The Summer I Turned Pretty – Season 3 Episode 4 'Last Stand' Recap & Review
Episode 4 of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 begins two weeks after the lunch disaster, where Belly and Jeremiah told their families they're getting married. And four weeks before the big event takes place. Jeremiah is doing an internship with his father and Belly is working shifts at a restaurant.
It's Belly's birthday today! Jeremiah calls her up and wishes her. They discuss how they're saving up for the wedding. After the call, Belly heads downstairs and receives a breakfast surprise from her parents. She tries asking Laurel to come wedding dress shopping with her but Laurel refuses. Laurel still thinks the wedding is a mistake and is intent on changing Belly's mind.
Jeremiah tries to speak to his father but gets a cold shoulder in return. He's also being called a nepo baby at work, to make things worse. Jeremiah then asks Steven to be his best man. He's excited but asks Jeremiah to keep his participation a secret for now.
Meanwhile, Taylor and her mother tried to sort out their finances. But when Belly calls and asks Taylor to come wedding shopping, they decide to meet her. They look for white dresses in regular stores and after a lot of trial and error, Belly finds her wedding dress! But she's upset that she had to do this without her mother. She later calls Jeremiah and asks how they're going to do this without both of their moms.
That night, Jeremiah makes a surprise visit at Belly's house with a cake and a gift – a key to the summer house. He's also got flowers for Laurel and tries to talk to her about the wedding. But she stands her ground and asks them to at least wait till school. However, things spiral into a fight between Belly and Laurel, with Laurel saying she can't watch Belly make such a stupid mistake. Belly decides to leave the house for good after this.
The two end up at the Cousins summer house. In the morning, they're surprised to see Conrad there. Turns out, he's been staying there the whole time and continues to lie to them about the summer job, saying it will start soon. Belly considers going back to either of her parents' houses but Jeremiah insists he's fine with her staying at Cousins.
While out on a run, Agnes calls Conrad and tells him he got the internship at Garth. When he returns to the house, he and Jeremiah go out surfing. Jeremiah brings up the wedding and soon realises Conrad thinks they're getting married too soon. He storms back to the house and tells Belly what happened.
When Belly texts her father, he confronts Laurel. He urges Laurel to let Belly make her own mistakes and makes it clear that if the wedding happens, he'll be there. Meanwhile, Conrad buys a flight ticket back west. Over the weekend, Steven and Denise meet in the office for some extra work and end up connecting with each other.
Belly says goodbye to Jeremiah who is headed back to work. Realising how hard it is to say goodbye, she decides to cancel her Paris trip and stay with him. Steven then calls Taylor and says he looked into Scott some more. Turns out he opened some lines of credit in Lucinda's name, leaving her with a huge debt. He offers to help pay but she shuts him down.
As Belly looks at her old debutant ball dress in her room, she recalls the first time she stayed there. Susannah had done the room up for her but Belly got scared on her own at night. Laurel hugged her all night. At present, Belly cries thinking about her mother. Conrad sees her but he's on his way to the airport and he doesn't say anything.
Back home, Taylor tells Lucinda she's not going for the New York internship and has even paid half her mother's debt.
Belly wakes up from a nap to see a text from Jeremiah that says Conrad is in and has agreed to be best man. Belly goes downstairs and sees him still there. He says Belly and Jeremiah look happy together. He's even baked Belly some birthday goodies which earns him a hug from her. As she hugs him, he thinks to himself, 'What have I done?'
The Episode Review
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 4 continues to be a bit of a drag. We get to see the fallout of Belly and Jeremiah's decision and naturally, no one is very happy about it. Laurel and Belly's relationship takes the strongest hit here and the issues between the mother and daughter feel quite compelling, in part due to Jackie Chung's compelling performance as a concerned mother who is at her wits' end.
Overall though, the pace is slow and watching Belly and Jeremiah struggle isn't very engaging. This is largely due to the same reason the previous episode didn't hit the spot — this wedding has been rushed and their relationship isn't convincing enough to warrant it, particularly due to the cheating plotline. If Belly and Jeremiah could convince us of deep romance and everlasting love, like other stories about young marriages have done before, the episode would be a better watch.
But as it stands, they do feel like kids rushing headlong into something they don't understand. Even more so when Belly cancels her Paris trip. Funnily enough, the part of the episode that hits the most is Conrad changing his mind, just because he can't stand seeing Belly crying.

