When Melissa Hortman, Minnesota lawmaker shot dead, visited India and saw Taj Mahal

Politician Melissa Hortman and her husband were shot and killed in their Brooklyn Park home. Following the horror incident, the FBI has launched a widespread manhunt for Vance Luther Boelter, the suspect in the shootings. Officials believe it to be a 'politically motivated assassination'. Amid the chaos, an old tweet by Hortman resurfaced on X, where she talked about her visit to India. In the 2016 X post (then known as Twitter), the Minnesota state representative wrote, 'Presented on my Community Solar Gardens law in New Delhi, India earlier this week. (And got to see the Taj Mahal in Agra!) (sic).' State representative Melissa Hortman, 55, and her husband Mark, 58, were shot and killed in their home. According to law enforcement, the attack happened in the early hours of Saturday. Police, upon receiving news of gunshots at Hortman's house, reached the scene where they exchanged gunfire with the suspect. However, the suspect escaped, which led to a manhunt. Police officials said that the person who killed Hortman and her husband was impersonating a police officer. The suspect was also driving a car that resembled a police vehicle. Reportedly, the suspect was wearing a uniform and had a badge. According to a CBS News report, Hortman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband was rushed to the North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office reported that both died from multiple gunshot wounds. A photo of an individual who appears to be 57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter, the suspect in the shooting of the Minnesota lawmaker and her husband, has recently surfaced on social media. It shows the person trying to enter the victims' home. "When we did a search of the vehicle, we did find a manifesto that identified many lawmakers and other officials. We immediately made alerts to the state to provide security wherever necessary,' Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley said in a press conference. The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, called the incident a 'horrific violence'. "I have been briefed on the terrible shooting that took place in Minnesota, which appears to be a targeted attack against state lawmakers," Trump said in a statement, according to AFP. He added, 'Such horrific violence will not be tolerated in the United States of America.'

Turkey's Erdogan warns against 'devastating' Israel-Iran war

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday warned against a "devastating war" between Israel and Iran that could trigger a refugee crisis, in a series of calls to regional leaders, his office said. Erdogan told his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian that Israel was seeking "to drag the whole region into the fire", according to a statement from the Turkish presidency. His conversations came as Israel and Iran escalated their deadly barrages of missiles and drones, raising fears of an intense war that could affect multiple countries around the Middle East. To Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Erdogan said: "Our region cannot tolerate another crisis, and a devastating war could create waves of irregular migration towards all the countries in the region." Turkey already hosts millions of Syrians, who fled their civil war, as well as Iranians seeking lives away from their country's authoritarian rulers. The influx has created political tensions in Turkey. Live Events Erdogan told Saudi Arabia's prince that Israel needed "to be stopped", calling it "the main threat to stability and security in the region", the statement from his office said. The issue of Iran's nuclear programme "can only be resolved through negotiations", he added. "The fact that the international community has closed its eyes to the occupation and genocide in Palestine has led Israel to this level of flouting the law and its aggression," Erdogan was quoted as saying. Erdogan also spoke with Jordan's King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. And later Saturday, his office said he had also spoken by phone with US President Donald Trump, to back continued talks between Washington and Tehran over Iran's nuclear programme. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that he also spoke with Erdogan, and the two agreed that "Israel's unprovoked aggression against Iran" was "a blatant violation of international law and a threat to regional peace". Israel on Friday launched an unprecedented attack on Iran, killing top army commanders, nuclear scientists and other senior officials, in a missile barrage that Tehran said claimed 78 lives. In response, Iran launched drones and missiles at Israel, killing three people and wounding more than 70 others.

The ‘Pizza Index': Can fast food forecast war?

As tensions between Israel and Iran flared in recent weeks, a bizarre and long-forgotten theory has re-entered the spotlight the so-called 'Pizza Index.' No, this isn't the latest foodie trend. It's a strange metric some online sleuths claim can predict major military theory, largely fuelled by an anonymous X (formerly Twitter) account, suggests that when pizza deliveries spike near the Pentagon, something big even explosive is on the horizon. And just before Israel launched its latest airstrikes on Iran? The dough started flying. According to the account, pizza orders from three restaurants close to the U.S. Department of Defense surged in the hours leading up to the Israeli assault. One post declared: 'All pizza establishments nearby the Pentagon have experienced a HUGE surge in activity.' Another claimed that 'District Pizza Palace, just minutes before closing, was experiencing a huge surge in traffic.' Even a nearby Domino's, allegedly close to the White House, reported 'above-average levels of traffic.'Coincidence? believers point to historical precedents. Back in 1990, the night before Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, pizza orders reportedly spiked in Washington, D.C. Frank Meeks, who owned several Domino's franchises in the capital, later observed the same trend before the launch of Operation Desert Storm in logic behind the theory is surprisingly simple: when major decisions loom, Pentagon staff don't leave their desks. War rooms heat up, phones don't stop ringing, and fast, convenient food like pizza becomes essential not about dough — it's about laugh it off as pure coincidence, yet even sceptics admit there's something oddly compelling about how food delivery patterns might mirror global did America's cheese-covered secret sauce really foreshadow Israel's strike on Iran?We may never know. But maybe just maybe the biggest clue wasn't buried in classified documents. Maybe it was in a pizza box advertisement
