Bihar leaders laud Indian Army's 'Operation Sindoor' against terrorists in Pakistan, PoK

Hans India07-05-2025

Patna: Political leaders across the spectrum in Bihar on Wednesday praised the Indian Army following the successful execution of 'Operation Sindoor', which targeted terror camps at nine places in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh said, "Salute to the valour of the Indian Army. We are all proud of you."
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha lauded the strike as a "fitting" response to terrorism.
"When the Pahalgam attack happened, it was decided that the terrorists from Pakistan would not be spared. Today, under Operation Sindoor, India has delivered a strong blow to the nine hideouts of terrorists. This is the true meaning of a 56-inch chest. Jai Bharat! Jai Hind!" Deputy CM Sinha declared.
State BJP president Dilip Jaiswal said, "We will take revenge for every destroyed vermilion! Now words will not speak, but valour will speak. 56" chest! Bharat Mata ki Jai."
Sanjay Kumar Jha, JD-U's working president and Rajya Sabha MP, echoed the sentiment.
"India destroyed nine terror camps in Pakistan! Salute to the valour of the Indian Army. We are all proud of you," he posted on the social media platform X.
Jha also warned against misinformation being spread online.
"Pakistani media is circulating fake videos claiming attacks on the Indian Army. Shockingly, some Indian users are also promoting these nefarious attempts. I urge everyone to be cautious and verify facts before believing or sharing such content," he added.
The leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, emphasised that the nation is united against terrorism.
"India and its people have never tolerated terrorism and never will. The Indian Army protects the wombs of mothers and the vermilion on their foreheads. We are a peace-loving people, but we also know how to stand united and respond firmly when our sovereignty is attacked," Tejashwi said.
"In this battle, all 140 crore Indians stand with the Indian Army and the government," he added.

Israeli Military Apologises Over Wrong India Map After Huge Online Backlash

New Delhi: In a first, the Israel Defense Forces has apologised for posting an incorrect map of India's international boundaries - which wrongly showed Jammu and Kashmir as belonging to Pakistan - on X. The IDF admitted the map "fails to precisely depict borders" but claimed it was only an "illustration of the region". The IDF's post followed tweets by Indian users, many quite furious, pointing out the error and urging the Israeli military to retract the post. Some even tagged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Responding directly to one such tweet, by an X handle called Indian Right Wing Community", the Israel Defense Forces said, "This post is an illustration of the region. This map fails to precisely depict borders. We apologise for any offense caused". This was around 90 minutes after the original post. The first complainant had said: "Now you understand why India remains neutral. In diplomacy, no one's really your friend". This post is an illustration of the region. This map fails to precisely depict borders. We apologize for any offense caused by this image. — Israel Defense Forces (@IDF) June 13, 2025 The Indian government has not yet responded to the IDF's wrong map. India has made it clear that J&K and Ladakh, parts of which have been illegally occupied by Pakistan and China for decades, is and always will be an integral part of the country. That sentiment was repeated again by Prime Minister Modi in May, after the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. Over past several years India and Israel have developed a friendly relationship; in fact, in 2017 Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first Indian leader to visit that country. Delhi is also one of Tel Aviv's biggest trading partners, behind only the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and China, and those trading figures are only set to increase. And India is one of Israel's largest client for military equipment sales. The false map of India's borders, therefore, came as quite a surprise . The map that kicked up this storm was posted on X late Friday evening, as part of a tweet underlining Tel Aviv's perception of Iran as a "global threat". This follows rapidly increasing tensions between the two and raises a new threat of all-out war in the West Asia region; this after the escalation following Israel's response to Hamas' October 7 attacks. "Iran is a global threat. Israel is not the end goal, it's only the beginning. We had no other choice but to act," the Israeli military declared ominously, attaching a map showing West Asia, northern Africa, Europe, and most of Asia, including India with incorrectly drawn borders. This post is an illustration of the region. This map fails to precisely depict borders. We apologize for any offense caused by this image. — Israel Defense Forces (@IDF) June 13, 2025 The map had concentric circles of red emanating from Iran, indicating the range of missiles Tehran has and shading over immediate neighbours like Saudi Arabia and then Libya and Ethiopia in Africa, India and China in Asia, and Romania, and Bulgaria in Europe, as well as Russia, Kazakhstan, and Turkey. The map also drew sharp responses from Indian X users, including one person who tagged Mr Netanyahu and demanded Israel "delete it, correct it, repost it". Another person criticised Israel for having slighted the contribution of Indian soldiers fighting, and dying, to maintain territorial integrity. @IDF please next time upload correct map thank you we are with you 💪🏻🇮🇳 — Gulshan Singh🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 (@gulshan8434) June 13, 2025 Other users pointed to longstanding friendly ties with Tel Aviv. Better u remove that.. India and Israel is a good friend always so plz avoid such things.. And delete it 🙏 — 🇮🇳 Indrani 🇮🇳 (@Anti_Congressi) June 13, 2025 The latest round of Israel-Iran tensions come after the former launched its biggest offensive to stop the latter from making nuclear weapons. Iran responded, according to the Israelis by firing dozens of missiles. Some were intercepted, they said, with help from the United States. The two nations leaders', Mr Netanyahu and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have traded warnings and threats in equal measures, with the latter accusing the former of starting a war. Mr Netanyahu declared to the Iranians that "more is on the way" after the missile strikes by his military.

