Ben Ofoedu takes aim at ex Vanessa Feltz during wedding to parter 23 years his junior
Vanessa Feltz's ex fiancé Ben Ofoedu has finally tied the knot with his new bride Vanessa Brown, in a lavish ceremony surrounded by celeb pals and family.
The 52 year old Phats and Small singer married in an opulent castle in Carlisle to Vanessa, who is 23 years his junior. Despite appearing to move on from his failed romance with TV star Vanessa, 63, he couldn't help but take aim at her when speaking about his new love.
The music artist, who had been engaged to Vanessa Feltz for 16 years, revealed: "I know what true love is now."
Back in February 2023, the This Morning star took to social media to shared with fans that her 16 year relationship with Ben was over. At the time, the TV and radio presenter had hinted at Ben's infidelity but also mentioned in another interview a month earlier that her age gap became a subject of concern.
Meanwhile, Ben's main heartbreak was that he felt he had missed out on an opportunity to become a father. And so with his new bride being younger than his years, it looks as though Ben's dreams of being a husband and a father in the future could quite easily be a possibility.
The couple's wedding is believed to cost an estimated £100,000 and during his wedding speech, he told guests, according to The Sun: "I knew the first time I met Vanessa, I'm going to fall in love with this girl."
He added: "It sounds crazy, but I told her that, I knew I was giving her attention, but I had intentions with this girl. So on the second date I told her I wanted to marry her and have children because I thought that by saying it, it separates the wheat from the chaff."
But his emotional speech was interrupted by his close pal and Another Level singer Dane Bowers, who shouted out: "That, and you're really old." Dane's outburst made everyone in the wedding reception burst out laughing.
After meeting his new bride following the end of his relationship with Vanessa, Ben now firmly believes that his split happened for a reason. He said: "Everything happens for a reason. I understand that now."
It's perhaps uncommon to speak of an ex during his wedding to another woman but Ben did just that. He told the wedding party: "It's no secret that I went through a really hard two years. Not everyone knew how difficult a place I was in because I was putting up a brave front, but I was quite down behind the scenes."
Despite grieving the loss of his relationship, Ben was going through further turmoil as his younger brother had died suddenly at the age of 47. Digging down into his faith, Ben explained to his guests the conversation he had with God, which resulted in his landing a music gig and meeting his new wife.
He explained: "I broke down in tears, I was crying uncontrollably. So I got down on my knees and prayed. I asked God, 'is it true? Are you still in business? Will you take a customer like me?"
He went on to say: "I know it sounds funny, but it's the truth. Two days later I got a call that changed my life." And then Ben received a phone call to be part of Boyz on Block and perform at the last minute at the Elite Awards in Carlisle. He then meet Vanessa in April last year.
This came after Keith Duffy from Boyzone and Brian McFadden from Westlife, were forced to pull out.
Ben seized the opportunity to seal his relationship with Vanessa and proposed while in New York on Valentines Day this year - just 15 months after they first met.

Destination X star James 'broke down' over emotional twist in scenes cut from show
EXCLUSIVE: Destination X star James has opened up about his sudden exit from the BBC One show, revealing that he was left in floods of tears in an unaired moment Tonight's episode of Destination X saw the show brutally dump two contestants from the cross-country coach, with James and Ben being the next stars to leave the BBC show. Now, e-commerce manager James has spoken out about his exit, revealing that the show didn't air scenes in which he became very emotional. After contestants Ashvin, Chloe-Anne and Claire returned to the show after being dumped at the airport in episode one, they were made to compete against Ben, Nick and James for a chance to rejoin the game. Unfortunately, one contestant would not be boarding the bus again - and that turned out to be James after losing out in the task. Speaking to The Mirror about his exit, James said: "My saddest day is going to be leaving. I don't know whether they use the footage or not but honestly I absolutely broke down crying my eyes out. "I'm quite a tough person and it's quite a lot to get me to show my emotions. That just ripped me to pieces. You don't have your phone, you don't have any means of what you would class as a normal life comfort so you are constantly living in this sense of unknown." He added: "You don't know where you are. You really don't have much control over what you eat because you're obviously constantly travelling and you're in a bubble of unfamiliarity with everything. It just climaxed with me going home." Despite his emotional exit, James said that he wouldn't change his experience "for the world". He said: "I went into the whole experience with the mindset that I'm so over the moon that I even get the opportunity to do it so regardless as to any outcome, it was a win for me." While living on the show's bus may have looked cramped, James admitted that the contestants each got a luxurious night's sleep. "I was just so thankful that they didn't skimp on the bedding because let me tell you right now - that bed was so comfy," he said. James added that he's also made friends for life despite his short time on the show. "I'll 110% keep in touch with all of them," he said. "We watched the first episode together before it went out and it was so nice to see everyone again. You all leave at slightly different times so you've got disjointed parts of a story. It all feels a bit like a dream because you're sharply whisked away and then sharply whisked back."

