Love Island's biggest Ofcom complaints
Love Island has been hit with thousands of complaints over the years - here are the most moaned about moments
Dani's tears: In 2018, Ofcom received 2,644 complaints when Dani Dyer was left in floods of tears over Jack Fincham during the Casa Amor.
Viewers felt the show had been manipulated to make it appear Jack was going to cheat, when in fact he wasn't. And poor Dani didn't learn the truth for days.
Maura fury: Although she later won over the public, Maura Higgins got off to a bad start in 2019. After arriving as a bombshell, she made a beeline for Tommy Fury - who was coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague - and tried to kiss him while straddling him on a daybed. 709 people accused her actions of being 'sexual harassment'.
Faye explodes: The 2021 series of Love Island remains the most complained series about yet. 4,330 complaints were made to Ofcom after Faye Winter received a postcard from Casa Amor, which appeared to show her fella Teddy Soares kissing a bombshell.
But a whopping 24,763 complaints flooded in when Faye came face-to-face with Teddy again. Faye's shocking outburst even sparked a reaction from male domestic abuse charity, ManKind Initiative, who branded her 'unacceptable'.
Bish bash: The following year, the fallout from Movie Night sparked 3,617 Ofcom complaints. Fans of the show were horrified by Luca Bish's harsh reaction when Gemma Owen was shown speaking to bombshell Billy Brown.
Muggy Mitch: Almost 1,000 Ofcom complaints flooded in from viewers unimpressed with Mitchel Taylor's treatment of Abi Moores.
They felt he was 'targeting' her and even urged Love Island bosses to check on Abi's 'mental health and welfare'.
There were also 29 complaints related to concerns for Harry after seeing him upset following his breakup with Helena and disclosing his feelings for Shakira.
But the majority came from viewers who were left furious at the way Shakira had been treated by some of her fellow Islanders.
This comes after the 2025 series of Love Island came to an epic conclusion on Monday night.
Toni and Cach were crowned as the reigning champions and took home a £50K cheque.
Shakira and Harry were the runners up, and Yasmin and Jamie came third.
Placing fourth was Angel and Ty.

Chris Hughes reveals old-fashioned way he confessed his feelings to JoJo Siwa
TV personality Chris Hughes has revealed the old-school way he declared his true romantic feelings to his girlfriend JoJo Siwa. The Love Island star, 32, and the pop singer, 22, have been dating ever since they fell for each other during the 2025 series of Celebrity Big Brother. Britain watched on as Chris and JoJo's friendship blossomed on the ITV reality show, eventually confirming they were together after the grand final. In order to begin dating the ITV Racing commentator, JoJo left her partner of four months – Australian influencer Kath Ebbs – while Chris began his first public relationship since 2022. And Chris has now revealed how he managed to woo JoJo during a surprise trip to her native USA, with a decisive night in Florida proving crucial. He explained to The Sun: 'I was confused about how I felt. Then I wasn't confused anymore. I knew I needed to write it down to explain to her how I was feeling.' The two insisted for a while that their relationship was only platonic, but that didn't last long, with the Florida holiday proving to be a sweet display of their budding love. 'I went to Florida thinking 'I really like this person', but I was slightly confused about the feelings,' he began, adding that the trip was to celebrate JoJo's birthday. 'I took all these presents over for her. They were fun and sentimental gifts rather than anything of monetary value. The night before her birthday, I realised my feelings had changed.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Upon arrival, Chris informed JoJo that he had to do something 'important' – he went to the hotel reception and borrowed a pen before heading back up to their hotel room to re-write a birthday card he'd planned to give her. 'I knew my feelings had changed – there was so much more that I needed to say than what I originally put in the birthday card. I wasn't confused anymore, and I knew what my heart was saying, and I wanted to tell her.' Since then, Chris and JoJo – whose real name is Joelle – have been official and exclusive, with Chris now saying he absolutely wants to get married and have children one day. Speaking to The Sun, he admitted: 'I'd love to marry her. I'd be lying if I didn't tell you I run through scenarios of our wedding day. We'd have a proper English wedding and I can imagine her in a full wedding dress. More Trending 'We both want kids,' he added. 'We come from loving families. My mum loves her. She's my best friend. I love that she's the person I have to do nothing with and still have the best time. That's everything to me.' However, it does seem that during this honeymoon phase for the pair of them, Chris might be confessing a little too much – he's been asked to keep some things to himself. In a candid interview with E! on Instagram, he revealed that JoJo has 'called my balls Jimmy and Timmy', with users in the comments reminding him that some things can stay private. Got a story? We went into the scan excited, thinking everything was going perfectly, but it was blindsiding when we learned that one of the babies had gone.' Love Island's Harry admits he 'handled things the wrong way with Helena and Shakira'
