Seahawks sign DL Seth Coleman
The Seahawks announced that they have re-signed Coleman to their 90-man roster. Wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. was waived with an injury designation in a corresponding move.
Coleman initially signed with the Seahawks in May after going undrafted out of Illinois. He had 183 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries while in college.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said that Foster, who was also undrafted this year, suffered a hamstring injury. He had 108 catches for 1,426 yards and eight touchdowns at Michigan State.

Raheem Morris: Dan Campbell and I agreed to run out the clock after Morice Norris injury
After Lions safety Morice Norris was taken off the field in an ambulance early in the fourth quarter of Friday's preseason game in Atlanta, Falcons coach Raheem Morris spoke with Lions coach Dan Campbell, and they both agreed to stop playing. Morris said after the game that he and Campbell talked on the field in the aftermath of Norris's injury and felt that out of respect for Norris and his family, it would be best not to play anymore. So the Falcons took one snap with 14:31 remaining in the fourth quarter and all the players on the field just stood together and let the clock run out. "Just Dan and myself, respect for his family, Morice Norris, it was that simple," Morris said. "There's not a lot of times that happens. I can't sit here and tell you I've been through a lot of those or seen a lot of those. I don't think any of us have. That was the moment decision and it was the right thing to do for our football team and the Lions' football team with what happened tonight." Morris said he doesn't know and gave no consideration to whether the league office would approve of two teams agreeing between themselves to effectively cut a game short by a quarter. "I don't know. That wasn't in my thought right now," Morris said. "The thought process for both of us was about Morice Norris and his family. That's what it's all about." In a preseason game, it's hard to imagine the league office disagreeing with the decision that Campbell and Morris made. Players were shaken by how serious the injury to Norris looked, and weren't prepared to keep going. The Lions offered some good news after the game, announcing that Norris is stable and has movement in all his extremities.

Letters to Sports: Luka or LeBron? Lakers need both
It's good to see that Luka Doncic was rewarded with an extension for working hard to attain a better game-playing weight. Next he must work to get better at playing defense so the Lakers will be rewarded with more victories. Mark SherwinLos Angeles Laker nation stop and take a deep breath. Lakers fans love, and are extremely happy, to have Luka Doncic wearing the purple and gold. However, let's not forget LeBron James, a bona fide NBA MVP championship player on the team sporting four championship rings on his fingers and four MVPs. James' leadership on the floor in 2025-2026 is the only way the Lakers can challenge for, and be expected to win, another NBA championship. Every player on the team knows that. So do we, the fans. Donald PepparsPomona Move Mookie We all love Mookie Betts. But right now, he is a liability batting in the top of the order. You have to move him down until he figures it out. Hopefully soon. R.D. McCallFallbrook Mookie's loss of power is understandable what with the weight loss and other injuries. In the absence of power, he can help the team by being a patient hitter, getting on base, moving runners, etc. In time his power might come back but even if it doesn't, he can still be a valuable offensive presence. D.G. ArtisWoodland Hills I know that Mookie Betts has tried everything physically possible to get out of his slump. But, as a retired optometrist, I would like to recommend a complete eye examination to find his mojo again. It has worked for Max Muncy and Kiké Hernández. Four eyes are always better than two eyes.
