Topps launches ‘Gold Logoman' cards celebrating MLB's top award winners
Topps is adding to its growing lineup of game-used, ultra high-end chases with a new Gold Logoman card, the company announced Saturday.
Similar to the Rookie Debut Patch Autograph, Topps and Fanatics will collaborate with Nike and MLB for the Gold Logoman cards, which will be created from jerseys worn by the top award winners from each league last season.
That lineup includes MVPs Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge, Cy Young winners Chris Sale and Tarik Skubal and Rookie of the Year winners Paul Skenes and Luis Gil.
The players will wear the jerseys, which feature a special gold logo instead of the traditional club-colored silhouette on the back, for the entire 2025 season. The jerseys will be authenticated throughout the year with 10 from each player used to create the Gold Logoman cards after the season.
Topps didn't immediately announce which products the cards will appear in.

Ohtani will wear the first jersey used to create Gold Logoman cards when the Dodgers play an exhibition game against the Yomiuri Giants Saturday in the Tokyo Series.
Fanatics will also sell retail versions of all six players' authentic home, away, City Connect and alternate jerseys.
The Gold Logoman cards are the latest push by Topps and Fanatics to include more game-used memorabilia from specific moments in sports card products.
The trend started with the release of the Rookie Debut Patch Autograph in 2023 Topps Chrome Update, which features a one-of-a-kind patch created for and worn only during a player's MLB debut. These cards have quickly become some of the most coveted in the trading card hobby, surpassing the record sales of Superfractor 1/1 parallels in some cases.
The Rookie Debut Patch worn by Skenes, which was pulled by an 11-year-old boy on Christmas last year, is currently up for auction at Fanatics Collect. As of Friday, the high bid for the card was $660,000, including buyer's premium.
Topps has also made an effort in recent releases to include more Logoman patches in its high-end offerings — a trend that has been most popular during the ultra-modern era for basketball and football cards, which feature NBA Logoman and NFL Shield patches.
Among Topps' new Logoman cards is the logo from the pants Ohtani was wearing when he hit the 50th home run of his historic 50-homer, 50-steal season last year. That Ohtani Logoman is part of the new Dynasty Black brand, which was announced in September and will feature memorabilia from specific moments.
Currently up for auction at Heritage, the Ohtani Logoman has a high bid of $176,900, including buyer's premium, with nearly two weeks remaining.
The use of gold to highlight award winners falls in line with the recent tradition of teams wearing gold-trimmed uniforms to celebrate World Series wins. According to ESPN, the modern tradition of gold-trimmed uniforms started with the 2005 Boston Sox following the team's historic win in 2004.

Francisco Lindor Shares Bold Take on Teammate Pete Alonso
Francisco Lindor Shares Bold Take on Teammate Pete Alonso originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After signing a new contract with the New York Mets last offseason, Pete Alonso is having the best start to a season of his career. Advertisement He's batting .298 with 15 home runs and 57 RBI as well as putting up a .977 OPS. Alonso leads the Mets in all of those categories and his two-run double last night against the Colorado Rockies proved to be crucial. The team was down 1-0 in the seventh inning when Alonso gave the Mets the lead. Before his hit, New York was 0-8 with runners in scoring position in the contest. Through just six games in June, he's driven in 14 runs, making him the most dangerous player at the plate in the league right now. Co-star Francisco Lindor had high praise for the first baseman following last night's game, mentioning how special of a player he is for the squad. 'Pete has meant a lot,' Lindor said. 'Leading the team in batting average, OPS, he's been tremendous for us. He makes us all better. He's special. The defensive play he made today, running the bases the right way. He's turning himself into a well-rounded player. He's a very special player and we're glad he's on our team.' Lindor is dealing with a broken pinky toe, however, that didn't stop him from delivering a clutch two-run double himself, with Alonso sliding into home plate for their fourth run of the game, clinching the win. Advertisement "I think this is going to be the best year of his career, God willing," Lindor said. "He's going to keep up doing what he's doing, I think he's going to end up with one of the best Mets seasons ever, probably." Carlos Mendoza Reacts to Francisco Lindor's Actions in Mets-Rockies
Carlos Mendoza Reacts to Francisco Lindor's Actions in Mets-Rockies originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Mets took care of business again in their series against the Colorado Rockies, as they scored an 8-1 victory Saturday night at Coors Field in Denver. Advertisement Star shortstop Francisco Lindor shone in New York's latest win despite a broken toe. The 31-year-old infielder went 3-for-5 with zero strikeouts. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that he was able to steal a couple of bases along the way. Lindor's success on the basepaths earned him some praise from Mets manager Carlos Mendoza. "He's a player, he's not going to back down,' Mendoza said after the game (h/t SNY). 'If he's in the lineup he's not going to use that as an excuse... not surprised by it." Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (12) on the bench in the fifth inning against the Rockies at Coors Chenoy-Imagn Images Lindor's toe issue hasn't stopped him from making things happen in the Rockies series. During the Mets' 4-2 victory over Colorado in the series opener on Friday, Lindor came off the bench to pinch-hit in the ninth inning and belted a clutch two-run double that put the Mets ahead for good. Advertisement So far in the 2025 MLB regular season, the four-time All-Star is batting .289/.360/.498 with 14 home runs and 11 doubles through 63 games. He leads the Mets with 13 stolen bases, just two more than second baseman LuisangelAcuña, who has 11 to date. It remains to be seen whether Lindor will be able to start anew for the Mets in the series finale versus Colorado this Sunday, but considering his performance on Saturday, he can be expected to be healthy enough to see action. New York will look to sweep the Rockies with Tylor Megill expected to start for the Mets. Meanwhile, the Rockies have Chase Dollander as their probable starter on Sunday. Ronny Mauricio's long home run powers Mets past Rockies 8-1
Ronny Maurico hit his first home run of the season, a 456-foot shot into the second deck, Francisco Lindor had three hits and two stolen bases, and the New York Mets scored eight runs as they rolled past the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night. Jeff McNeil and Jared Young also homered, and Brandon Nimmo and Luis Torrens each drove in two runs in New York's 8-1 win -- a matchup of teams with the National League's best and worst records. The Mets, a season-high 17 games over .500 at 41-24, improved to 5-0 against the Rockies this season. The loss dropped Colorado to 12-52, matching the 1932 Boston Red Sox for the worst 64-game start to an MLB season since 1901. Clay Holmes (7-3) gave up nine hits in six innings, but just one earned run. He had six strikeouts and no walks. Maurico gave the Mets a 1-0 lead in the third with his homer, the longest hit by New York this season. New York Mets' Ronny Mauricio gestures as he crosses home plate after hitting a solo home run off Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Germán Márquez in the third inning of a baseball game Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Denver. David Zalubowski / AP Ryan McMahon hit a solo home run in the fourth inning for Colorado's lone run. It snapped a 22-game homer drought for McMahon, who has 131 with the Rockies to pass Matt Holliday for 11th on the franchise's career list. Germán Márquez (2-8) allowed eight hits and four earned runs in five innings for Colorado, which has scored just 10 runs in its five losses to New York this season. Key moment Young's homer broke a 1-1 tie and kickstarted a two-run fifth for the Mets, who led the rest of the way. Key stat The Rockies' measly offensive output wasn't due to a lack of opportunities. Colorado went 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position. Up next Rookie RHP Chase Dollander (2-5, 6.26 ERA) will take the mound for Colorado against RHP Tylor Megill (4-4, 3.77) and the Mets on Sunday.
