Walmart knew about explosion risk in water bottles for 7 years before recall
The retailer said last month the public should immediately stop using its Ozark Trail 64-ounce stainless-steel water bottles because the plastic lid 'can forcefully eject,' which led to three injuries, including to two people who said they were partially blinded by flying bottle caps. Walmart said it voluntarily decided to stop selling the product and was offering $15 refunds to remove the 850,000 bottles already on the market, according to a July 10 notice posted on the Consumer Product Safety Commission's website.

Missing child alert issued for 14-year-old boy last seen in Hialeah Gardens
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has issued a missing child alert for 14-year-old Yunior Pozo, who was last seen Tuesday in Hialeah Gardens. According to FDLE, Pozo was last spotted in the 10500 block of Northwest 77th Court wearing a white shirt with a black Nike check, blue shorts, black socks and white shoes. Officials described Pozo has black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. NFL appeals Nevada Supreme Court ruling allowing Jon Gruden's lawsuit to proceed
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The NFL will appeal the Nevada Supreme Court's ruling Monday that former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden can proceed with his lawsuit and not go through the league for arbitration. The league will request a rehearing from the same court that overturned a prior Nevada Supreme Court panel ruling in May 2024 that the matter could go to arbitration. But in October, Gruden was granted a hearing by the full court. Gruden filed a lawsuit in 2021 against the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell, alleging that a 'malicious and orchestrated campaign' to destroy his career by leaking old emails he sent that included racist, misogynistic and homophobic comments that pressured the Raiders to fire him. Gruden resigned from the Raiders in October 2021 and sued the league a month later. In 2022, the NFL appealed to Nevada's high court after a judge in Las Vegas rejected league bids to dismiss Gruden's claim outright or to order out-of-court talks through an arbitration process that could be overseen by Goodell. The Nevada Supreme Court, in a 5-2 ruling, said that 'the arbitration clause in the NFL Constitution is unconscionable and does not apply to Gruden as a former employee.' Gruden was an on-air analyst at ESPN from 2011-18 when the emails were sent. He was the Raiders' coach when the team moved in 2020 to Las Vegas from Oakland, California. He's seeking monetary damages, saying that selective disclosure of the emails and their publication by the Wall Street Journal and New York Times ruined his career and endorsement contracts. Gruden coached the Raiders in Oakland from 1998 to 2001, then led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for seven years, winning a Super Bowl title in 2003. He spent several years as a TV analyst for ESPN before being hired by the Raiders again in 2018. He later consulted for the New Orleans Saints in 2023. 1 dead following overnight double shooting in San Francisco's Bayview
One person has died after two people were shot in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood late Monday night, police said. Around 10:35 p.m., officers were called to the 200 block of Harbor Road following reports of a shooting. As police headed to the scene, officers were told that a vehicle connected to the incident was stopped on the 2200 block of Cesar Chavez Street, more than a mile-and-a-half away. In the vehicle, police found two people suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers and paramedics rendered aid to the victims, who were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police said one of the victims succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The victim's name has not been released. Officers said Tuesday that no arrests have been made. Additional details about the shooting are not immediately available.
