Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 11 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson ANS Prasad issued a statement on Wednesday on the 11 Years of the Modi government. Titled as: 'PM Modi's Golden Tenure: A Vision for a Strong India - Success Story for Congress and Rahul Gandhi to Learn from 11 Years of BJP Achievements.'
He credited Modi Government with transforming India through its visionary policies and schemes. According to a statement, the government's achievements over the past 11 years have been remarkable, with a focus on inclusive growth, sustainable development, and good governance.
The statement said, 'As India celebrates 75 years of independence, it's crucial for Congress party members and Rahul Gandhi to understand and learn from the remarkable achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 11-year tenure. After 55 years of Congress rule marred by corruption and scandals, PM Modi has restored India's pride and dignity. Building on the foundation laid by former PM Vajpayee and drawing inspiration from Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya's philosophy of integral humanism, the Thirukkural's ethics, and the principles of justice, transparency, and morality, PM Modi's golden tenure has become a guiding light for the world.'
Prasad said that despite Congress's continuous treachery and malicious propaganda, PM Modi has created a strong and united India, thwarting Rahul Gandhi's attempts to divide the nation through caste and communal politics.
'The Modi government has been a game-changer for India, implementing policies and schemes that have transformed the lives of millions. With a focus on inclusive growth, sustainable development, and good governance, the government has made significant strides in various sectors,' he said..
According to the statement, the Modi government has introduced several schemes aimed at uplifting the poor and vulnerable sections of society, such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, a financial inclusion program that has brought millions of people into the formal banking system. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a housing scheme that aims to provide affordable housing to the poor, and the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, a skill development program that has trained millions of youth in various trades, are other notable initiatives.
The government has passed several historic bills that have far-reaching implications for the country. The Goods and Services Tax (GST), a landmark tax reform that has simplified the tax structure and boosted economic growth, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, a crucial law that has helped to resolve issues related to non-performing assets, and the Citizenship Amendment Act, a law that provides a pathway to citizenship for persecuted minorities from neighboring countries, are some notable examples.
Initiatives like Make in India and Startup India have promoted entrepreneurship and innovation, while modernisation efforts in railways have improved connectivity and efficiency. Schemes like Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana have helped to protect farmers' interests, and initiatives like Atal Innovation Mission and National Education Policy have promoted innovation and quality education, the statement says.
The Modi government has set an ambitious vision for India to become a developed nation by 2047. Key initiatives include the One Nation, One Election proposal aimed at streamlining the electoral process, and the Census, a crucial exercise that will provide valuable insights into the country's demographics. The government's policies are guided by the philosophy of integral humanism, which emphasises the importance of holistic development.
This approach has helped to promote economic growth, social welfare, and cultural preservation. Through initiatives like Make in India and Startup India, the government has promoted entrepreneurship and innovation, while schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have promoted social welfare. Initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Namami Gange Programme have helped to preserve India's cultural heritage.
The statement added that the Modi government's policies have been designed to promote the welfare of all sections of society, with a special focus on the poor and vulnerable. The government's commitment to good governance has helped to improve transparency and accountability in administration. The use of technology has helped to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
The spokesperson further said, 'The government's efforts have also helped to promote a sense of national pride and unity. India's strength and resilience are exemplified by its mighty armed forces, who stand guard at the nation's borders, ever vigilant and ready to defend the country's sovereignty. The Indian military's prowess was on full display during the landmark Operation Sindhoor, a triumphant surgical strike that showcased the nation's unwavering resolve against cross-border terrorism.'
The brave men and women of the Indian Armed Forces have consistently demonstrated their valor and professionalism, earning the nation's eternal gratitude. Under the steadfast leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has taken a firm stance against terrorism, delivering justice to the victims and their families. Since 2014, the government has authorised surgical strikes against terrorist camps, further solidifying India's reputation as a formidable force against terrorism, he said.
The nation's pride in its armed forces and its government's commitment to national security is unshakeable, reflecting the country's unrelenting spirit and determination to safeguard its unity, integrity, and prosperity.
'As India moves forward, the Modi government's vision for a Viksit Bharat will continue to guide its policies and programs, ensuring a developed India that is free from poverty and inequality,' said Prasad.
With a focus on inclusive growth, sustainable development, and good governance, the government is confident of achieving its goals and making India a developed nation by 2047.
The Modi government's achievements are a testament to its commitment to transforming India through visionary policies and schemes, inspiring a new generation of leaders and thinkers who will guide not just India but the world, the statement concluded. (ANI)

