LIP TIP I tested three of the best SPF lip balms that can be reapplied with ease on sunny days – one is a real treat
I ADORE tinted lip balms, but SPF is essential on these sunny days, so I've swapped my two-in-one for a longwear lip liner, followed by a clear SPF lip balm that I can reapply with ease.
These are three of the best.

BUDGET
E45 Protection Lip Balm SPF30, £7.99 for 10ml, boots.com

This E45 Protection Lip Balm SPF30 really packs a punch to repair chipped lips
E45 was a staple in my family growing up, so it's a brand I trust implicitly – even if it's not always the prettiest on the shelf.
When E45 launched suncare last year, I was pleasantly surprised with how sophisticated the formulas were, and this new lip balm is no different.
With vitamin E, squalane and shea butter, it really packs a punch to repair chapped lips and keep them hydrated all year round, and the SPF 30 is an added bonus.
It's also fragrance-free, which is great news for anyone with sensitive skin that irritates easily.
MID-RANGE
KIKO Milano Sun Protection Lip Balm SPF 50, £12.99 for 4.8g, lookfantastic.com

KIKO Milano Sun Protection Lip Balm SPF 50 is shiny without being gloopy
This is my absolute go-to if I'm on holiday somewhere hotter than the UK or if I'm going to be in the sun all day, as it's one of the only lip balms I've found with full SPF 50 protection.
I love the translucent bullet – it reminds me of my favourite SPF stick, and the added hyaluronic acid and vitamin E ingredients keep my lips hydrated for hours.
Although, I try to remember to reapply at least once an hour, especially if I'm eating or drinking, to ensure they are protected against sun damage.
This is also the shiniest of all three products here, without being gloopy.
The Inkey List has launched new tinted lip balms, and they have saved my dry lips this summer
LUXURY
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15, £23, boots.com
4
The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick applies smoothly and leaves a subtle sheen
There's something so nostalgic about the scent of Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour products, so I always enjoy applying this lip balm, and have used it for years.
It goes on smoothly, and leaves a subtle sheen that feels super-hydrating – but it's not at all shiny like a gloss or an oil.
My one gripe is the Factor 15 protection – I wish it were higher. But to make up for it, I apply a few layers, and top up more regularly.
There aren't many luxurious SPF lip balms on the market, so this is a real treat.

I tested three sunscreens designed to sit over make-up — budget option was my favourite

Scroll down for a perfect high street mascara that doesn't look heavy or clumpy SUN-SATIONAL I tested three sunscreens designed to sit over make-up — budget option was my favourite A NEW breed of sun protection designed to sit over make-up has hit shelves, meaning topping up your SPF thoughout the day is easy. But be warned – you still need to apply a proper sunscreen underneath, as they won't give you enough protection alone. 4 We test three sun protections designed to sit over make-up BUDGET Garnier Vitamin C UV Mist £12.99 for 75ml 4 Garnier Vitamin C UV Mist is so lightweight you won't notice it at all The first time I used this mist I thought it was broken, given that my eyes were closed and I didn't feel a single thing hitting my face. So to double check, I applied it to my arm – keeping my eyes open – and it turns out, it's just so lightweight you won't notice it at all. In fact it's so good that we've just crowned it the winner of Best Face Sunscreen in this year's Fabulous Beauty Awards. READ MORE ON SUNSCREEN SPF BFF I've tried hundreds of budget sunscreens as a beauty editor - here's the very best It doesn't make my eyes sting, cause breakouts or ruin my make-up. All in all, it's exactly what I want from an SPF. MID-RANGE Naked Sundays SPF50+ Hydrating Glow Mist, £18 for 50ml, 4 Naked Sundays SPF50+ Hydrating Glow Mist doesn't feel wet or sticky on Full transparency, I didn't think I'd like this, given the name. I usually run from anything labelled glowy as I have extremely oily skin, so I prefer products that help reduce shine rather than add to it. As expected, it does leave skin incredibly glowy – yet like magic, it doesn't feel wet or sticky on. In fact, it dries surprisingly fast, almost like a setting spray. I love that it's a non-aerosol mist, as they are easier to pack and better for the planet. But I do find it means the spray can be inconsistent and sometimes feel a little too wet, so make sure you shake it well before using. LUXURY Supergoop! (Re)setting Powder SPF 30, £29 for 4.25g, 4 Supergoop! (Re)setting Powder SPF 30 acts almost like a dry shampoo I first tried this product a couple of years ago in the US, but now it's available at Boots so I've finally been able to restock! I love how versatile the powder is. You can use it over your face in the same way you would a setting powder, and it also works on the scalp, acting almost like a dry shampoo to absorb moisture while helping prevent sunburn. But reapplying it multiple times becomes tricky, as it can end up looking cakey, so I find it works best in tandem with a face mist (SPF or otherwise) to add some moisture back into skin. But if you're worried about shine, it's a no-brainer.

I tested three lightweight sun creams that are perfect for summer

I'M often asked for my top SPF picks now we're heading into summer. Here are three of my favourites that prove you can get a lightweight sun cream that isn't greasy. Budget 4 Bondi Sands Everyday Non Tinted Face Fluid SPF50+ is my top pick Bondi Sands Everyday Non Tinted Face Fluid SPF50+, £7.99 for 50ml, Better known as a fake tan brand, it also has a cracking skincare range, with more than 20 sunscreens to choose from. This is my top pick – not least because it's great value for money. It's lightweight and sinks into skin quickly and leaves a semi-matte finish that's not at all sticky. It also layers well when it comes to reapplication and doesn't pill. There's no added fragrance, but it has the classic sun cream scent so I tend to use it on holiday rather than every day. Mid-range 4 The Bioderma formula is extremely thin, so it doesn't feel cloying or oily on skin Bioderma XDefense Ultra Fluid SPF50+ Invisible, £19, 40ml, The formula is extremely thin, so it doesn't feel cloying or oily on skin, and it absorbs in a matter of seconds so it's great for wearing under make-up as you don't have to wait for it to dry down. Most read in Fabulous I have super sensitive eyes which are easily irritated by sunscreen and this doesn't cause me any problems even though it's lightly fragranced. It's also non-comedogenic so won't cause spots, which is a godsend as I just have to glance at the wrong product and I'll break out. Can coloured mascaras help turn back the clock? It's a great middle of the road SPF that's suitable for all skin types. Luxury 4 Trinny London See The Light SPF 50+ Moisturiser has been my go-to everyday sunscreen Trinny London See The Light SPF 50+ Moisturiser, £46 for 50ml, Since this launched two summers ago, it has been my go-to everyday sunscreen. It took three years to get the formula right, but it was worth the wait. It feels more like a moisturiser than an SPF. The packaging looks more like premium skincare than sun protection, as well as PA++++ UVA protection ( the highest level of UVA protection in sunscreens) and SPF50 UVB. You certainly get what you pay for with this one. Pick of the week 4 Instant tan has had a serious glow up this year INSTANT tan has had a serious glow up this year. Utan Instant Tan, £17.99, comes in two versions – cool and warm – with a shade tailored to the hue of your skin for a natural sun-kissed look. If you're not sure of your undertones - look at your jewellery; silver tends to suit cool best, whereas gold flatters warm.
