Discussed grave challenges posed by cross-border terrorism to India with Danish leaders, says Gulam Ali Khatana
Copenhagen: BJP MP Gulam Ali Khatana on Saturday stated that the Indian delegates, currently in Denmark, engaged in meaningful discussions with Danish leaders and presented India's resolute stance on terrorism and the need for a unified fight to address the global menace of terrorism.
Khatana, spokesperson of the BJP's Jammu and Kashmir unit, is a part of the delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad. The leaders have conveyed India's stand in France, and Italy is currently in Denmark to present India's unwavering position against terrorism and its perpetrators.
"Honoured to be part of the All Party Delegation of MPs, led by Ravi Shankar Prasad, during our official visit to Denmark. We met Lars-Christian Brask, Deputy Speaker of the Danish Parliament, and briefed him on the heinous Pahalgam Terrorist Attack and India's firm response through Operation Sindoor. India's resolute stance against terrorism and the urgent need for a unified global fight to combat terror was strongly emphasised," Khatana posted on X on Saturday.
The delegation also met a group of former officials, Ministers, Members of Parliament, and diplomat who carry an influential voice in Denmark and abroad.
"We held insightful discussions with select former Members of Parliament, former Ministers, and a former diplomat, focusing on the grave challenges posed by cross-border terrorism to India, India's decisive response through Operation Sindoor, and broader global issues threatening peace and security," Khatana said in another post.
The nine-member delegation includes a diverse political representation: Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP), Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP), Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena-UBT), Ghulam Ali Khatana (BJP), Amar Singh (Congress), Samik Bhattacharya (BJP), M. Thambidurai (AIADMK), former Union Minister M.J. Akbar and former Ambassador Pankaj Saran.
"India's strong condemnation of the terror attack in Pahalgam and resolute action taken in the form of Operation Sindoor formed the focus of briefings given by the Indian delegation to the Danish side. It clarified that India's warranted response through 'Operation Sindoor' was diplomatically measured and commensurate," read a statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Copenhagen.
"The delegation emphasised India's zero-tolerance towards terrorism and stance that any act of violence would be responded to befittingly. India's appreciation of Denmark's public stance condemning the Pahalgam terrorist attack and the expression of solidarity with India was conveyed to the Danish side during the meetings," the statement added.
Furthermore, the delegation also met the local Indian diaspora in an interactive setting, emphasising Operation Sindoor's success and India's resolve to stand firm in our collective fight against terrorism.
The delegates are a part of India's global diplomatic outreach campaign to highlight the significance of Operation Sindoor and India's continued fight against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.

Babulal sheds crocodile tears for tribal land owners, says JMM
Ranchi: JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya on Sunday accused the leader of the opposition and state BJP president Babulal Marandi of shedding crocodile tears for tribal raiyyats (landowners), who are opposing land acquisition for second campus of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (Rims) in Nagri area under the Kanke block. Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Bhattacharya said during Marandi's tenure as chief minister, police firing incidents took place during which people protesting against land acquisitions for projects in Tapkara in Khunti and Neterhaat in Latehar were fired upon. Marandi should apologise for the incidents, the JMM leader said. Notably, Marandi visited Nagri on Saturday and met people, who were opposing Rims-2 in their area. Marandi alleged that the state govt wanted to displace tribals from their agricultural land but he would not allow the acquisition of even an inch without approval of the gram sabha in the villages. Reacting to Marandi's visit and statement, Bhattacharya said so far, the state govt has not issued any notification regarding the place where the new hospital would be built and according to the plan, the new hospital should come up along the ring road. He also claimed that Marandi is raising the issues to serve the interest of one Sunil Sahu. "Details will be provided later on," the JMM leader said. Bhattacharya also said Marandi as the first CM of Jharkhand, adopted the Bihar rules for administering the state which was against the vision of separate Jharkhand for preventing exploitation and protection of tribal identity and rights. He also said during that period, the opposition had demanded the framing of the state's own rules for protecting the tribal land, but Marandi ignored it. "There is a provision in the Land Acquisition and Reform Act 2013 which states that any acquired land not used for five years should be returned to the raiyyats. Marandi must request the BJP-led central govt to return the surplus land of Steel Authority of India Limited, Coal India Limited and Heavy Engineering Corporation in the state," Bhattacharya said. He also took potshots at Marandi saying that when BJP national president and Union health minister J P Nadda called the state's health minister Irfan Ansari for discussions on improving the health facilities in Jharkhand, the state BJP president felt bad about it as he was ignored.

We don't have much education, cannot afford a lawyer, and were living off the help of our Hindu brothers here. DDA's notice stated that the land was part of the Yamuna floodplain and all encroachments on river land adjacent to the gurudwara were ordered to be cleared by the National Green Tribunal. In an order dated May 30 by Justice Dharmesh Sharma, the court observed that it had earlier asked the Union of India, DDA, etc., to relocate and rehabilitate refugees on Yamuna floodplain. The court, however, noted that the effort bore no fruit. It also said that the court cannot undertake the exercise of framing a policy to ameliorate the plight of refugees.
