TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud denies rift over padayatra; blames 'false' media reports
NIZAMABAD: Refuting the 'false' reports being published by certain media houses, claiming that there is opposition within the Congress over the ongoing Janahita Padayatra, TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Sunday alleged that some people were trying to create a rift among the ruling party leaders. The TPCC chief was addressing a district-level Congress workers meeting at Argul village as the Padayatra continued in the Nizamabad district. 'Some media outlets have been spreading false information, claiming that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had requested the AICC leadership to stop the Janahita Padayatra. The programme was proposed by the chief minister and finalised in Delhi in the presence of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka,' he said. 'There are no differences within the Congress. Those who are trying to create divisions in the Congress for personal and political gains would be disappointed,' he added. Referring to the upcoming local body elections, the TPCC chief expressed confidence in the ruling party securing maximum number of seats. 'In the next Assembly elections too, the Congress would secure 80 per cent of the seats and retain power. This government would last for more than 15 years.' Earlier in the day, the Congress leaders participated in a 'sramadanam' programme at the Aluru ZPHS School.

BRS neglected irrigation sector during their 10-year regime: Bhatti
Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said that Telangana's irrigation water needs are still being met by projects built by previous Congress govts on the Krishna and Godavari rivers. He added that the BRS did nothing for the development of the irrigation sector during their 10-year regime. "Not a single drop of irrigation water that rightfully belongs to Telangana will be given up. The state's interests are more important than politics. The previous BRS govt was responsible for allowing the Andhra Pradesh to take the Banakacherla project," he said after laying the foundation stone for the construction of 10,000-metric-tonne-capacity warehouses at Kamalapuram village in the Mudigonda mandal of the Khammam district. The warehouses are being built by the Telangana State Warehousing Corporation at a cost of ₹10 crore. He added: "It is because of chief minister A Revanth Reddy and irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy's effective presentation of arguments to the Union Jal Shakti Ministry in New Delhi that the Banakacherla project was halted." KTR questions HYDRAA's ‘selective' demolitions
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday questioned why HYDRAA officials, who claim to promote water conservation in Hyderabad, have failed to issue notices to Congress leaders who have built houses on lake beds. He accused HYDRAA of turning a blind eye to properties belonging to chief minister A Revanth Reddy and minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, alleging that all of them were constructed on lake beds. Speaking at a preparatory meeting for the Jubilee Hills bypoll, the senior BRS leader expressed frustration that HYDRAA appears to target only the homes of the poor. "Over the past decade, the BRS worked to eliminate regional and religious tensions in the area. Yet, within just a year and a half of Congress coming to power, these tensions resurfaced," he claimed. He predicted that the BRS would win the Jubilee Hills seat and asserted that Congress would not secure a single seat in Hyderabad this time.
