Actor Shah Rukh Khan spoke in a session titled The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler with Deepika Padukone at the first World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai on Thursday. While talking about the misconceptions of being 'lonely on top', he revealed that he was a 'joke' in his home. Here's why. Shah Rukh spoke about the misconceptions that it's 'lonely on top', claiming he feels exactly the opposite because of his children, Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan, and AbRam Khan. He said, 'You know you're asked if it's lonely at the top. I would just like to tell everyone here, those who are young and have kids, even those who are my age and have kids. You will never be lonely if you can make your children laugh, and those who don't have children, if you can make your parents laugh, will never be lonely.'
He then revealed that no one at home takes him seriously at home when he tries to discipline them because he's funny. He said, 'Main itna funny hoon mere bacchon ke liye (My kids think I'm so funny), that even when I scold or try to discipline them…I also scolded Deepika while shooting Om Shanti Om. When I say something, like listen, you have to sleep by 10 o'clock or something. What do they do? Oh my god, S R K. So, I am a joke in my house.' Deepika couldn't help but laugh at him pointing out how young she was in her debut film directed by Farah Khan.
The four-day summit, held at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC) in Mumbai, was launched by PM Narendra Modi on Thursday. Numerous stars from across the country, including Shah Rukh, Deepika, Karan Johar, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Hema Malini, Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, and others, are attending the summit. Shah Rukh and Deepika's session was moderated by Karan Johar.

‘Shah Rukh Khan was very rude on my first day, it hurt my ego,' recalls Dipshikkha Nagppal: ‘I was in love with him, took it as a challenge'

Shah Rukh Khan was the biggest movie star in India after Aditya Chopra's 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and an entire generation of women described themselves as his fans. So much so that they often believed that they were in love with him because of his on screen image, and same was the case with actor Dipshikkha Nagppal. In a recent interview, Dipshikkha shared that she was in love with his image as Raj from DDLJ so when she worked with him for the first time in Rakesh Roshan's Koyla, she found him to be a bit rude. His comment about her acting capabilities left her hurt and she saw it as a challenge to prove that she was actually good at her job. In a chat with Instant Bollywood, Dipshikkha shared that when she was cast in Koyla, she was 'in love with Shah Rukh Khan.' She recalled that the first time she met him on the set of the film, she was nervous. 'My first scene was that I am dying in his arms. So I was nervous wondering how it will happen,' she recalled and added that when he arrived on set, Rakesh praised her in front of the star. 'When Shah Rukh came, he was smoking. So Rakesh ji came in and said, 'Do you know Dipshikkha?' He said, 'She is a fantastic actress.' Rakesh ji was very impressed with me. Shah Rukh said, 'Yeah, let's see.' It hurt my ego. He was so rude. I was like, 'This is Shah Rukh. I love him.' Then I took it as a challenge,' she shared. Dipshikkha said that she proceeded to do the scene, which was ultimately edited out of the film and shared, 'I remember the scene. I can still smell his aura.' Dipshikkha shared that she worked with Shah Rukh Khan in other films as well but she always maintained a distance, even though they became friendly on set. 'Later, we became friends but I would only pay attention to my work. I would work with dedication and maybe, he noticed that but he recommended me for Baadshah.
