These included Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, US Presidential Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.
During the discussions, Abdelatty stressed the importance of pursuing peaceful solutions and resuming negotiations concerning the Iranian nuclear issue.
He reaffirmed Egypt's steadfast position that military options are not viable, neither for this matter nor for other crises undermining regional stability.
The talks also included an exchange of views on mechanisms to de-escalate tensions and establish a comprehensive ceasefire between Iran and Israel.
They stressed the need to prevent the resumption of hostilities and reinforce a political, peaceful solution to the conflict.
The talks with US Envoy Steve Witkoff addressed the ongoing intensive efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensure its sustainability.
The discussion focused on advancing the process of releasing a number of hostages and detainees in exchange for halting military operations, and guaranteeing the unimpeded and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid, in light of the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Strip.
Abdelatty also reaffirmed Egypt's categorical rejection of any proposals involving the establishment of temporary encampments in southern Gaza or initiatives that could result in demographic changes in the occupied Palestinian territories.
He presented Egypt's proposal to host an international conference focused on early recovery and post-conflict reconstruction, to be convened following the establishment of a ceasefire.
This initiative is in line with the Arab-Islamic plan aimed at speeding up Gaza's recovery and rebuilding.
For his part, US Envoy Steve Witkoff commended Egypt's efforts, under the leadership of Presiden Sisi, to advance regional peace and stability.
He underscored Egypt's role as a vital strategic partner of the United States in these efforts. (MENA)

Taarek Refaat The Palestinian movement Hamas declared on Friday its full support for the Palestinian delegation participating in indirect ceasefire negotiations with Israel, while simultaneously affirming its readiness for a long-term war of attrition if talks fail. In a statement issued by its military spokesperson Abu Ubaida, Hamas said it is 'closely monitoring' the ongoing negotiations and hopes the current round will lead to a comprehensive agreement that ends the war, secures the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and ensures the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. However, Abu Ubaida warned that if Israel continues to stall or rejects the terms — as Hamas alleges it has done in past rounds — then the movement will not return to partial deals, including the so-called '10 prisoner proposal', which has been a point of contention in previous talks. According to Hamas, more than four months into the resumption of the war, it has inflicted heavy losses on Israeli forces, claiming hundreds of soldiers have been killed or injured. The group also disclosed that it has made multiple attempts in recent weeks to capture Israeli soldiers in Gaza. 'If the occupation government insists on continuing this war of extermination, it should prepare for more funerals of its soldiers and officers,' Abu Ubaida stated. Hamas accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of rejecting a Hamas offer for a comprehensive prisoner exchange deal that would see all captives released in a single phase, suggesting that the Israeli government is uninterested in recovering its soldiers held by Hamas. The second phase of the truce, meant to stabilize the ceasefire and secure further prisoner releases, remains on hold, with negotiations continuing but no permanent ceasefire yet secured. Three Killed in Explosion at LA County Sheriff's Training Facility
Rana Atef On Friday, at least three deputies were killed and another one was injured in an explosion at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Biscailuz Training Center, according to law enforcement sources. The explosion took place around 7:30 am at the center on Eastern Avenue, which is home to the sheriff's special enforcement bureau, including the bomb squad. The injured individual was taken to a hospital after the explosion, authorities said. Preliminary information claimed that deputies were moving a recently recovered from a bomb call out when the blast occurred, according to two law enforcement sources. After the explosion, LAPD's bomb squad responded to the scene. The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also responded to assist with the investigation. Employees told The Times they heard a massive blast shortly before 7:30 am coming from the parking lot where the sheriff's bomb squad keeps its vehicles. They heard glass shattering and screaming. In the radio communications reviewed by The Times, a sheriff dispatcher tells units that there was an "explosion with three down." OPEN// FM intensifies diplomatic efforts to de-escalate regional tensions
CAIRO, July 18 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty continued his intensive diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating regional tensions. As part of these efforts, Abdelatty held separate consultations with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Tamim Khallaf said on Friday that the discussions focused on advancing efforts to secure a durable ceasefire between Iran and Israel, avert a resurgence of hostilities, and strengthen political and diplomatic channels for conflict settlement. The talks also examined prospects for reviving negotiations between Iran, the IAEA, and the E3 group, with a view to reinvigorating diplomatic engagement and addressing persisting concerns over Iran's nuclear program, the spokesman said. This comes as the anticipated date to activate the UN sanctions mechanism draws near, expected within the next few weeks, according to announcements from the E3 countries, the spokesman added. During his call with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Abdelatty discussed prospects for enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and tourism, he added. In a separate conversation with the IAEA Director General, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Egypt and the agency in the peaceful applications of nuclear energy. (MENA) R R N/
