'I want to be someone who has a voice,' says actor Neha Dhupia in Bengaluru
Visiting the city as the showstopper for Max Kids Festival, she reflected on this gradual shift in focus from model-actor to reality TV star and popular host, saying, 'It's not a transition; in 2025, any number of mediums that you can explore – whether it's a podcast, television, fiction or non-fiction, whether it's playing characters in films – you should. After being in the business for over two decades now, I have to put myself in a box and at the same time, be out of the box. I want to be someone who has a voice and exercises it when necessary.'
This confident and outspoken demeanour is evident than ever in Dhupia's return to Roadies for its Roadies Double Cross season after three years. 'My biggest victory has been coming back to the show and get ting the amount of love that I have.It makes me want to keep coming back,' she says, adding, 'I'm always fighting for what I want to try and at no point do I want to hurt or harm anybody. The intention is always to encourage people.'

Bollywood beauty Kiara Advani is celebrating her 34th birthday today. This birthday is extra special because it marks the actor's first as a new mother to her newborn daughter. Over the years, Kiara has made a mark in the Hindi film industry, leaving a lasting impact on audiences with each performance. But her love story with husband and fellow actor Sidharth Malhotra is definitely one of the biggest and most important highlights of Kiara's journey. Today, while Kiara enjoys her big day with Sidharth and their daughter, let's revisit the first time the love birds met. No, Karan Johar did not play cupid. Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani However, filmmaker and friend Karan Johar was a very important part of Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra's first meeting. Back in 2023, months after the star couple tied the knot, Karan revealed how the actors met. In a chat with his students Varun Dhawan and Sidharth on his chat show, KJo remembered, 'I'll tell you where they met for the first time. We were wrapping... It was strange. It was serendipitous, or whatever the word is. We had just wrapped Lust Stories, where she shot that big scene.' When Varun interjected to point out that Kiara is Sidharth's wife now, the latter coolly replied, 'It's fine. I am not offended. She did shoot it.' Karan continued, 'So we shot the scene and we wrapped the film. We went to Amrit, a friend of ours, he was having a birthday party. And I was meeting him also for the first time because Neha Dhupia took us. We all went there. There was Vicky, there was Kiara, there was me, there was Neha Dhupia. And then Sidharth Malhotra called me, and I told him, 'We're at this party in Bandra. Why don't you come?' Not realising anything.' Sidharth chimed in and shared, 'I met Vicky, Kiara and Amrit all together, for the first time.' KJo went on, 'But at that party, you came. Somehow you said, 'Okay, I will come,' which is not your personality. And that's where he met Kiara for the first time. So, I didn't make them meet. It just so happened that they met. You know, it was an eventuality.' How sweet is that? Sidharth and Kiara have come a long way as partners and are now enjoying the blissful chapter of parenthood in their happily ever after. We wish Kiara all the love and joy on her birthday today!

Vidya Balan says she felt pressured to act younger, especially during photoshoots, after Parineeta: ‘It got frustrating'
Actor Vidya Balan completed 20 years in the film industry. She made her acting debut in Bollywood with Parineeta in 2005. In an interview with Filmfare, Vidya opened up about her career and journey so far. She stressed the fact that during the early years, there were many who wanted her to look younger after she had debuted with such a strong traditional look in Parineeta. Vidya Balan shared that she was annoyed after a point when she was pressurized to look younger. (Instagram/ Vidya Balan) What Vidya said During the interview, Vidya was asked whether she felt any biases and prejudices at the start of her career. She said, 'Parineeta was a massive success and changed everything for me. As someone with no industry background, I was incredibly lucky to debut like that. Very few get that kind of launch. Hrithik (Roshan) in Kaho Na…Pyaar Hai is the only other one who comes to mind. Overnight, people knew me. I won Best Debut at Filmfare, got invited to events. Top directors started calling.' 'I hadn't grown up on film magazines' She went on to add, 'But at photo shoots, they'd say, 'Let's try something new with you,' and I'd think, 'What have you even seen of me to want something new?' They'd say, 'Let's make you look younger and sexy.' And I was open to experimenting. But after a while, it got frustrating. I wasn't a girl. I was 26 and very much a woman. It annoyed me, especially during shoots, where I felt pressured to act younger, something I just didn't relate to. I hadn't grown up on film magazines or learnt how to pose. Acting was always my focus. I hadn't even seen international glossies.' Meanwhile, Parineeta is all set to return to the big screen! On Wednesday, PVR INOX announced the 20th anniversary re-release of Parineeta. The romantic drama will be re-released all over India in select theatres on August 29, exclusively for a week. Vidya was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which also starred Kartik Aaryan and Madhuri Dixit.
