NEW DELHI: Former cricketers took to social media to applaud Team India's remarkable resilience and fighting spirit after the side pulled off a dramatic draw against England in the fourth Test at Old Trafford.

Turning it Pope's way: Aussie leggie keen on continuing good run

Though he played a pivotal part in leading his team to the final, Pope sat out in the final, considering the pitch conditions at the Karen Rolton Oval then. "The wicket didn't really spin a lot. Credit to our squad, we had got some very good fast bowlers. They decided to go with the fast bowlers on that day. All I wanted was that to be the right decision and we won the game," he said. He further explained his season where South Australia won both the Shield and the One-Day Cup. "At the start of the year we said the squad's going to win the Sheffield Shield, not just the 11 players. Just to be even named in that squad, that's a huge achievement for me personally. (With regards to what he did) I tried to improve my stock ball trying to make my leg-break an effective ball to get wickets. That probably was not the easiest thing. It took quite a while for me to get to a stage where I feel like on Australian wickets that I am spinning the ball away from the bat and getting a bit of shape in the air and bounce off the wicket. That's quite a small adjustment but quite a hard one to make. I spent a lot of time doing that," he said. Listening to India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja talk on spin bowling, Pope then switched his aim before his delivery. "If I could take one thing away from what he says, it is just hitting the stumps as many times as possible. He is one of the best in the world. I think that's probably been one of the things that I've been focussing on in all formats of cricket for the last 12 months," he added.

Micah Parsons trade talk makes Aaron Donald hint at coming out of retirement

Micah Parsons trade talk makes Aaron Donald hint at coming out of retirement (Image via Getty) Los Angeles Rams legend Aaron Donald has hinted he might return to the NFL but only if the Rams land Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons. On Sunday, August 3, 2025, Donald responded to a post on Instagram saying, 'That D-line would be unreal,' after a fan asked how he'd feel if the Rams traded for Parsons. The former defensive tackle also added he'd 'have to get back in shape.' This surprise message came right after Micah Parsons publicly said he wanted to leave Dallas. Micah Parsons, a four-time Pro Bowl player, is in a tense contract dispute with the Cowboys. Just days ago, he shocked fans and teams alike by saying he 'no longer wants to be here.' That was on August 1, 2025, in a statement shared with multiple sports outlets. Now, talks of a possible trade are heating up and Aaron Donald's sudden comment has only made things more interesting. Aaron Donald says he'd return to NFL if Micah Parsons joins Rams Aaron Donald, who retired in March 2024 after 10 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, has kept a low profile until now. Known as one of the greatest defensive players of all time, Donald said earlier this year he was happy with retirement and didn't miss the game. But that changed quickly this week when a fan asked about Micah Parsons. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Exclusive Men's and Women's Watches - Buy Now Luxury Watches Buy Now Undo Aaron Donald commented on Instagram that he'd consider coming back if the Rams traded for Parsons. His exact words were, 'That Dline would be unreal. I'd have to get back in football shape.' Micah Parsons replied right away, tagging his agent David Mulugheta and writing, 'Man!!! Don't tell me info like that.' The Rams' defense is already full of young talent. In 2024, rookies Jared Verse, Byron Young, Braden Fiske, and Kobie Turner made big plays. They totaled 226 quarterback pressures, the second most by any group in the NFL. Jared Verse, especially, had a standout rookie year with 66 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Micah Parsons wants out of Dallas amid contract fight Micah Parsons, who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, is considered one of the best defensive players in the NFL. But on August 1, 2025, he told reporters that he no longer wants to play in Dallas. He's been asking for a new contract, and things are not going well with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