Love Island star Harry Cooksley has admitted he 'handled things the wrong way' when it came to his infamous triangle with Helena Ford and Shakira Khan. Harry Cooksley thinks he 'handled things the wrong way' when it comes to his infamous triangle on Love Island. The footballer, 30, was coupled up with Helena Ford for weeks on the ITV2 dating show before moving on to Shakira Khan, 22, and they eventually finished as runners up last week. Now, in their first joint interview as a couple, Harry has spoken out on his behaviour in the villa which saw him play Shakira and Helena against each other time and time again. He also sat back as Helena and Shakira took the triangle drama out on each other. Just days after the final, he has admitted that he hasn't actually spoken to Helena but gave a positive update on the status of their relationship now that the show is over. He told Christine Lampard on Friday's edition of Lorraine: "I think I definitely handled things in the wrong way with Helena and Shakira. But at the end of the day, Helena and I are now moving forward as friends. I haven't actually spoken to her since I've been out but we had a couple of conversations before she left the villa and I'm delighted it's amicable." It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025. Christine then quizzed Shakira on how she felt during the whole situation, and she said: "Honestly it was heartbreaking and having to watch it pan out every day was so tough. I think in the outside world you can have a bit of distance, you can speak to each other. It was something I'd never experienced before." Elsewhere in the series, Harry had to deal with his ex-girlfriend Emma Munro arriving as a Bombshell during the Casa Amor portion of the competition and joked that he and the other boys had been hitting the gym every day in an attempt to impress the girls before all the drama unfolded. He added: "I think I was buzzing, all the boys were so buzzing. We were calling it the Promised Land, we were gymming every day. We were training like it was the World Cup final and then the girls would come out, Emma was sat there and I just put my head in my hands. I hadn't seen her for months, probably since last year so it was such a surreal feeling." But in the end, Harry ended up with Shakira and even though they were beaten to the £50,000 prize by Cach and Toni, he knew that Shakira was the one for him in the villa. He explained: "I think it was just one conversation that we had. I would make comments towards her and me actually had a chat one-on-one for the first time in weeks and it was just natural, we expressed how we felt. I'd buried a lot of emotion while I was in there and it just kind of came out." Despite this, Harry and Shakira are still hesitant to label themselves as exclusive on the outside world as he said: "When we rekindled and recoupled, I only had eyes for Shakira, there's no one else I would want to get to know. That hasn't changed since coming into the outside world. But I think exclusive isn't such a thing on the outside in terms of saying 'Oh, we're exclusive.'" There had even been rumours that Harry was not single when he went looking for love in the villa, but he has now insisted that was never the case. He said: "I couldn't have been more single before going into the villa." Clearing up any speculation, he insisted that there were no current girlfriends at the time, as he said: "My actual girlfriend was in the villa, my actual ex-girlfriend was in the villa. There wasn't any exes or current girlfriends. " "I was definitely dating, definitely seeing people. But there's the process of no guarantee, you're not in the villa till you're in the villa, you can't talk about it. I only told four people, my closest friends and family so I wasn't going to go shouting that about!" Shakira was initially coupled up with Harry in the early weeks of the competition, but they got together again just days ahead of the final and he told her: "I came in here and thought it would be a lot of fun. Finding you in a villa in Mallorca was not on my bingo card this summer. I do regret taking too long to tell you how I felt. We both know this is more than surface level - I think it always has been for me."