Kangana Ranaut on 11 years of Modi government: Keeping the promise

Narendra Modi, infrastructure development, national highways, rail connectivity, Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link, Chenab Bridge, Anji Khad Bridge, urban transport, electric buses, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Saubhagya Scheme, Ayushman Bharat, Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India, UPI, Subhadra Yojana, environmental sustainability, National Education Policy 2020, PM SHRI schools, PM-Kisan, Polavaram project, defense modernization, G20, foreign policy, economic reforms, GST, corporate tax, Startup India, Stand-Up India, Atal Innovation Mission, Chandigarh-Manali highway tunnels, Chenab Rail Bridge, Vande Bharat trains, self-reliant India, inclusive growth, global leadership A political, economic, and social transformation has been underway in the past 11 years. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India has emerged as a self-reliant, inclusive, and globally respected nation. The foundation of this transformation rests on infrastructure. Connectivity was a major concern when PM Modi assumed office in 2014. Today more than 146,000 km of national highways — as against 91,000 km in 2014 — bridge the gap between rural and urban, between aspiration and opportunity. The highways have been supplemented by a revolution in rail connectivity, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. The commissioning of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link and engineering marvels like the Chenab Bridge and the Anji Khad Bridge mark the victory of human will over terrain. Urban transport has also undergone a green transformation with the introduction of electric buses, including in the national capital. The provision of housing has become a national mission. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is about providing dignity to the poorest — a rural family assigned a pucca house with electricity and toilets signals an end to generational poverty. The Saubhagya Scheme to provide electricity to nearly 3 crore unelectrified households has to be counted as a big public welfare success story. Electricity means security, education and economic activity for homes in rural India. Health sector reform, especially the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, has followed the path of inclusivity. Illness is no longer equated with bankruptcies. The Jan Dhan scheme has led to financial inclusion. Subsidies, scholarships, pensions, and relief funds are routed through such accounts, obviating the need for a middleman. The Digital India campaign is another success. UPI is today used by people across economic strata. Digital India is also about access and transparency — the two pillars of good governance. This revolution would not be complete without the recognition that Indian women should be at the forefront of this agenda. Subhadra Yojana is one such expression of this gender-sensitive policy approach. Environmental issues have received importance. Syncing development with ecology has been part of the Modi government's credo. The National Education Policy, 2020, has addressed the future — AI, innovation, interdisciplinary research — while remaining rooted in India's heritage. Government school upgradation under the PM SHRI scheme made sure that the policy was translated into action. Agriculture has undergone structural change. PM-Kisan provides income support to 11 crore farmers every year. Projects such as the Polavaram irrigation scheme tried to solve the problems of water availability. On defence, the government's message has been unequivocal — India will not ignore the strategic requirements at its frontiers. On the global stage, India found a more confident voice. From G20 summits to diplomatic dialogues, India emerged not just as a participant, but a shaper of global narratives. Our foreign policy reflects pride in our civilisational identity while adapting to 21st-century realities. The economy has remained resilient in the face of global uncertainties. Reforms ranging from GST to cutting corporate tax made India an investment hub. The country is among the world's fastest-growing economies. Job creation was facilitated by the sheer volume of infrastructure development. The welfare model has empowered people. From ending redundant laws to creating simplified tax systems, the effort has been to make government effective and citizen-friendly. The youth have been at the core of the government's initiatives. Startup India, Stand-Up India, and the Atal Innovation Mission empower a generation to be job creators. India has seen massive infrastructure transformation; two examples are the Chandigarh–Manali highway tunnels and the Chenab Rail Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, the road to Manali was riddled with traffic jams, landslides, and long travel hours. With the construction of more than 14 tunnels and multiple bypasses, the travel time has been cut by almost four hours. Equally remarkable is the Chenab Bridge. Connecting Katra to Srinagar through the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link, this bridge is a lifeline for the people of J&K. With the launch of Vande Bharat trains on this route, the region is now more connected than ever. Modi government's 11 years have not merely been about numbers and schemes; they have been about fulfilling a vision. India is more secure, integrated, and future-ready. Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri accuses AAP of isolating Punjab from national development

