El Hanager Theater Hosts Young Adult Novel, Playwriting Award Ceremony

The National Center for Child Culture, affiliated with the Supreme Council of Culture, will hold the awards ceremony for the 2nd edition of the Young Adult Novel competition and the inaugural edition of the Playwriting competition on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the El-Hanager Arts Center at the Cairo Opera House, at 6 PM.
The competition's judging committees are expected to attend the event.
The ceremony is held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Heno, Minister of Culture, and the supervision of Dr. Ashraf El-Azazy, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Culture.
The winner of the first and second place will be announced at the event.
The winners are set to receive cash prize and their work published, with the third in place of both competitions will have their work published.
Al-Azazi will present the awards to the winners during the ceremony.

"Faat El Maad" Unveils Posters and Teaser

Yara Sameh The official posters and teaser for Egyptian stars Asma Abulyazeid and Ahmed Magdy's TV series "Faat El Maad" have been unveiled. The drama consists of 30 episodes and marks the second collaboration between the pair after the 2019 TV series "El Anesa Farah". "Faat El Maad" also stars Mahmoud El-Bezzawy, Salwa Mohamed Ali,Mohamed Ali Rizk, Ahmed Safwat, Hager Afifi, Mohamed Abu Dawood, Walaa El Sherif, and more. Saad Hendawy directed the series from a script by Atef Nashed, Islam Adham, and Nasser Abdel Hamid. Square Media is the studio behind the drama. "Faat El Maad" recently wrapped filming and is set to premiere soon during the off-season on the DMC and DMC TV Channels. Abulyazeid, born on July 10, 1990, has liked acting since young, but could not act in her school because there was no school theater, something that became available in college where she studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts. She participated in a large number of theatrical performances that were displayed at the Hanager Theater and competed for the Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi Award for Best Theater Show in 2016. In 2017, Abulyazeid drew attention through her performance as Toka in the TV series "Hadha Almasa" (This Evening). Her TV credits also include "Al Nas" (2024), "Touba" (2022), "Al Ekhteyar 2: Regal El Zel" (2021), Hogan" (2019), "Zodiac" (2019), "Layali Eugenie" (2018), and "'Ana shahira ... 'ana alkhayin" (2017). Abulyazeid is also known for her roles in films such as "El Daawa Ammah" (2022), "Laylat Amar 14"(2022), "Mousa" (2021), "30 March" (2021), "El Kowayeseen" (2018), and "Hadha almasa'" (2017). Embracing new possibilities and cultural impact, the Saudi Cultural Development Fund (CDF) hosted a networking event titled 'Cultural Entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia: Fostering Innovation and Heritage' at the Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. The event featured a panel discussion that explored the Kingdom's thriving cultural economy, where Dr. Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Japan and Commissioner General of the Saudi Arabia Pavilion, joined entrepreneurs and international investors sharing in growing global interest in Saudi Arabia's dynamic cultural economy. Moderated by cultural researcher and podcast host of Vision, Culture, and Policy, Saba Alkhamis, the conversation brought together Basil Al Alola, CDF Chief Credit & Investment Officer; Darren Barker, Founder of Barker Langham; and Hessa Alajaji, Founder of Accents, a design brand highlighting Saudi artisan. Guests explored Saudi Arabia's cultural renaissance and the rise of culture-sector entrepreneurship as a powerful engine for economic and social growth—underscoring the pivotal role of CDF's holistic financing and enablement solutions in driving the sector's sustainable expansion. In a vibrant celebration of cultural exchange, the event served as a platform to spotlight Saudi Arabia's artistic heritage and its growing global connections. Building on the momentum of the 2025 Year of Handicrafts, the reception showcased works created in collaboration with Saudi artisans, reflecting the depth and vibrancy of the Kingdom's creative spirit. Complementing this showcase of handicrafts, the evening also celebrated cultural dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Japan, elevated with a performance by Japanese violinist and composer Ikuko Kawai, whose music embodied culture as both a bridge for collaboration and a catalyst for creativity. Across Expo 2025 Osaka, CDF's participation spans a diverse range of activations presenting Saudi Arabia's thriving cultural ecosystem and investment opportunities across the Kingdom's cultural landscape. With a particular emphasis on positioning culture as a driver of economic diversification and global collaboration, CDF shares real success stories, spotlights opportunities, and delivers meaningful impact. The Fund will also join local and international experts for panel discussions and networking sessions pertaining to all 16 cultural sectors, showcasing the Fund's tailored financing and enablement solutions. Netflix to Stream Stranger Things Final Season in 3 Parts, Starting from Nov.

Rana Atef On Sunday, Netflix announced the release dates of "Stranger Things" final season. It's coming in three parts: the first debuting on November 26, the second on December 25, and the series finale on December 31. Created by the Duffer Brothers, the entire cast who appeared in the past two seasons are featured in the third. In addition, 'Terminator' star Linda Hamilton joined the cast. 'Stranger Things' Season 4 premiered back in summer 2022 in two parts, released separately in May and July. The episodes were over 60 minutes, and the final episode of Part 2 was more than two hours long. It ended with an all-out battle against the evil Vecna and the Demogorgons in the Upside Down.