A New Odisha is taking shape: Mohan Charan Majhi

As the BJP govt completes one year in office, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi talks about his accomplishments and challenges along with the roadmap for Odisha's growth and development in the coming years, in an interview with Siba Mohanty & SN Agragami. Your government has completed one year in office with a slogan, 'Barsa Ek, Uplapdhi Anek'. What is the biggest upalabdhi (achievement) of your government in the last 12 months ? June 12 was a historic day in the political history of Odisha. People changed the government of 24 years and gave us a mandate to take Odisha in the path of development in all fields. Out of the 21 promises made by us, our government has fulfilled 11 promises, which is more than half. The results are for all to see. Let me give you one example. In Subhadra Yojana, we had promised to give a voucher of Rs 50,000 to women and have already provided Rs 10,000 to nearly 1 crore women in two half-yearly installments. This is not a cash dole to create vote-bank. Our aim is women empowerment. We have got ground reports, and you will be pleasantly surprised that 90 per cent of beneficiaries have utilised the money in a gainful manner. On the path of fulfilling the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have increased the number of Lakhpati Didis from just three lakh to 16.6 lakh in one year and achieved the first position in the country. The prime minister himself has praised the achievement of Odisha in the NITI Aayog meeting. Our second priority was the farmer. Within one hour of taking oath, in the first cabinet meeting we approved input assistance of Rs 800 per quintal over and above the MSP, which has already reached 17 lakh farmers. For the youth, we have provided 28,000 jobs. Nearly 30,000 youths have also got jobs in private sector. The previous government had organised three Make-in-Odisha conclaves. But in only one Utkarsh Odisha conclave organised by our government on January 28 and 29, we generated more proposals and signed more MoUs than all the previous three combined. We received proposals of Rs 17 lakh crore, signed MoUs of Rs 13 lakh crore with employment opportunities for 13 lakh youths of the state. The government has gained the confidence of people by doing all this work. We are committed to take Odisha to greater heights economically, socially and politically. We have fulfilled many promises during the year, which is why the slogan 'Barsha Ek, Upalabdhi Anek'. A New Odisha is taking shape.

Ludhiana: For development, public welfare, BJP right choice, says Jiwan Gupta

As the Ludhiana West constituency gears up for the crucial byelection, BJP candidate Jiwan Gupta is banking on the development agenda of the central government. He believes that Punjab, which has suffered 'setbacks' in governance and development, urgently needs a double-engine government — with BJP in both the Centre and the state — to bring the economy, infrastructure and industry back on track. Gupta shares his views on the bypoll, his campaign focus and why he believes BJP is the right choice for Punjab's future. How do you view the importance of the Ludhiana West byelection? The byelection may not change the ruling party, but it is important politically. It will send a strong message against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has failed to deliver on its promises in the last three and a half years. This bypoll will lay the foundation for the BJP's rise in Punjab and our plans for the 2027 assembly elections. What is the core agenda of the BJP in this election? Our focus is development. Punjab has been left behind while BJP-ruled states have progressed. The BJP stands for infrastructural growth, digital advancement and public welfare. The double-engine government has proven successful in other states and Punjab needs that same model to move forward. AAP leaders say no development will come if voters choose another candidate That's baseless and indirect threat to the voters. Development is not a favour. It is a right. AAP has had its chance and failed to deliver. The public has seen the difference between promises and actual work. People are ready for a change and they trust BJP to bring that change. What are your top priorities, if elected? If elected, I will be a strong voice of the Ludhiana people. My top priorities are to bring central development schemes to the city, push for an AIIMS hospital in Ludhiana and support industrial revival. Ludhiana is Punjab's industrial hub, and I will work with the central government to stop the ongoing industrial decline. You are facing strong rivals, including a former cabinet minister and a sitting Rajya Sabha member. Are you confident? Absolutely. I have been active in politics for over 30 years and have led many successful campaigns. The BJP has a strong presence in urban areas, like Ludhiana West. In the recent parliamentary elections, BJP's Ravneet Singh Bittu received the highest number of votes from this constituency. People see BJP as the only party capable of delivering development and maintaining law and order. What role does national leadership, particularly PM Modi, play in your campaign? Prime Minister Modi is a major source of inspiration. People trust his vision and leadership. His government's work in healthcare, infrastructure, digital India and public welfare speaks for itself. Punjab deserves to benefit from the same model of growth, and that's why voters in Ludhiana West will support the BJP.
