Dave posted the photo to Instagram and showed how the giant, purple bruise covered much of his face from underneath his right eye, and down his cheek to his neck.
"One year ago thank you all," Dave captioned the post, referring to the ongoing support he'd received from the public, including Billie and her sister, Sam Faiers.
Both women reacted to the post, telling their stepdad how proud they were of his recovery.
"Forever proud of you pups," Billie wrote in the comments of the post.

"After several conversations and sketches, the first design took shape. Mel gave us clear feedback on what she liked and what she didn't, and the final result was beautiful. "Mel had such a strong sense of what she wanted - it was a joy working with her and Justin Alexander to bring her vision to life." The dress required a team of six artisans and took more than 850 hours to complete. Her husband wore an Alexander McQueen outfit featuring a white shirt and jacket with black trousers and shoes.
