Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale Trailer Offers First Glimpse at Maggie Smith Tribute — Watch
Focus Features on Monday released the first trailer for Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, which hits theaters Friday, Sept. 12. The footage sees Lady Mary Talbot (Michelle Dockery) stop and pause to look at a portrait of the late Dowager Countess Violet Crawley, who died in 2022's Downton Abbey: A New Era (prior to Smith's death in 2024).

Downton Abbey 3 'follows the Crawley family and their staff as they enter the 1930s,' per the official synopsis. 'As the beloved cast of characters navigates how to lead Downton Abbey into the future, they must embrace change and welcome a new chapter.'
In addition to Dockery, returning cast members include Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera and Douglas Reith.
Additionally, Dominic West (The Affair) is back as Guy Dexter, a character introduced in A New Era, while Paul Giamatti (Billions) reprises his role of Harold Levinson (aka Cora Grantham's brother).
New for the third film are Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck), Alessandro Nivola (Doll & Em, The Many Saints of Newark), Simon Russell Beale (Penny Dreadful) and Arty Froushan (Carnival Row).

Jenna Ortega's Gothic-Glam Givenchy References an "Integral Part" of Her 'Wednesday' Season 2 Style Journey

But nothing awakens the 22-year-old's inner goth quite like Netflix's Wednesday. Season 2 of the Addams Family spinoff drops on August 6, meaning Ortega is back in method dressing mode. On the first day of Ortega's Wednesday press tour, Ortega channeled her character's all-black attire in fresh-off-the-runway Givenchy Fall 2025. She and stylist Enrique Melendez sourced Look 32 from Sarah Burton debut collection as Givenchy's creative director before anyone else. "Every other week since it showed in March, I asked team Givenchy if it had been worn in a non-editorial placement," Melendez told me over email. "Luckily, by the time our fitting for the Wednesday Season 2 press tour came along, it hadn't been worn." Complete with a leather balconette bra and matching gloves which stretched beyond her shoulders, "the look played an integral part in styling this tour," Melendez says. As seen on the catwalk, each puff sleeve was ultra-padded, giving them a balloon-like blow out. For extra shine, she layered chain link cuffs on her wrists, also from Burton's Givenchy. Just like the model, Ortega juxtaposed the voluminous bodice with a super-sleek pencil skirt, hemmed with raw wool edges. The midi stopped above her calves to reveal her sky-high platform pumps from Jimmy Choo. During the Fall 2025 show, the model kept the grunge theme going with patent leather ankle boots. By choosing Jimmy Choos, Ortega gave the avant-garde set a classic finish. On the Wednesday Season 1 press tour, Melendez dressed Ortega in one noir number after another, "but you can only do so much [black] with out being too predictable and monotonous," the stylist says. To maintain the shock factor this time around, he "played around with sub-categories, such as shape and fabrication of a look," as evidenced by this Givenchy get-up. In the five short months since Givenchy Fall 2025 premiered, everyone from Kaia Gerber and Anne Hathaway to Tracee Ellis Ross and Elle Fanning has gotten their hands on the unreleased designs. Hathaway, for one, secured nine Burton looks for her Vogue August 2025 feature. On the cover, The Devil Wears Prada 2 star turned heads in Look 41, a white, high-neck number covered in florals from head to toe. Most recently, on July 25, Fanning attended Comic Con in a cutout-heavy suit set from Givenchy Spring 2026, which will debut during Paris Fashion Week in October. Even her lime green pumps are from the upcoming collection. A round of applause for Fanning, and her stylist, Samantha McMillen. Just two years into Burton's takeover, Givenchy's new group of It girls is already star-studded, with Ortega leading the charge. Though Season 2 of Wednesday dropped on Netflix last week, the show's press tour is still going strong. Most recently, the star-studded cast jetted to Australia in kooky, Addams Family-core attire. Without breaking her method dressing streak, Ortega went straight from the airport to Bondi Beach—in the same anti-summer set, no less. If you thought she'd swim in an all-black bikini—perhaps to channel her gothic character—think again. Ortega didn't style swimwear at all: just a leather trench coat tied over a satin slip dress. The 22-year-old also dipped her feet in the ocean with knee-high Dior D-Major Boots in tow. Don't worry, she went barefoot as to not damage the $2,150 Cruise 2025 shoes. Once again, the waist strap was tied to cover a black graphic tee underneath. By pairing it with the same moto boots, Ortega's jacket felt extra autumnal. Her studded carry-on tote nearly blended into its patent leather exterior. Oval-shaped sunglasses finished Ortega's airport 'fit in true Wednesday form. Servants' bells and car from Downton Abbey among props and costumes at auction
Dozens of costumes, props and even a car used in period drama Downton Abbey are to be sold at auction for charity. Fans will be able to purchase a dress worn by the late Dame Maggie Smith, who starred in the ITV programme's six series and two of its films as Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham. Other lots include the wedding dress Michelle Dockery wore as Lady Mary Crawley when she married Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens), the distinctive bell wall from the servants' hall, and the Grantham family car, a 1925 Sunbeam Saloon. The car, which auction house Bonhams say is one of about 45 of the vehicles which survive, has an estimated sale price of £25,000 to £35,000. A script from series one, episode one, signed by cast members including Dame Maggie, Hugh Bonneville and Samantha Bond, is listed for an estimated £600 to £800. The set pieces, props and costumes will be on display at a free exhibition at Bonhams sale room in New Bond Street, central London, frin Monday until September 16. Proceeds from the auction will go to Together for Short Lives, a charity supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families. 'The world of Downton Abbey is beloved around the globe for its rich, timeless storytelling,' Gareth Neame, the show's executive producer said. 'These iconic set items hold a special place in that history, and we are proud to see them help support the vital work of Together for Short Lives.'
