'I want to be someone who has a voice,' says actor Neha Dhupia in Bengaluru
You may know her from 2000s comedies like Chup Chupke or Singh is Kinng, from her time as a model representing India in the Miss Universe pageant, or perhaps more recently, playing Vidya Balan's boss in 2017 hit Tumhari Sulu or an unabashedly sexy librarian in Lust Stories. Add to that her much-loved stints as a gang leader on several seasons of Roadies and her podcast-cum-YouTube show No Filter Neha, it's no stretch to call Neha Dhupia a beloved household name.
Visiting the city as the showstopper for Max Kids Festival, she reflected on this gradual shift in focus from model-actor to reality TV star and popular host, saying, 'It's not a transition; in 2025, any number of mediums that you can explore – whether it's a podcast, television, fiction or non-fiction, whether it's playing characters in films – you should. After being in the business for over two decades now, I have to put myself in a box and at the same time, be out of the box. I want to be someone who has a voice and exercises it when necessary.'
This confident and outspoken demeanour is evident than ever in Dhupia's return to Roadies for its Roadies Double Cross season after three years. 'My biggest victory has been coming back to the show and get ting the amount of love that I have.It makes me want to keep coming back,' she says, adding, 'I'm always fighting for what I want to try and at no point do I want to hurt or harm anybody. The intention is always to encourage people.'

She compared it to friendship—only by spending time with someone do you truly get to know them. She mentioned that in today's world, people often judge others without really knowing them. However, she chose not to judge Prince and instead saw him as a hardworking person who is open with his emotions—whether it's anger or love, he expresses it fully. While this can lead to challenges, she accepted it as part of his true personality and felt she understood the kind of person he really is. Yuvika further shared that initially, she felt the need to appear a certain way on screen, dealing with rumors and link-ups. But over time, she realized that when you're young, working, and single, it's your own life to live. It's only when you're with someone that you truly see their loyalty and real character. She wanted a partner who had experienced life fully, so there would be no regrets later. She believes that when people feel restricted, they crave freedom even more. So, she wants her partner to have the freedom to explore and grow, feeling relaxed in personal life. She knows he has traveled a lot and lived fully, and she's aware of his journey. She also joked that they started out as friends, sharing open conversations where she even teased him about his girlfriends. Lara Dutta revealed that her father faced his illness like the true soldier he was. Actress Lara Dutta's father, retired wing commander LK Dutta, passed away in Mumbai on May 31st at the age of 84. Remembering her late father, Lara penned a heartfelt note on social media. The former Miss Universe revealed that her father faced his illness like the true soldier he was. Her note started like this, 'My wonderful, brave, fighter of a father, went quietly into the good night on the 31st of May…… He fought long and hard against an illness that debilitated him over the last few months…. He bore pain with the stoicism of a battle-worn soldier and displayed a courage and willingness to beat the odds, that sometimes defied all logic….. He rewrote any concept I had of the body breaking down or succumbing to an inevitable end…."
