YouTubers Alanna Panday and Ivor McCray, whose channel has gained significant momentum since the success of Alanna's brother Ahaan Panday's debut film release, recently went back to their home in Los Angeles. Alanna was in Mumbai for the release of her brother's film Saiyaara and ended up spending five months in India. She recently went back to LA with husband Ivor and in their latest vlog, the couple shared that they have been looking to buy a bigger house in the city.
Alanna shared that they are currently living in a 3-bedroom house but she wants to now move into a 5-bedroom house with a backyard. She shared that they are 'exploding out of this house as there is no space.' She then shared her list of criteria that needs to be met for the new house. 'One of them is natural light, high ceilings which I feel is missing in our house right now. Another one is we want it to be 4-5 bedrooms. Right now, we are in a 3-bedroom house. Ideally, we would want it to be 5 bedrooms but I don't want to stretch,' she shared.
Alanna then continued her list and shared, 'We want a bigger backyard. We want space for River. We want Ivor's mom to spend more time with us so we are looking for a house with a casita at the back so she can have her own space when she comes, and that way my mom can come.'

Alanna and Ivor went through few houses and did not like any of them enough to put down an offer. Some didn't seem as baby-friendly, and for some, the cost of the renovation was too high. Another house, which appeared to be quite a catch from afar, gave Ivor a 'weird vibe.' ''Ivor thinks some weird stuff happened in the house,' he said as Alanna added that this was 'not a very warm house' because of the lack of wood.
Alanna and Ivor are parents to son River,w ho was born in June 2024.

MV Minajagi Art Gallery seeks support for infra development

Hubballi: The MV Minajagi Art Gallery, which long struggled to secure a permanent space for its painting exhibitions, has finally regained access to a dedicated building in Vidyanagar. Constructed specifically to support artistic pursuits, the building was handed over to the Dr MV Minajagi Kala Mandir Samiti in Jan. However, the gallery continues to grapple with the lack of basic infrastructure such as electricity and painting. In a bid to address these challenges, the gallery sought assistance from the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) and local elected representatives. The HDMC relocated its zonal office from the first floor to the ground floor of the building, thereby allocating the upper floor exclusively for the gallery's use. Efforts are on to transform the space into a vibrant space for artists and enthusiasts alike. However, support from local authorities and the community will be crucial in realising this vision. GR Mallapur, secretary, Dr MV Minajagi Kala Mandir Samiti, said they approached Hubballi-Dharwad Central MLA Mahesh Tenginakai for funding. "Tenginakai assured Rs 10 lakh for the project and directed HDMC officials to prepare a detailed estimate and begin work. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? The samiti also requested MLA Tenginkai for a separate entrance for gallery visitors and the installation of special lighting to enhance the display of artworks. Mallapur pointed out that cold walls damage the artworks during the rainy season. He stated that the walls need to be repaired and painted to prevent this. "Essential items such as ceiling fans, four tables, 100 plastic chairs, and 10 VIP chairs for guests are also required. A microphone and speaker system are also among the requirements," he said. Other necessities include two shelves to store documents, books, and other materials; installation of CCTVs, one computer, one printer, and an air-conditioning system," he added. Shankar Kadakuntla, an artist and member of the committee, said despite the shortcomings, the gallery managed to conduct seven programmes so far. MLA Mahesh Tenginakai assured that steps will be taken to uplift the art gallery. "Development works will be undertaken in phases, based on the requirements," he said. Rs 90L in subsidies, but artisans still struggle with rising costs

(PTI Photo)(PTI08_13_2025_000314B) Karad: An artist gives finishing touches to an idol of Lord Ganesha ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi festival, in Karad, Maharashtra. (PTI Photo) (PTI08_08_2025_000137B) Despite the corporation's subsidy scheme, traditional idol makers struggle with rising costs, insufficient aid, and labour shortages. Morajkar said the survey to identify PoP idol sales began on Aug 8, and so far, GHRSSIDC's inspection has flagged none. He said that the inspection will continue until Aug 24. 'Local mud clay idols are the customer's first choice, due to our awareness campaigns. The Shadu Mati and coconut fibre idols from Maharashtra are in demand, but not as much as the local clay ones,' Morajkar told TOI . GHRSSIDC offers a subsidy of Rs 250 per idol for up to 250 idols to the local idol makers. As of July 2025, GHRSSIDC received 367 local vendor applications for registration. In 2024, 475 vendors received subsidies totalling Rs 90.5 lakh on the sale of 45,248 idols, Morajkar said. Pernem, Sattari, and Bicholim talukas have the highest concentration of traditional idol makers in Goa. 'Earlier, we used to get the Chikal Mati at Rs 20,000 for a 10m truck. Now, the prices have risen to Rs 25,000,' said Bicholim sculptor Durgaram Shet. Local artisans allege the PoP idol ban is not strictly enforced. The clay idols are heavier, with rich colours being another distinguishing feature. Umakant Poke, a third-generation sculptor from Morjim, said that because certain vendors sell PoP idols, local sculptors catch negative attention from handicraft officials. 'They think we are selling PoP idols. We are trying to earn money with our honest efforts,' Poke said. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI).
