Discussed grave challenges posed by cross-border terrorism to India with Danish leaders, says Gulam Ali Khatana
Copenhagen: BJP MP Gulam Ali Khatana on Saturday stated that the Indian delegates, currently in Denmark, engaged in meaningful discussions with Danish leaders and presented India's resolute stance on terrorism and the need for a unified fight to address the global menace of terrorism. Khatana, spokesperson of the BJP's Jammu and Kashmir unit, is a part of the delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad. The leaders have conveyed India's stand in France, and Italy is currently in Denmark to present India's unwavering position against terrorism and its perpetrators. "Honoured to be part of the All Party Delegation of MPs, led by Ravi Shankar Prasad, during our official visit to Denmark. We met Lars-Christian Brask, Deputy Speaker of the Danish Parliament, and briefed him on the heinous Pahalgam Terrorist Attack and India's firm response through Operation Sindoor. India's resolute stance against terrorism and the urgent need for a unified global fight to combat terror was strongly emphasised," Khatana posted on X on Saturday. The delegation also met a group of former officials, Ministers, Members of Parliament, and diplomat who carry an influential voice in Denmark and abroad. "We held insightful discussions with select former Members of Parliament, former Ministers, and a former diplomat, focusing on the grave challenges posed by cross-border terrorism to India, India's decisive response through Operation Sindoor, and broader global issues threatening peace and security," Khatana said in another post. The nine-member delegation includes a diverse political representation: Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP), Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP), Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena-UBT), Ghulam Ali Khatana (BJP), Amar Singh (Congress), Samik Bhattacharya (BJP), M. Thambidurai (AIADMK), former Union Minister M.J. Akbar and former Ambassador Pankaj Saran. "India's strong condemnation of the terror attack in Pahalgam and resolute action taken in the form of Operation Sindoor formed the focus of briefings given by the Indian delegation to the Danish side. It clarified that India's warranted response through 'Operation Sindoor' was diplomatically measured and commensurate," read a statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Copenhagen. "The delegation emphasised India's zero-tolerance towards terrorism and stance that any act of violence would be responded to befittingly. India's appreciation of Denmark's public stance condemning the Pahalgam terrorist attack and the expression of solidarity with India was conveyed to the Danish side during the meetings," the statement added. Furthermore, the delegation also met the local Indian diaspora in an interactive setting, emphasising Operation Sindoor's success and India's resolve to stand firm in our collective fight against terrorism. The delegates are a part of India's global diplomatic outreach campaign to highlight the significance of Operation Sindoor and India's continued fight against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.

Modiji Consoled Us Like Kin: Pahalgam Victim Shubham Dwivedi's Family On Their Meet With PM
Last Updated: "When my daughter-in-law and I broke down, Modiji said this fight against terrorism is not over yet. 'Operation Sindoor' will continue,' Sanjay Dwivedi said In a poignant moment at Kanpur's Chakeri Airport on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his one-day visit to the city, paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Shubham Dwivedi – the young man from Kanpur who was killed in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Meeting his grieving family, including wife Alshanya and parents Sanjay and Seema Dwivedi, the Prime Minister offered words of solace and assured them that 'Operation Sindoor" was not over, and that the government remains committed to eliminating terrorism. #WATCH | Kanpur, UP: After meeting PM Modi, Sanjay Dwivedi, father of Shubham Dwivedi, who lost his life in #PahalgamTerroristAttack, says, 'Our family expressed gratitude as in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, an operation was launched against terrorism, the terrorist… — ANI (@ANI) May 30, 2025 EMOTIONAL MEETING AT KANPUR AIRPORT Shubham's wife Alshanya, his father Sanjay Dwivedi, and his mother Seema were present during the interaction. According to family members, the Prime Minister appeared visibly moved by their pain. 'When my daughter-in-law and I broke down, Modiji consoled us like one of our own. He said this fight against terrorism is not over yet – ' Operation Sindoor ' will continue," Sanjay Dwivedi told News18 after the meeting with the PM. 'I AM A HINDU': SHUBHAM'S FINAL WORDS Shubham Dwivedi, who had married just weeks earlier on February 12, was vacationing with his wife and her sister in the scenic Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, when terrorists opened fire on unarmed Hindu tourists. Shubham, according to eyewitness accounts shared with the family, stood in front of the attackers without fear and declared his identity – 'I am a Hindu." He was shot point-blank in the head. 'He took the first bullet, but saved many lives," said his father. 'His courage was not ordinary – it was heroic. His presence of mind gave others those crucial few seconds to run and survive," his father said. During his address in Kanpur later in the day, Prime Minister Modi referred to the incident and said, 'In the cowardly attack in Pahalgam, our son from Kanpur, Shubham Dwivedi, became a victim of brutality," the PM said. 'But the pain and fury of our daughters like Alshanya (Shubham's wife) has echoed in the form of 'Operation Sindoor'. The world has seen that fury," the PM further said during his address. The Prime Minister said that the military operation, launched on 7 May across the Line of Control in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, had devastated terrorist hideouts deep within enemy territory. 'We entered their homes, hundreds of miles inside, and destroyed the breeding grounds of terror," he said. 'Our army's valour compelled the Pakistani forces to beg for a ceasefire. But I want to make it clear – the enemy who was begging during Operation Sindoor should not be under any illusion. The operation is not over yet." #WATCH | Kanpur, UP: After meeting PM Modi, Wife of Shubham Dwivedi, who lost his life in #PahalgamTerroristAttack, Aishanya Dwivedi says, 'PM Modi said that the entire nation and the government are standing with us. Since the attack, the family has made only one request to the government – that Shubham be officially recognised as a martyr. However, on his demand, Shubham's father said that he met the PM just to express his gratitude for 'Operation Sindoor'. 