Where is Cousins Beach from The Summer I Turned Pretty?
The Summer I Turned Pretty viewers have fallen in love with the seaside town Season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty (TSITP) has just dropped its fifth episode, which gave viewers a glimpse into Conrad's mind. The Prime Video teen drama, adapted from Jenny Han's YA books, follows a dramatic love triangle between Belly Conklin (played by Lola Tung) and the Fisher brothers, Jeremiah (portrayed by Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad (depicted by Christopher Briney). Over the last few instalments, viewers have followed Jeremiah and Belly as they transitioned from boyfriend and girlfriend to fiancés. But while the pair are busy wedding planning, Conrad has been trying to fight his lingering feelings for Belly. This season has seen the characters in university and other new settings far from the beloved Cousins Beach, but where exactly is the seaside town and how can fans visit? Where is Cousins Beach from The Summer I Turned Pretty? Sadly, Cousins is a fictional town conceptualised by Han, who drew inspiration from several locations. Speaking to TODAY back in 2022, she explained: "Cousins is inspired by a lot of different beaches." Han went on to name Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, alongside The Hamptons in Long Island and Nags Head in North Carolina as her muses. She believes drawing from different beaches makes Cousins relatable to readers worldwide. "I think it's why these books have really resonated with people all over because. Everybody has like a beach they've been to as a kid, so people like in Sweden or in Vietnam can imagine their own," she said. So, while audiences can't visit the real Cousins Beach, there are real places that capture its idyllic spirit. But if Han's muses aren't enough, viewers can also visit the real town where the show is filmed. Where is The Summer I Turned Pretty filmed? The teen drama is predominantly shot in and around Wilmington, North Carolina, a coastal city that has hosted other huge teen shows, such as Dawson's Creek and One Tree Hill. Beaches near Wilmington include Kure Beach, Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach, which are featured in various iconic scenes.

Where does Belly live in The Summer I Turned Pretty?
The Summer I Turned Pretty (TSITP) season three is in full swing and its latest episode is already a huge hit with fans. The Prime Video series, based on Jenny Han's YA trilogy, dives into a heated love triangle between Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) and the Fisher brothers, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad (Christopher Briney). So far, the third and final season has followed Jeremiah and Belly as they prepare for a huge step in their four-year relationship: marriage. Meanwhile, Conrad has been silently pining after his brother's fiancé. Much of the show's drama unfolds in Cousins Beach, a fictional seaside town that Belly's family visits every summer. However, viewers rarely see the Conklins in their hometown, which author and showrunner Han does not specify in the books. But the show drops hints about the Conklins' real residence. Where do the Conklins live in The Summer I Turned Pretty? In season one, it was hinted that the Conklins live in Pennsylvania because their family car has a Pennsylvania license plate. Later in the show, it was confirmed that they live in Philadelphia. During a conversation with his ex-girlfriend Shayla, Belly's brother, Steven (played by Sean Kaufman), revealed that he "grew up in the suburbs of Philly." Where do the Fishers live? The Fisher family is confirmed to live in Boston, Massachusetts in the books and the show. They annually travel to Cousins for vacation. As for Cousins itself, Han drew inspiration for the fictional town from several places across America. "Cousins is inspired by a lot of different beaches," she told TODAY back in 2022. The author went on to explain that she was inspired by Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, alongside The Hamptons in Long Island and Nags Head in North Carolina. She believes the generic beach town is familiar to readers across the globe. "I think it's why these books have really resonated with people all over because. Everybody has like a beach they've been to as a kid, so people like in Sweden or in Vietnam can imagine their own."

The Summer I Turned Pretty has major twist and fans are on the edge of their seats
Summer 2025's hit series, The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 releases it's newest episode today - and its set to be the biggest one yet. Team Conrad buckle up as Christopher Riley confirms his POV If you've dedicated your summer to following the pure frustration and chaos that is Isabel 'Belly' Conklin's love life, today's episode might be the break you've been waiting for. As Amazon Prime's The Summer I Turned Pretty's season three picks up speed, the potential for Conrad's perspective could not come at a more perfect time. So far, season three has been a whirlwind of cheating, breakups, near-death experiences and an impromptu engagement that's left fans shouting at their screens. The silence on Belly's ultimate love triangle with the Fisher brothers appears to have reached its peak after last week's episode, leaving fans even more divided than the times of Team Jacob versus Team Edward, or Vampire Diaries' Stefan and Damon. The build up to Belly and Jeremiah's wedding comes after Taylor Swift sparks engagement rumours as fans spot Travis Kelce's lock screen. Ahead of your cosy night-in on Cousin's Beach, let's break down the facts from rumours of episode five. Jenny Han's impressive character arcs and love for romance has not disappointed with this year's newest internet boyfriend, Christopher Briney who plays Conrad. Following rumours around August 6's episode being all about 'team Conrad', headlines have reported that Jenny had taken up the director role herself, in an effort to accurately do Christopher's character justice. Episode five will supposedly follow the trainee doctor in a narrative shift from the clueless Belly to her yearning ex-boyfriend, soon-to-be brother-in-law. Building up to the announcement of their wedding, last week's episode left university students Belly and Jeremiah estranged from their families and back in the Cousin's summer house, where it all began. Falling asleep on the sofa after running away from mother Laurel, Belly wakes up in a daze to see her first heartbreak Conrad standing before her. With the groom Jeremiah away at his internship, the cliff-hanger leaves the exes in the beach house alone. Though still unconfirmed, many fans have shared their suspicions on today's episode being 90 minutes long. The internet has collectively been holding their breath, waiting to see whether Belly finally reveals Jeremiah's cheating with side character Lacey. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Christopher Briney said: "It's cool to steal the voiceover spot for a little while. It's fun to have the insight. It's fun to have exactly what the subtext is. It makes the scene easier, because that's half the work". He added that, "the goal is to give — as there was the objective for Jeremiah, and as most of the show is for Belly — an idea of what it feels like to live in that person's mind for an episode".
