay identity.' On whether Todd is fully aware of Theo's controlling behaviour, Gareth said: 'I think Todd has spotted many things from Theo, but he still has the mindset that he can fix this and because of the love that's there, he's thinking they will get through it. 'Our audience are probably also spotting some of those flashes of jealousy and perhaps a kind of need to control that maybe Todd is not currently spotting or doesn't want to spot.' After a series of violent clashes with both twisted conversion therapy practitioner Noah Hedley (Richard Winsor) and even Theo's own family, fans concerns grew for Todd when Theo insisted he sleep on the couch while he took the bed, despite it being Todd's house. Gareth further elaborated on just how much Todd was willing to take: 'He knows there are very valid reasons for Theo's confusion and probably some internalised homophobia, but that doesn't mean you can excuse all of the less healthy approaches to navigating the relationship. That will be, in many ways, Todd's biggest challenge, how to steer the relationship to somewhere healthy' Things got increasingly strange for Todd when Theo was questioned regarding an incident in the precinct, with this coming with the revelation that Theo had a history of violence. Upon his return to the Street, Theo is sickened to see that his family is pictured on promo materials for Noah's church and, cancelling a lunch date with Todd, he retreats to the builders yard. More Trending We get a glimpse inside Theo's head in this new clip, as while he repeatedly flicks an elastic band against an already-injured wrist, he hears the voices, all hurling a sadistic volley of abuse toward him. Looking into the mirror, Theo is finally completely broken as he catches his reflection. Disgusted by what he sees, he proceeds to trash the builder's yard in a fit of rage.