'It was not a suitable time to raise the demand," he said. Initially, the Dwivedi family had raised the demand that Shubham's sacrifice should be honoured, for the sake of every Indian who believes in dharma and courage. Alshanya has been inconsolable since the tragedy. In her tearful exchange with the Prime Minister, she too thanked the PM for his visit and said those responsible should be punished. Shubham was cremated with full state honours on April 24 in his native village, an event attended by Uttar Pradesh cabinet ministers Yogendra Upadhyay and Rakesh Sachan. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath later visited the Dwivedi home personally and promised 'every possible support" to the bereaved family. The attack in Pahalgam claimed 26 lives, including that of a Nepali tourist. The Dwivedis maintain that their son was targeted for his religious identity. 'This wasn't random violence," a family member explained. 'He was attacked because of his faith, and he embraced it even in his last breath. That is the spirit of Bharat." top videos View all SUPPORT ACROSS PARTY LINES On April 30, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also met the Dwivedi family and backed their demand to declare Shubham a martyr. For the family, however, their final hope lies with the Prime Minister. 'We trust Modiji," Sanjay said. All-party delegation slams Pak for promoting its army chief
New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, who is leading one of the seven all-party delegations as part of India's diplomatic outreach, on Tuesday took a swipe at Pakistan's decision to promote its chief of army staff Asim Munir as Field Marshal, while Congress MP Shashi Tharoor-led group in Guyana's National Assembly conveyed India's message against terrorism. Former Union minister MJ Akbar, who is part of the Prasad-led delegation that is touring six European countries, asserted India's clear and thought-through 'no first use' doctrine on nuclear weapons. 'Pakistan is a military state, it is no longer a civilian state. And a military state has a vested interest in conflict because conflict justifies its presence… now it sometimes thinks it can provide a nuclear shelter to terrorists. The Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) has made it very clear that there can be no nuclear blackmail,' Akbar said in Paris. The delegation met the members of Parliament in the French National Assembly led by Thierry Tesson, the president of the India France Friendship group. Hitting out a Pakistan, Prasad said: 'The most hilarious aspect was that the general whose forces were defeated at the hands of India decisively was promoted to Field Marshal. This is state of denial.' Munir became only the second army officer in Pakistan's history after Ayub Khan to be elevated to Field Marshal. 'We have not come to Paris and meeting you in happier times. But we have to come to convey some straight message. Terrorism is not India-centric, terrorism is now a global phenomenon. In the majority of the cases, terrorists, their patrons, and the terror groups based in Pakistan have direct or indirect involvement. Today, there are 52 designated terrorists by UN,' Prasad said while talking to French journalists. 'The distinction between the state of Pakistan and terrorism has withered away. Terrorism as an instrument of state policy is a part of the military state of Pakistan,' the BJP MP added. In Guyana, Congress MP Tharoor said the delegation's primary objective was to raise awareness about India's stance on terrorism and recent events in the subcontinent. 'Asked for evidence of Pakistani complicity in the #PahalgamTerroristAttack, I pointed to the claims of The Resistance Front, a known frontal organ of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, and the attendance of uniformed Pakistani military and police personnel at a terrorist's funeral — with picture!' The Tharoor-led delegation will be in Panama from May 27-29. The delegation led by JD(U) lawmaker Sanjay Jha called on Sim Ann, senior minister of state for foreign affairs and home affairs in the government of Singapore. Senior minister of state Janil Puthucheary and local MPs Vikram Nair and Saktiandi Supaat were also present. Meanwhile, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad was admitted to a hospital in Kuwait. 'He is stable, under medical supervision, and will be undergoing some tests and procedures. His contributions to the meetings in Bahrain and Kuwait were highly impactful, and he is disappointed at being bedridden. We will deeply miss his presence in Saudi Arabia and Algeria,' delegation head and BJP MP Baijayant Panda said in a post on X. Indian delegations are travelling to 33 global capitals to reach out to the international community on Pakistan's designs and India's response to terror after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. India carried out precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7 under Operation Sindoor, following which Pakistan attempted to attack the Indian military bases over the next three days. The Indian side responded strongly to the Pakistani actions.

Three terrorists gunned down in J-K's Shopian; army says op ongoing
The security forces killed three terrorists in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday. Taking to X, Additional Directorate General of Public Information wrote, "On 13 May 2025, based on specific intelligence of a #RashtriyasRifles Unit, about the presence of terrorists in the general area of Shoekal Keller, #Shopian, #IndianArmy launched a search and destroy Operation. During the operation, terrorists opened heavy fire, and fierce firefight ensued, which resulted in the elimination of three hardcore terrorists (sic)." The ADGPI further said that the operation is still in progress. This comes just days after both India and Pakistan announced an "understanding to stop all firing and military action". Both India and Pakistan engaged in cross-border drone and missile strikes, which came after India launched ' Operation Sindoor ' on terrorist infrastructure at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The coordinated missile strikes were in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists. It is worth noting that earlier today, Jammu and Kashmir police released photos of three terror suspects for their alleged involvement in the Pahalgam attack and announced a reward of ₹20 lakh. In a statement, the Pakistani military also claimed that 40 civilians died and 121 others were injured on the night of May 6-7, when India launched 'Operation Sindoor'. India has maintained that the precision strikes were launched to destroy terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK, and military installations and civilians were not the target.
