Congress leader Anand Sharma resigns as chairman of AICC Foreign Affairs Department
Former union minister and Congress leader Anand Sharma has resigned from the post of the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Department of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), although he continues to be a member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC).

Anand Sharma was part of the delegation led by NCP-SCP leader Supriya Sule. The delegation also included Rajiv Pratap Rudy (BJP), Vikramjit Singh Sahney (AAP), Manish Tewari (Congress), Anurag Singh Thakur (BJP), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), V Muraleedharan (BJP), and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin.
Congress MP Manish Tewari conveyed his deep respect and admiration for Anand Sharma, highlighting his exceptional understanding of foreign affairs.
The Congress MP further noted that he and Anand Sharma were part of the same group of all-party delegation, where members of the group considerably benefited from Sharma's insights.
In a social media post on X, Tewari wrote, "Had the pleasure and honour of working with @AnandSharmaINC for over four decades.

It is noteworthy that Congress leaders Anand Sharma, Shashi Tharoor, and Manish Tewari, who were part of the Operation Sindoor Outreach delegations India sent to partner countries to highlight its stand against cross-border terrorism, were not among the Congress speakers during the debate after Operation Sindoor in Parliament.
According to the sources, Manish Tewari had sent a request to the party to speak during the debate, Tharoor apparently conveyed unwillingness as his stance during the visit abroad of the delegation would be at variance with the party's strong stance against the government on aspects related to the military operation to hit target infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK. Tharoor led one of the all-party delegations.

In the video, Janu is heard criticising senior BJP leaders over what he described as the "humiliating treatment" of Malik, who had served as the governor of several states and was once the party's national vice-president. Campaign ends for ZPTC bypolls in Kadapa district
Tirupati: Campaigning for the ZPTC by-elections in Pulivendula and Vontimitta in Kadapa district came to an end at 5 pm on Sunday. State ministers S Savitha, Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, BJP MP CM Ramesh, Kadapa MLA R Madhavi Reddy, Jammalamadugu BJP legislator C Adinarayana Reddy, and other prominent figures campaigned for TDP candidate M Latha Reddy in the final hours. They highlighted the welfare initiatives launched by the TDP-led NDA alliance in the past year and sought the support of voters in the bypolls. Meanwhile, Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy held a press conference, accusing the ruling party alliance of resorting to violence and misusing the police department to disrupt the peaceful election process. He expressed confidence that the people of Pulivendula would support the YS family and reject the TDP-led alliance's tactics. Bengaluru: Bengaluru must take the lead in building future-ready urban infrastructure to keep pace with the demands of the 21st century, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Sunday, inaugurating key mobility projects in the city. Bengaluru must be prepared for future," Modi said, highlighting that recent years have seen projects worth thousands of crores launched for Bengaluru. He urged the city to strengthen its role in Make in India and manufacturing. "Our next big priority should be becoming self-reliant in technology. India's products must adhere to the Zero Defect, Zero Effect standard," he said. Hailing India's rise as "the fastest-growing major economy in the world", he noted in 11 years, the country has moved from the tenth to the fifth-largest economy and is rapidly progressing toward becoming one of the top three economies. His remarks come days after US President Donald Trump's India is a "dead economy" jibe. Modi linked this growth to the 'Reform, Perform and Transform' approach, and cited rapid infrastructure expansion: Metro networks have grown from five cities in 2014 to over 1,000km in 24 cities today, making India the third-largest network globally. He noted expansion of railway electrification to over 40,000km in the same period, airports from 74 to 160, and national waterways from three to 30. Highlighting Bengaluru's role in India's transformation, Modi pointed to electronics exports rising from $6 billion in 2014 to $38 billion, with India now among the top five mobile handset exporters. Automobile exports have more than doubled, placing India fourth globally. On housing, he said more than 4 crore pucca houses have been provided under PMAY, with 3 crore more planned.