His judging commitments means he can't have a professional partner on the new series and will be instead part of the ensemble dancers. According to The Sun, Gorka will appear as part of the ensemble for the first seven weeks and then will be gone for a month before returning in week 11. A source said: 'Strictly bosses were desperate to keep Gorka so have made it work around his schedule to make sure he's as involved as possible because he's such a fan favourite.' Gorka took to Instagram to confirm he would be a judge on the Spanish version of Strictly. He wrote: 'I am happy to announce that I will be back for season two of BAILANDO CON LAS ESTRELLAS as a judge from September. 'As always thank you for all The love and supportand remember!' It comes after Strictly unveiled two new pros who are joining the lineup ahead of the much-anticipated new series this autumn. Speaking about joining the show, Alexis said: 'I've admired Strictly for years, so joining this incredible family is such an honour. He appeared as a Professional Dancer on three seasons of Australia's Dancing With The Stars, has toured the globe with hit dance show Burn The Floor, and also competed on So You Think You Can Dance in Australia. He said: 'Joining the cast of Strictly really is a dream come true. I've watched it for years, especially cheering on all the amazing dancers I know and work with who've been part of it. I can't wait to get stuck in, have some fun, and be part of something special! '

Celebs SAS stars 'to get full fee despite quitting Channel 4 show early'
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins stars will reportedly still get their full fee even if they quit, and three of the contestants are said to have raked in thousands for just minutes on screen Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins stars will reportedly still get their full fee even if they quit the show early. The Channel 4 military-style reality series returned to screens last week with the likes of X Factor legend Lucy Spraggan, footballer Troy Deeney and former drugs mule Michaella McCollum amongst a host of others being put through their paces by the show's tough directors. However, viewers watched as pop star Hannah Spearritt quit the show just minutes into the first episode, and dancer Louie Spencer later realised he could not hack it either so decided to remove his armband and walk off. In episode two, Love Island stars Tasha Ghouri and Chloe Burrows quit on the spot as well. Insiders have claimed that some of the stars are being paid up to £20,000 as an appearance fee and insisted that they will still receive payment in full, no matter what stage of the competition they actually reach. A source told The Sun: "Hannah Spearitt, Chloe Burrows and Tasha Ghouri will all have been paid over £10k - some as much as £20k - but unlike other reality shows, they do get paid if they pull out. So even though Hannah only lasted one minute, she'll still get paid over £10k for that minute." It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025. The source added that even though it can be 'embarrassing' for celebrities to quit so early, it is "well worth stars signing up even if they don't think they can complete the show just for the payday - it might be embarrassing taking their armband off early in the show, but it's good money!' Hannah who shot to fame as part of S Club 7 before going on to an acting career with roles in shows such as Primeval and EastEnders, was seen struggling. She was sitting on the way to a mission when she told her fellow recruits that she was 'feeling faint'. And just moments later, it was confirmed that the Reach singer had become the first to leave the course as her co-stars speculated that she had suffered a panic attack. However, in a confessional aired seconds beforehand, Hannah, who last year refused to join her bandmates for their reunion tour, had seemed confident in herself as she said: "I am pretty determined. I wouldn't say I give up easily but whether I get to the end or not...I don't think I'll go on the first day because I just wouldn't forgive myself." She went onto tell instructors: "Sorry - I'm done. Sorry. I've reached a point." And she wasn't the only star to fall at the first hurdle, as Pineapple Dance Studios star Louie also dramatically left the show as the tough scenes unfolded. He initially told the cameras as part of his own confessional segment: "If there was a world war and they decided they were gonna call everyone up, would I be the first to jump up and say 'Yes me?' Being surrounded my thousands of soldiers, I might just jump at it. I'd be the home guard like on Dad's Army. We'll have a gay Dad's Army. Honestly, they wouldn't wanna mess with the gays!" But, despite his confidence, just moments later, Chris Fox described the group's effort as "abysmal" after the latest task. He reminded the recruits to think about why they were there and suggested they take things "seriously". Louie piped up: "I wanna do an immediate withdrawal. I just don't have the conviction and I feel as though I'm not dedicated enough," he said as he removed his armband. Chris gave him the chance to put his arm band back on, but Louie refused, so Chris said: "Get your kit." In a previously-filmed confessional, Louie, 56, had said: "I'm a survivor, I would keep battling to survive. I think the worst way for me to leave the course would be to choose to leave. That would really p*** me off," but just seconds later, it was confirmed that he had indeed quit the show." And following their exits, Chloe took to Instagram to rant about why she had quit as she said: ""I was f*****g exhausted and wanted my own bed and a cuddle from my mum. Forgive a girl for being so naive, but jumping at opportunities I'd never thought possible," whilst Tasha is yet to address her exit.