Union minister of petroleum and natural gas Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab of isolating the state from national development by failing to implement key central schemes. Puri, who was in Ludhiana to campaign for Bharatiya Janata Party's Ludhiana West bypoll candidate Jiwan Gupta, cited Ayushman Bharat scheme as a 'glaring example of how people of Punjab were being denied basic benefits available in other states'. 'States that cooperate with the Centre's policies are witnessing robust development. Sadly, Punjab is not among them,' he said. Puri also raised concerns on Punjab's law and order situation, and termed the Bhagwant Mann government's war on drugs as a 'hoax'. Speaking about India's economic journey under the Modi government, Puri said, 'In 2014, India was the 10th largest economy at 2 trillion dollars. Today, with a 4.3 trillion dollar economy, India has surpassed the UK and Japan to become the fourth largest economy in the world. We are poised to overtake Germany by next year and become the third largest economy by 2026.' Citing World Bank projections, he said that with a growth rate of 6.5%, India stands out among global economies, significantly ahead of nations like the UK, Germany, and Japan, each of which is growing at just around 2%. 'The world is watching India with great interest. But Punjab's isolation from this national growth trajectory is unfortunate,' Puri remarked. Cheema hits back Meanwhile, Punjab finance minister Harpal Cheema hit back, stating that the BJP government had plunged India into a debt spiral. He said that when the BJP assumed power in 2014, the nation's debt stood at approximately ₹55 lakh crore, which has since ballooned to ₹215 lakh crore. On Puri's allegations about Punjab not implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme, he said the central scheme is riddled with many problems that prevent many from receiving its benefits. On the contrary, Cheema said, AAP's Mohalla Clinics had provided treatment to millions of poor families without any restriction. He also questioned Puri about the BJP's 'unfulfilled promises' of depositing ₹15 lakh into the account of every Indian citizen and creating two crore jobs annually, among others.

Air India plane crash: Vijay Rupani latest Indian political bigwig to lose life in aviation tragedy

NEW DELHI: Former became the latest addition to a tragic list of Indian political leaders who lost their lives in air accidents, after Air India flight AI-171 crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on Thursday. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The London-bound Dreamliner was carrying 242 passengers, with Rupani among the confirmed fatalities. This tragedy renews scrutiny on aviation safety involving public figures in India - an issue marred by repeated disasters and close escapes. Among the most high-profile air crash victims are Sanjay Gandhi - the influential son of former PM Indira Gandhi - who died in 1980 while piloting a small aircraft in Delhi. His death left a political vacuum and changed the course of Congress politics. Years earlier, Mohan Kumaramangalam, Union steel and mines minister, was killed in the 1973 crash of Indian Airlines flight 440 near Delhi. His body was identified only by a Parker pen and his hearing aid. Former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy perished in a 2009 chopper crash. In 2001, senior Congress leader and the then MP from Guna, Madhya Pradesh, Madhavrao Scindia died in a chartered plane crash in Uttar Pradesh - an incident that followed an earlier air scare in his political career which he survived. He had held key portfolios in Congress govts such as civil aviation, human resource development, railways, and communications. In 2002, the then Lok Sabha speaker GMC Balayogi died in a chopper crash. Others include Dorjee Khandu (Arunachal Pradesh CM), OP Jindal (Haryana power minister), & Surendra Singh - son of ex-Haryana CM Bansi Lal - who died in 2005 in a crash near Saharanpur. Notably, another Gujarat chief minister, Balwantrai Mehta, died in an air tragedy during the 1965 India-Pakistan war. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now His plane was mistakenly shot down by Pakistani fighter aircraft near the border, having been misidentified as a reconnaissance plane. Yet, there have been remarkable survivals. In 1977, the then PM Morarji Desai escaped unhurt when his helicopter made an emergency landing in the Northeast. In 2001, Narendra Modi, then Gujarat CM, survived an emergency landing during earthquake relief operations in Bhuj. M Venkaiah Naidu, former vice president, has had multiple near misses. In 2003, during taxiing, an engine fire broke out on an Air Deccan flight from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, carrying both Naidu and then Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The fire was contained before takeoff and all passengers were evacuated safely. In 2005, Naidu's helicopter made an emergency landing in Bihar's Gaya due to a technical failure. Minutes later, Naxals attacked and destroyed the grounded aircraft with a petrol bomb. Both he and the pilot escaped unhurt. Rupani's death is likely to reignite urgent debate on the protocols and preparedness surrounding the air travel of India's top political leaders.
